I facilitate a day program for Jewish Seniors dealing with cognitive barriers. Short term memory loss means they cannot remember the content of the program, so we strive to create a strong positive emotional memory, which has greater staying power. Part of that is choosing music that is uplifting, connects with their Jewish identity, and relates to things they recall with their long term memory. This video has become the cue that our weekly session is about to end on a high note, and sends everyone off with a big smile.
This is fantastic - I can't stop playing it. Question: I know the song Ale Brider, but what are they singing in the middle? I sounds like a Russian song. And what is the name of the lead singer?
Finnish polka? This song was composed late1800s early 1900s& 1 of his e from General Jewish Kabobs r Bund (Federation or League.)The composers are known, si 1!can reearch Ale Briders origins.
Fabulous!! I played this today for my Yiddish Club (we use Zoom, and most of our members are in Pennsylvania, Missouri, California and Florida). Everyone LOVED you. I got up and danced. We're curious about your location or origin --what country or countries are you in or from?
@@GefilteDrive ג-ט צו דאַנקן! I was afraid you might be in Ukraine or Russia. I did see a sign on the wall in Hebrew, but that didn't guarantee that you were in Israel. Thanks for letting me know. Between your song and a video by a group called Listen Up! ( from Chicago) , a Yiddish version of the Beatles' 1964 hit, "I Feel Fine," I'll be dancing every day. It's at th-cam.com/video/22fWy89HdQk/w-d-xo.html

Terrific

Shostakovich standing up to Stalin with his suite and Songs from Jewish life would applaud
Sounds like fun, but subtitles would help!
