- THIS CAR SOLD IN JUNE 2020 shortly after this video was posted. The seller, my friend Deaune, made and narrated several videos on his smart phone, but he does not know how to do TH-cam and he is not a professional videographer. I cobbled the video together for him and posted it. He sold the car for his asking price.

14-minute informal walkaround video (plus underside)
FOR SALE June 2020... The following description is given:
One of only 815 made. Dakota red, white top, red and white leather by Jenkins Interiors. Car has had a four-year meticulous frame off restoration that is laser straight and top quality, completed by a 57/58 Cadillac specialist (co-author of the 57/58 Cadillac authenticity book for the national Cadillac LaSalle Club).
For safety and reliability the car has several updates:
• LS Engine (same as the Cadillac Escalade);
• GM 4L60 transmission;
• disc brakes;
• Vintage Air Conditioning (including extensive work to make the louver air vents come out of dash like late model cars, much better than the inefficient original vents that come out of the windshield defroster area);
• sabre-style wheels by Valley Wire Wheels;
• wide whitewall Michelin tires;
• original radio updated with AM/FM stereo (including input jacks and rear speakers that remove and reinstall easily);
• large four-row high-fin-count radiator and shroud;
• electric door locks with alarm;
• right front outside mirror moved forward 1.5 inches for a better view; and modern mirror visibility (“objects in mirror are closer than they appear”).
The car comes with the original parade boot that has been reinforced (not the poorly fitting aftermarket version), plus two quarts of the original paint and extra leather (in case it is ever needed).
The photos speak louder than any words, the details are what make the car very special. On the road, the car is a joy to drive: reliable, powerful, smooth, safe. It is so beautiful, it attracts attention at every event, around every corner, and leading every parade. This is not a car to hide away; this is a car to drive and enjoy.
Thank you very much for showing us possibly one of the most beautiful cars ever built. My Great Grandmother ordered the 58 hardtop model, only for it to show up as a convertible. Instead, she went for the Fleetwood model with the extended deck. I wasn't born until 68, but by then, it was garaged. She ensured it was in superior working order, and I was obsessed with it. It only had 18k miles when she passed, and my relatives sold it to a guy who took that beauty and parked it in a field. Everyone knew she wanted it to go to me, but I was 9 and couldn't have cared for it properly.
LMAO! I bet there was a line of people fighting one another to buy this car. Sir, thank you for sharing it with us here on TH-cam. You should be commended for your obvious tireless attention to detail work you've done to this automobile over the years. She is stunningly beautiful. Thank you!
Very beautiful car.
It's a pity that they don't produce such cars now.
An exquisite automobile. You should be very proud of your work. The additions you made were done beautifully. We owned a 1957 Sedan de Ville, and I only wish it looked as lovely as this car. I was curious to know what this car has sold for. I think a collector like Jay Leno would want this beauty.
Dear John Dog,
You are an artist! That 1958 Cadillac Biarritz is the most beautifully restored vehicle I have ever saw in my life! I am restoring a 1976 Ford Pinto Squire and I hope to have it showroom new but I have a long way to go, so I have made restoring my lil Pinto Squire a serious hobby that I plan to complete one day too. You have been an inspiration to me and I thank you!
This is the best restoration I have ever seen. My hat is off to you sir from another. Cadillac man
I will pass this comment on to my friend, the owner and restorer... Thanks!
Congratulations, the highest caliber Caddy ever. Thanks for sharing this beauty with us, you must be the proudest person on earth.
Beautiful car and beautiful presentation!
Gorgeous car. I bet whomever has it is loving it. Such a beauty. Safer and more comfortable than the way it came from the factory.
Beautiful restoration of the last year that the Eldorado cars were hand built in the Cadillac custom facility. The "gaudy" 1959 was a assembly line car and less car than its predecessors going forward. Rarely heard any comments on this; apparently nobody noticed that all the GM cars were cheaper. I saw it when my Dad traded his '58 Chevy for a '59. Winching a newer motor into this masterpiece because the original wasn't reliable? Horsefeathers! This motor, which must have been a tricky swap, is a novelty and detracts rather than enhances.
What a beautiful classics. Rare beauty
They didn't make cars back then, they made art you could drive.
The Cadillac is my most favourite American car. It is most beautifully designed.
My dream car! Have a poster of one of these beauties since I was twelve. One day...one day.

What a stylish car
I saw one of these in Idaho Falls back in the 60s with the fins removed. It was a hardtop though.
I loved the car until you opened the hood!!! For what it is, you did do a beautiful job! Attention to detail....
Dream car
It seems like this beauty doesn’t get driven at all. Had I got one, I would keep it in a closet 😀👍

Biutyfor Cadillac: biuty, biuty, biuty.
THIS VIDEO FLAT SUCKS!! A person comes out with a camera to show the car, BUT THE CAT MUST OF GOT THEIR TONGUE BECAUSE DON‘T SPEAK OUT TO TELL WHAT THEY KNOW ABOUT THE HISTORY TO THE CAR.
It's ah, it's ah, it's ah........... Terrible audio!
This guy is obviously not in the greatest health, which is probably why the car is for sale. There is no way of knowing how many countless hours he spent on this beauty.
@@Johnnyfan1982 People should turn up the volume and not criticize this man’s voice and audio setup.
Gorgeous until you opened the hood. Boo.
