An attraction you were only feet away had a tragic accident recently. Our hearts go out to the family whose loved-one died on the vertical drop on International Drive days after you showed us the attraction.
Love these type of videos Lee. Great insight to what’s on International Drive. It might not be one of the glamorous places in the world but it still looks a fantastic pub/bar crawl!
Miss wet n wild on international drive, it was perfect for those days after you were shattered from doing the theme parks and need to recoup. Stumble out of a motel and into w&w. Once they closed that it was never the same again. Volcano Bay is epic but its like you liking the old Irish bar over the new trendy places. Must be an age thing and the yearning for days of olde😂
Great video Lee ! Have to agree I’m fascinated by abandoned hotels , hospitals and even pubs ! So many pubs have shut in England now and I always say people will have meet in there and be married and kids now .
Really enjoyed this. Been going to the States for years and first went to International Drive in 1989. Not been for a while and cannot believe how much its changed!! Thanks for showing us. Cheers
Great vid, Lee. Brought back some happy memories. Myself and my late husband spent many times walking up and down I-Drive while on holiday there. Many thanks.
So many memories. My last visit was September 2005, so much has changed. Icon Park was The Mercado, used to live going there at night. Booked for September 2023, looking forward to seeing old and new. Solo trip time to make new memories. Thanks for the vlog. Hey I didn't know you lived in Mansfield, me too 😂
Brought back a few memories. Usually stay down Disney Springs. Did stay years ago up the other end towards Universal end, remember walking to the old Wet and Wild before it closed.. good times
Everything was built around the automobile in the 70 s and 80s it was refreshing that they built sidewalks on international drive. I’ve walked there in August and I didn’t see any people walking on the sidewalk. I can see the walk in early March must be great. Also. The long distance between locations Lee it looked like perfect weather (it’s snowing again in New Jersey interesting vlog
Love this vlog happy memories for me before we lost mum❤ mum and dad and sister love going there for holidays as well as tenerife happy times 😊 But it amazing that it not changed that much like going back in time ⏱its the weather am loving seeing☀️🇺🇲 bring on summer in England ☀️😊I love old hotels and building like that as well ❤great vlog Lee 🇺🇲👍x
We love the Hyatt Regency and the Pointe Orlando area. Walked from there to the International Premium Outlets in December (in the heat) so did your journey in reverse.
Changed so much last on i drive 15 years ago. So many additions. Titanic exhibition was at the old mercado centre when we were there. Always love a game of crazy golf. One visit we stayed at movie land hotel ,that was an experience.
Glad you did the walk up International Way. I hate hot weather and no way would I ever visit Florida. I like the cold weather and change of seasons. Did you see many electric charging stations on your journey. Don't understand this Country's direction, the inmates are in charge of the zoo. Enjoying your vlogs touring our Country again. A break from the madness.
Hi Lee this was a very good informative vlog really don’t need the food reviews shown please do not take offence but watched Tread the Globe vlog in Manhattan and it was very informative keep up the good work we are subscribed
That derelict building at 1:35 used to be a ponderosa steakhouse and buffet. Ate there quite often when we stayed at the enclave suites back in April/May 2004.
It's all about perspective, isn't it? I grew up in USA and loved British TV shows, Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin to name a few. I first came to the UK in 1977 and fell in love with London. I went back a few years ago and would love to live there. I've never been to Blackpool but this tour of Orlando looks a lot like Los Angeles with the strip malls, restaurants, etc.
Thanks for this Lee! Brought back memories of past trips to Orlando! I remember staying on I Drive for a short time, then mainly in Kissimmee, the rest. I remember along the (better) part of I Drive you would see pedestrians walking, but mainly everyone went by car. First time I went to Florida I fell in love with the place, and visiting places like Disney and Universal, wow, what a fantastic experience, especially for the young ones. Shame Wet n Wild shut down and remember many a meal at Ponderosa, especially enjoying the buffet brekkies. Anyone else go to Gatorland, St. Petes, Busch Gardens, Sea World, Kennedy Space Centre?😄 The first trip we even drove down to the Keys, what a wonderful place Key West was to stay in. All in all the trips there were magical, and so much fun! Glad we had the opportunity to do it while we could. Cheers Lee 🙂
The Lucky leprechaun Pub on International Blvd though.....the best folks and friendly and love and miss them all..I didn't see you stop by them though......hmmmm Pity, you're missing out. .God Bless
Looks like you missed out Hash House a go go further up. Best restaurant on I drive. Absolutely love it. Remember staying in the Rosen across from wet n wild (RIP) the first time we went to Orlando. It was a bit rough back then but still managed to fall in love with the place. The derelict place used to be an all day buffet, can't remember the name of it but it went bust years ago. Has had a few different things since then but none have lasted. Great memories MM. Hopefully getting back soon to make some new ones.
Sorry, name of the place was really annoying me. 😄 Ponderosa Steak House. They did a great breakfast buffet. I'm not 100% that's the derelict place though. May have been the old tilted kilt. By the way, Perkins do a great breakfast if you can get there. Bakery stuff is 🤗
My husband and I went to Ripleys Believe it or Not and honestly walking up to it we were actually walking sideways...such a strange feeling. Loved it tho. X
Really enjoyed this one Mac, as I have said before my chance for a little tourism (escapism) thanks for the Blackpool nod ;-) I see what ya mean lol. I have always loved and been fascinated with everything about America, I have just never been. One of my favorites of the trip, you're living my dream dude. 😄
We first went to Florida (from the UK) in 1986 and International drive even then was like walking though Benidorm and it has not improved. We have been back many times, last time 4 years ago, we had a villa near the parks but we went to I drive to see if it had changed but apart from the upper end where the conv center is driving down to the other end and it is still full of eateries and gift shops and outlet malls, its so tacky but it kinda works.
Great memories for me as I did 1990 to 2005 every year in florida and especially international drive and kissiminee...thanks Lee it was great to see all the places but it looks a lot more quiet than when I went.
Thanks Sue. Unfortunately these kind of vlogs just don't get the views. The food ones get way more. Enjoyed filming it though. Glad you enjoyed. I guess people would rather see Fish and chips, burgers and fries and pizza. 😉👍🏼👍🏼
Brilliant content Lee...av been to Orlando twice now.i am from bonnie Scotland an got married there the second time at Cyprus Grove amazing place...Nice hotel is the double tree...the village Inn for breakfast aswell 😀 ...
Awww, thanks for the memories Lee! Was here for the first time in 2012, ate at loads of places that you’ve shown on here! Perkins Bakery was fantastic then, Apple & Cinnamon muffins were the bomb! Like you, we fell in love with the US and have been over loads of times and always love it! Can’t wait to come back! More of this please, a great trip down memory lane! Cheers!👍😊🏴🇺🇸
Cheers Lee. These are my favourite type of vlog. Remind me of the early Tenerife vlogs, walking up and down the front in Tenerife. Also the Gran Canaria ones. Hopefully more to come. 👍
Great vlog Lee. I think people revisit places hoping to recapture how they were years ago (me included). Somehow never works out as time moves on and things change, often not for the better. Looks a little like it's stuck in the '80s, a bit run down but nowhere near as run down as Blackpool. No history there, something Brits take for granted, a bit soulless.
Mac- My mate is from Orlando and that MacDonalds is 30 years old and is their R&D store where they teat ALL meals, etc. for quality / feedback, etc. is done there!!
I love those kind of buildings as well Lee, you ever thought about exploring abandoned buildings or abandoned sites in general? Would make a good series.
Well then Lee …. What a great walk down memory lane that was for us. Stayed on I Drive many times in early 90’s courtesy of ( now defunct ) companies such as Freddie Laker and Travel City. Probably stayed in that now derelict motel ! As you said it was such a novelty to watch daytime Tv . I can remember being excited at watching Bonanza at 7:30 in the morning ! When all we had was 3 channels . Top end of IDrive ( where Wet n Wild was ) there is place called Visitors Circle - great musical instrument dealer there and next door a gun and rifle range you could visit and use live ammunition ! Perkins great for bakery and home style food. Chillis was good too but who knows these days Keep up the great work , get out your factor 50 and a hat 👍🏻🇺🇸🍔 Howard
Where the giant wheel is at Icon Park, you have the tallest “Star Flyer” in the world, (that’s the swing ride that goes round and round at height). Love International Drive and I know you walked about 3 miles but that’s enough in searing heat. I think it’s about 12 miles or so in length if I’m thinking correctly but there are some amazing restaurants, cafes, bars and hotels along there. Don’t you just love the Florida heat, (well I do and I’ve done most of the States but Florida is still one of my favs). Nice one Lee 👍
Another great vlog lee. Sad to see the decline of international drive over the years though. It used to be the only street to go to in Orlando. Now I wouldn’t waste my hard earned.
Great Vlog Lee, remember all those places when I was there in April 2019, agree with your comments about The Pointe Orlando is more upmarket i stayed up that end of town. Great memories for me.👍
Enjoyed this one it brings back memories of walking down international Drive and going into the Titanic experience, hope I get the chance to visit Florida again as it is a wonderful place. Had a few breakfasts in Denny’s really good.
Alrate me duck. Just come across your videos as I'm prepping for a trip in June that was originally booked in 2019 before Covid came along. Good content and you won me over as a subscriber as soon as you said you're from Mansfield 😂
My missus and teenage stepdaughters (at the time) did the Titanic place. Said it was nowhere near as good as the ones in Liverpool and Belfast. (I was in the pub with my brother, priorities!).
The full English in the world cafe looked pretty decent. So did the Irish bar. It was like being “home from home”. Blackpool but with proper sunshine and palm tree’s!!😂. It’s fantastic you got to experience America as a young man Mc. You can clearly see your appreciation for those times and your present excitement for all things USA. It’s infectious!! I’m adamant that your best work on this channel has been done in America. Now I understand why it brings out the best in you!!👌. Great to see you out and about on a walking tour. You don’t see many Americans on walkabout though😂?? Again this vlog brings something “a little different and out of the box”. The BJ’s line was straight out the “Martin Joke book”. You should have many more followers as far as I am concerned. These videos are a breath of fresh air in what are troubled times my friend. You bring a much needed smile to all your subscribers and trust me it makes a difference. Thank you.x
Stayed in a Marriott low-rise type hotel on I-Drive back in maybe 1989 with my family, I don't recognise any of this lol! Not really surprising I guess. All I remember is there being a MacDonalds nearby, but nothing like that one.
I agree with your thoughts on visiting the US as a young kid and thinking it was a cornucopia. I grew up in Canada in border city with the US (Sault Ste. Marie) so we summer vacationed alot in the US. I concurr with the TV channels. There also were many more fast foods places to choose from that we would see from adverts watching US TV in Canada, but none of them actually in Canada. Many more flavors of breakfast cereal to choose from, again we could watch the adverts on US TV but not get the cereal at the Canadian grocery stores. Also, cans of pop on Canada back then (70's) were 10 oz. whereas in the US the cans were 12 oz., amazing! Maybe some of these fond memories from my childhood is why I just passed the 30 year mark of being a US resident.
Hahaha lee That was your helicopter getting back to your hotel lol Brilliant vlog lee really enjoyed it so informative Bet the beer tasted great after that hike!!!!! Cheers mate😊😊🍻🍻
Great Vlog again lee. We stayed at the Avanti Palms in 2018. After a few days there was a conference and stayover for people in recovery. It was like Ibiza on Acid. Not good for the family. That end of I drive is very much in the 80's. You can book with many UK travel agents who quote 4* or whatever but it is a dump. Onwards my friend X
Excellent stream Lee. I was surprised to see empty abandoned businesses in Florida. I cannot believe the weather. Snow in NYC yesterday, yet glorious sunshine in Florida 👍🏻👍🏻😁
Now! These E-Scooters are the absolute bane of a lot of Peoples lives! They are most often just abandoned - or - flytipped, as I like to say. I am not against mass transportation by any means….Just those that use them are those that are most likely banging the sustainability drum whilst polluting the locale. I am rather pleased with myself that I didn’t mention the phrase “Chav” here!!!
Thank you Lee.Hard work in all that heat. We have ate in Perkins and they do good deals and good food. They make the best pies ever in their bakery. Hope you get a few hours relaxation.🏝🍊🍓🍉🐊
Did you say it was called ‘International Dive’? A lot of the sunnier regions of the USA have buildings that look like they are built from cheap materials and the outside decor makes them look cheap and nasty. The reason is - the materials are cheap and not great quality, but they work well for the climate. As far as the external decor is concerned - forget it - it’s what’s inside that matters. BJs, Coldstone, etc - some good food places on ID, but it does look a little like Blackpool (or maybe Morecambe).
Hi just letting you know the little train u will find 1 exactly the same on North Pier Blackpool funnily enough LOL also they had that great big swing on the prom over the festive season and they have Ripley's Believe it or not. Blackpool yes. Have a good day thanx for the walk 🚶♀️ 😊
You are really enjoying yourself out there & it shows by all the reminiscing...lovely weather..what a shame all those motels are derelict..sign of the times just like our town centres & closed shops....it's progress I'm told..but at what cost..?? Keep up the great videos. Thanks 😊
Great video Lee. If James loves trains, take him to East Grinstead (15 minutes from Gatwick). There's a heritage railway called The Bluebell Railway. Its amazing, you'd both enjoy it for sure
It's nostalgia love. I so love old buildings and history. It's lovely to have you showing us around. It looks a lovely place there. I think you deserve a pint of beer to refresh yourself xxx
Great video stayed in a hotel & stomped up and down international drive in 2005 with my wife & son’s, since that holiday we have always stayed in a villa in Haines city lovely place to eat there called mannys chop house if you ever get a chance to go give it a try MacMaster 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Loved your vlog. Not been to international drive for about 12 years now. But does look a bit run down at the bottom end. We went on the helicopter ride all those years ago. But great to see it all in your vlog lee. I wonder if gator land is still on the go. And are you taking a trip to any of the theme parks on your visit.
This is the sort of vlog the Mac master is best at.
Thank you. 😎
Agree 👍

Spot on , a great place for a good old English fry up ! The staff were great too .

Yes, a new angle for the Mac master. The Urban explorer. That’ll be great 👍🏻 🌎
Thinking about visiting Orlando this November. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I found it very enjoyable.
We love the Hyatt Regency and the Pointe Orlando area. Walked from there to the International Premium Outlets in December (in the heat) so did your journey in reverse.
Brilliant video Lee Nice to see the scenery and what lovely weather.
Excellent Lee loved the walk and seeing all the different places 👍👍
Lee - I enjoyed that, it's great that you mix it up a bit, keep up the good work & enjoy your beer mate .

1982 I was in Orlando, our 5p was the same size as a quarter, we used the 5p on vending machines for drinks 🤩🤩🤩
Loved watching…great to see a glimpse of what Orlando is like outside of Disney…cheers Lee 👍😀

Also, cans of pop on Canada back then (70's) were 10 oz. whereas in the US the cans were 12 oz., amazing!
Maybe some of these fond memories from my childhood is why I just passed the 30 year mark of being a US resident.
Hahaha lee
That was your helicopter getting back to your hotel lol
Brilliant vlog lee really enjoyed it so informative
Bet the beer tasted great after that hike!!!!!
Cheers mate😊😊🍻🍻
You deserve that beer, thank you for your video, loves it. ❤
Good fun as ever Lee, your keeping fit whilst entertaining us 👍🏻😂😂
Very good, loved it
Millers is my favourite on I drive 🔥👌
Excellent stream Lee. I was surprised to see empty abandoned businesses in Florida.
I cannot believe the weather. Snow in NYC yesterday, yet glorious sunshine in Florida
👍🏻👍🏻😁
Really enjoy your videos. This one about International Drive has intrigued me / scared me :) Enjoy your trip !!
Stayed in the Avanti 5 times m8 …Bahama breeze, millers ale house ,and Magianos are amazing …….well jealous….enjoy
Yay going in sept for the first time ,always been a dream of mine to go and finally have the funds to do so ,,great vid mate thank you👍👍
Thank you Lee.Hard work in all that heat. We have ate in Perkins and they do good deals and good food. They make the best pies ever in their bakery. Hope you get a few hours relaxation.🏝🍊🍓🍉🐊
Perkins is beautiful so is Bob Evans and Denys can't go wrong my friend👍🏻
we used to eat at Perkins most of the time for our evening meal and for a cheep breakfast Ponderosa across from our Hotel, the Holiday Inn
Great video nice to see American way of life looks a nice place for a holiday enjoy your Guinness

That mr sushi’s wS fantastic when we were over in November, delivered to cabanabay and it was lovely 🇺🇸🏴
Perkins is great and we only just missed hulk hogan at his beach shop which is no where near the beach lol
In the States, we're all Irish on the 17th when beer tastes better. Coming up. Yorkshire fish and chips look lovely. 😋
Very insightful, enjoyed that⭐
Millers ale house worth a visit if you get the time. Nice food and a great selection of beers!
