Do you think that The Orville is parallel to what Galaxy Quest could have been as a t.v. show?
I tried watching that show and, whatever it was trying to be, I was not impressed.
I really liked the first two seasons of Orville and I think it's the closest thing to Galaxy Quest we got in later years. However, I bet a Galaxy Quest series would really give the Orville a run for its money.
My thanks for another insightful breakdown for another of my favorite films. I’ll assume you have seen Moon. My first exposure to Sam Rockwell. Another wonderful sci-fi character study. I look forward to further engagement.
I did see Moon around 2010 and I think Sam is great in about everything he does. Galaxy Quest and Green Mile are my favorite of his but the isolation of the character in moon is very interesting.

Definitely agree, he was great in both those rolls, The Green Mile being exceptional. Im always impressed with an actor who can carry a roll where he is the sole protagonist. Granted he had Spacey voicing the AI but it’s quite the accomplishment for any actor. I had forgotten Green Mile released ten years before Moon. Hard to believe he’s 55.

Bad guy is named after the film critic Andrew Sarris, who according to EW at the time badmouthed one of producer Mark Johnson's previous films, akin to his rival Pauline Kael's surname was given by George Lucas to the bad guy in "Willow".
