I really love how Newjeans are never really the main characters of the mvs? Or at least a lot of the focus is on other characters or include a lot of characters
that's apparently what cemented nj in my heart, though i was late to realize it. after i come to love nj i recall how i always lowkey disliked mvs where the groups are heavily the main characters of the cinema story with non member but i don't know why
To sum it up the girl her boyfriend was cheating on her with was her best friend and the NewJeans we see everywhere except the party are her hallucinations. And yeah she ki//ed them. :)
My take on ETA. Firstly, Newjeans is Newjeans (idols) not her real friends.The girl thinks her bf is cheating so she imagines him with another girl. She sees them in a swimming pool while she’s in the pool in her car. She sees them in her back seat kissing. Obviously not possible situations. Notice the ear things and mics Newjeans are wearing during the gas station dance scene. And Newjeans as cops. Not reality. Just her imagination. Even when she’s driving scene we see a couple of Newjeans members in the car. Not actually there! The shirt in the trunk symbolizes her getting over the cheating bf not her killing him and dumping him in the trunk. Minji and Hanni in the mirrors at the end of MV symbolizes that she feels Newjeans are in her mind and always with her helping. It’s a metaphor. In her mind Newjeans is always on her side and always there for her, helping her through the rough times. Kinda like Ditto. Hope this helps.
Love how kpop groups are no longer limited in using/ endorsing Samsung. It seemed like anything korean has to be featuring samsung but new jeans endorsing Apple openly is so refreshing

I think this mv is talking about how toxic fans being delusional. Started from first scenes Hanni call Eva (this is like eva just read dating rumor of her bias on internet) and newjeans member is a Stalker (sasaeng?) and also newjeans member is the one who started to spread the rumors. Eva was triggered and lost her mind cus jealousy, Newjeans member was in the car with her? No. They are eva’s bad thoughts, cus she’s obsessed with mikel (her bias). The rumors drives her crazy, she drives her car really fast till the cops (minji haerin) stopped her. Eva keep her phone calling with Newjeans members it’s like she dont stop reading the rumors and she dont stop overthinking. She did something bad to Mikel, that’s why at the end eva seems desperate but minji hanni (her bad thoughts) just showing flat expressions and reactions. This is my theory guys hehe

I also like how NewJeans is including LGBTQ+ in their music video in a subtle way so the conservative Koreans don’t freak out haha. In their Hypeboy MV and here, “when Jiwon broke up his girlfriend.” So Jiwon is a common female name in Korea. The translation says his but in Korean it would be gender neutral. So, it’s highly possible that it’s referring to a girl-girl relationship.
My theory is that the woman driving is a lesbian ( or bisexual ) and killed the man who was seducing her girlfriend. I took a hint from the objects in her car.
