I don't know why but in Australian Corollas, which came from Japan have a little button which you press down. I have no idea why they don't stick with one design. I like the American design by the way. Great video.

My shift lock override button is not working.
Engine off, brake pedal NOT pressed , Override button is pressed , the gear won't move out of park.
Is my transmission broken ?
I have a question, and I have a 2013 Corolla S, and I know there are L, 2nd, and 3rd gear. I like using it because it gives the engine a nice sound (parents said no to a manual transmission being my first car) so it gives me that pretend-like feeling haha. Is it okay to use that means of shifting? Or is it bad to do?

@andhuy Right below neutral is says 3-D. pull straight down from neutral and you will be in drive.
My 2007 Toyota Blade has a red button about same spot that does the same all you do is hold it down

this is not helpful at all, I have to press the button in my 98 Camry every time I wanna drive I need to know how to fix the problem of it having to be pressed in the first place, why would the shift lock be locking up in the first place? (also my stop light works I have read this can be a problem for that but it is not in my situation.
Bad brake light fuse or switch will also prevent toyotas from disengaging park
That hole was design to put your car key in it n push it down so can move your shift when the car is not turn on without taking the cover off.
