Spectacular!!!!! ❤❣🥰 12 and a half minutes is just not long enough though. I watched this video twice already, what a stunningly beautiful church. May God bless you Sergey and thank you for such a beautiful video treat ☺☦💙💜🤍🤗 I want to watch it again and again after that 🤗
so wonderful, thank you to show me the places I had the chance to visit some years ago and hopefully next year we can travel again to explore wonderful Russia, спосибо Сергей😍
Dear Serghei God bless You,too, and help you find Our Blessed Mother Mary 💖 words,on the walls of a church in Sankt Petersburg!!!Thank you for showing us these beautiful 🥰🙏👏🤗amazing Churches, now I am not surprised that Blessed Virgin Mary choosed Sankt Petersburg ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Thank you Sergey for showing this magnificent church. The art work depicting Christ's ministry as per New Testament. If it was built in 1907 thank God it survived the revolution
In Moscow, there is a church in Novospassky Monastery, that has a painted interior that is filled with comforting energy. Next door is the cemetery with the wonderful grave marker of Nikita Khrushchev. He looks so happy. There is a lovely pond next to the monastery. Across the street is a nice cafe and a post office where I tried to mail a gift to Mr. Putin, but the girls said a month earlier they were told not to accept any mail directed to him.
Very impressive example of what one might term Art Nouveau Byzantine. Thank you. I am surprised that the Soviets didn't demolish a site so closely linked to Tsar Alexander II, the Liberator Tsar for Russia's serfs - he went against the revolutionaries' narrative of a non-progressive autocracy. Are services still held there occasionally?
The fresco of the main dome has been changed; previously there were Jewish faces of saints, which can be found on a collection of postcards printed back in Soviet times.
Too late to answer probably, but the faces of saints and holly figures in Russian iconography are not black initially. They were painted using either tempera paint or oil. In case of using tempera paint (made out of eggs) it was usually covered by another layer of protective oils that contained metal. The metal oxidized and there you are, the face and the other parts of the icon got darker. In the second case, the oil gets darker through time too. Just look at some oil painting from 16th and 17th centuries that are not restored iland kept in museums. You will notice that they are extremely dark. Another reason that gets on top of that is that during the ceremonies in Russian Orthodox churches a lot of frankincense is used. Daily priests walk around inside the church "smoking" frankincense. Also there are a lot of candles in Russian churches that produce a lot of soot too. It layers on the walls and the icons in the church. So, oxidization and soot throughout years cover the icons and the faces get darker. Some Russian icons get so dark, that you cannot see anything on them at all. Many icons get cleaned up. But even after some restoration, due to natural process of paints and oils reacting with each other, it is almost impossible to bring colors back. Add also that some of the icons are literally half a thousand years old. So, obviously many of them get dirty through this time due to people touching them, kissing them (in Russia, it is a traditional Orthodox thing to "press" your lips to the icon). Many of the icons had to go through the periods. of revolution, ww2 and other turbulent times, when they were hidden, some even buried like treasures So, this is why they get so dark. Not because people wanted to paint saints in dark colors
@@hopelopim4212 thank you, It's just that those particular images have a much darker hue than all the others I saw.....💕 If the Church is/was a compilation of followings (Christianity), it seems appropriate. Your answer is still very much considered.
Glory to Orthodoxy, glory to Russia and glory to the mysterious and wonderful angels who protect her.

MERVEILLEUSE CATHEDRALE ......

Is that the image of the black Madonna 4:05 to the left of the Savior?❤

Was this church damaged during WW 2?
Tatiana may have been there, but she didn't stay there. The girl visited me. Now I'm wondering if I should visit her. I do not want to.
🤩😍❤
the earth being round is still the biggest truth bomb ever dropped 🌍
they have one of them in Yekaterinburg
Correct. I used to show that to you too when I was in Ekaterinburg. Not from inside though.
I think they need music there, church music.
In the Orthodox church there is a church choir. And not classical instruments.
They have a spiritual choir there. I once was making the live stream here from their concert.
