I did small cover duet, I used microphone condensser and my partner recorded with his iPhone, when I tried to mix it the quality isnt so different, I can still balance it smoothly without having hard time and the two sound different quality. But you might be careful with clipping and puh buh sound if u record with phone without pop filter
