I think it needs clarifying that while there was a corporate building for Singer in St Petersburg, Russia had nothing to do with the invention or development of Singer machines. The building was built in 1904, but Singer was founded in 1850-1853 in Boston and then New York. By 1904 it was a worldwide company which dominated the sewing machine market.
