I would like to know how to find my way point after I mark it. Great video. I have watched several videos on this unit but yours are the most informative.
I just found your channel and watched your video, and buddy thank You!! I am going to go back and watch the first Garmin video and do a little" settin'" up!! I will be watching for more.
Great Videos.I just picked Echomap 73sv switching from Lowrance .I am starting to fish bigger lakes and wanted to know will tracking auto start from ramp when I leave(so I don't get lost) or is there a setup process I need to do? Thanks
Yes it should start automatically. I usually make a waypoint for the ramp just in case, because sometimes it’s easier to get back that way instead of following tracks, especially if you have a lot of them.
Our Garmim 93sv GPS shows sea water temperature, speed, GPS locatıon, but no depth or bottom. İt shows moving vertıcal guides also. We have cleaned the transducer but nothing seems to fix this problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
Tough to tell without seeing the installation or connections. You’ve probably already tried it, but I’d start by resetting the unit and of course making sure the transducer is plugged in correctly. Aside from that, try calling Garmin support and see what they say. They have great customer service and should be able to help.
Rob, Have a question on the map overlay boxes? I don't seem them on my screen. Are they only in certain screens or in all? Just get all the numbers in the left hand corner of screen. Any ideas what i'm doing wrong or not doing?? Thanks!! Stay Safe & God Bless!!!!
Which screen are you on? If you’re on the map screen, you have to go into that menu and make sure overlays are turned on. Then you can change them by pressing the overlay for a couple of seconds. But the overlays won’t be the same for each screen. For instance, the SideVu overlay will be different than the map one. Hope that helps!
@@InstinctBassin I tried all screens but I'll give this one a try. On console I mostly use Charts and Clear Vue sometimes side vue and on front fishing charts & Clear vue
New to your channel- just bought a 93 and a 106- Learned a lot by just watching 2 of your videos. I can’t wait to watch more of your videos. Excellent job.
I have two 94SV's and I don't see a Panoptix button on either unit, but I also have not added Panoptix yet. Will the icons appear on the screen after I plug in the Panoptix unit? The plan is to connect the Panoptix and both Echomaps into the GMS10 so Liverscope can be seen on both Echomap units.
I notice on your Garmin screen you have both Panoptics as well as side imaging. How do you get both on the same unit? Do you need two transducers? Thanks.
The video was done on demo mode, but yes in order to have both you would need a side imaging transducer, such as the GT-54 or 56, and the Panoptix Livescope system, which includes the Livescope transducer. You normally wouldn’t use both of those on the same screen though, since Livescope is usually used on the trolling motor, which isn’t recommended for SideVu.
Thanks for watching. I have a video on how to do it, just check out my other videos and you should see it. If you don’t have the simulator on your unit, then you may need to download the files from Garmin. One of the later updates was too big to include the simulator.
Which of the Echomaps 93sv do you have? Plus, UHD? I have 2 of the Plus and according to the Users Manual they cannot be connected to share data. Did this change with the newer model UHD as I am seeing info that this can happen with the use of a pin type connector. I would appreciate you comments/suggestions as having a unit on the console and bow and no communication is far from ideal. I really like your concise video explanations. Thanks and keep it up.
Thanks for watching! I have the Echomap UHD units. To network them together, it just requires a network cable connected to the Panoptix Ethernet port on both units. I ran mine under my console and then through the starboard rod locker to the bow unit. I would need to know which specific units you have to confirm, but I believe you are correct in that the Plus units are not network compatible.
Just looked on Garmin’s website, and if you have the Echomap 93SV Plus, it should be network compatible via the same method I mentioned above. If you currently have Panoptix Livescope taking up that Ethernet port, you would need the Garmin network hub, but if not, it looks like they should be able to network. Let me know if that helps.
I have an Echomap Plus 93SV on the console and an Echomap Plus 92SV on the bow. I did this due to the maps I wanted 92 primarily for bay fishing and the 93 for Lake fishing. I jshould have waited and purchased the UHD units. I did see the Pantopix rg45 connection which I might try from what I have seen the cable to to the connection is fairly reasonable to purchase as I do not like the "Active Captain" function that allows the transfer of waypoints and the user data through several steps, to me that is worthless. Thanks for your input.
There’s been some debate about whether sonar noise actually affects bass or not. And I admit I haven’t been turning mine off as much this year. But it’s worth a try to see if it helps. As always, let the fish tell you.
@@chaching_fishin8786 you sure it wasn't on sale. Bass pro had theirs on the 10th. People lined up before opening. The 93s are over a thousand 11 or 12 hundred I maybe n were 699 or something for the sale.
Thanks for watching. From the Home Screen, it should be Settings, then Simulator (on/off). Be sure to turn it off before you get on the water, so it will display accurate information.
Can fish detect fish finders is a hot discussion. However, in reality, it's nearly impossible for fish to detect fish finders. Such devices don't produce enough noise or waves to make them detectable. Neither is the frequency the transducer transmits audible enough to scare or notify fish of danger.

Hi! Great videos! When you're in your garage doing these things, do you have the battery on a charger? Thanks! 😊
Thanks for watching. My boat has an onboard battery charger, which is usually plugged in, though not always.

@Martin Milton I’ve only used active captain to update the units. Here is a link to the cable you need: tinyurl.com/yckpdjdm
But can you change the boat symbol on a echomap? I´d like just an arrow or something small...
You can change the size of the boat symbol to small or large
@@InstinctBassin too bad, thanks
Great job on these videos, you explained the North up and Course up really well but do you know what the Head up means?
I think that only comes into play if you have a pre set course you are following. But I don’t use that one often, so check to be sure.
@@InstinctBassin thank you!
like your video, you explained it quite well.

How do I get the corner boxes on my 93V
Great videos, very complete 👏 👍 👌

If you clear tracks will it just clear tracks on the lake your on or all your tracks on all lakes.
It would clear all of them, so you’d want to save any tracks you want to keep before you clear them.
What you doing on the stick marsh map?
Sorry, can you clarify the question a bit?
you mention sc"aring fish in shallow water.. hmm, fishing out of a kayak and fishing shallow inlets off of lakes often. how shallow/too close ?

VERY helpful. Thank you!

What is the benefit or purpose of turning the sonar off?
It’s not good to leave it running out of the water for too long, but mainly I turn it off if I’m fishing shallow water and don’t want to spook fish.
What is panning? Stop & start?
Panning is just when you move the navigation screen around with your hand. Stop panning will put it back on center.
So what is that (stop panning) do?
That just comes up if you move the map around. If you hit stop panning, it will go back to your current location.
Thank you
Great info

Thanks for watching and for the sub 🤙🏼
Fish finders dont ping on a frequency fosh will pick up. The sonar on a fish finder is not thatt strong
Thanks for the comment. But this seems debatable. Do you some evidence to go by? Not saying you’re wrong, but just claiming something isn’t evidence.
Why did you not say what (head up) is?
