Today, we're introducing you to a fantastic supplement for all your plants, like peppers, tomatoes, and cucumbers. It's something you probably toss out every day without realizing its potential. When it comes to making sure your plants thrive, the soil needs some extra love in the form of nutrients. Usually, that means adding stuff like compost or manure before planting.
But don't worry if you don't have any manure lying around. We've got a simple solution that'll work wonders. Tomatoes, especially, crave potassium as they grow and ripen. That's where our secret ingredient comes in handy.
Along with potassium, your plants need nitrogen and phosphorus too. Nitrogen helps leaves flourish, while phosphorus is crucial for strong roots. Potassium, on the other hand, helps regulate water and nutrient levels within the plant.
Today, we're using banana peels to give our plants the boost they need. We'll chop them up into smaller bits to help those nutrients get absorbed better. It's best to go organic with your bananas, but if you can't, make sure to give them a good wash.
Banana peels in water for a couple of days then water your vegetables!
Yes, it works!!!!- been doing it more than a decade
Good tip, thanks.
I'm going to try it. So cool.
This absolutely works for all plants that like potassium.... I have been using it on my plants for about 5 years.
Thank you so much, my dear friend. Thank you for all your kindness and support and I’m here giving love and support back to you. Thanks for another great chitchat and some great garden tips.
Why not use blender to chop peelings. Seems more efficient

Why cut the banana peel into the little jar & not straight into the bucket of water?! 😂
For measurement I guess
Thanks
Why strain out the peels? Wouldn't they just add good mulch to the garden?
we put that in our compost pile
@@slickgarden1 Good idea.
Coincidentally, I just made banana muffins but don’t know what the ratio of water/banana peels is for which plants.
What NPK of banana peel?
TIS IS FIRST TIME CLEAR THAT MIXTURE FROM BANANA PEELS EQUALLY WORKS FOR BOTH TOMATOES AND CUCUMBERS
PLANTS. ONE THING TOMATOES REQUIRE CALCIUM. DOES THIS MIXTURE PROVIDE CALCIUM ALSO ?
Can you use this on peppers? Watermelons? Thanks
Yes
How about potassium supplement?
I’ve never experienced so many know it all comments. Use the suggestion or not and/or modify as you see fit. Be nice.
Be very careful using manure these days. If the animal ate crops exposed to grazon, it will unalive your garden... for years and years to come. Many of us organic types have had to find other alternatives. Many farmers have been put out of biz , livlihoods and crops lost, land ruined....
is it just banana/ nothing else
Why no just dissolve some potassium vitamins in water and pour that on?
of course !! muslims ...
whats the point dont bother
Excellent use of a waste product but I eat my organic bananas with skin on . Just slice into 1/2 inch pieces for the best fibre source ( I waste the stalks).
Now that is also interesting
I planted bananas b4 .
I didn't know the skin can be eaten together.
I usually use banana skins to make banana tea for my plants.tq for info.❤
