I love that the moodlet you get when your Sim drinks the Beetle Juice three times is a playful moodlet that reads "It's Showtime!" It's honestly one of my favorite deaths in the game.
In city living if you eat curry and play basketball you get the hot like curry icon and become extremely good at it. The icon has a jersey number of 30 and is a reference to steph curry
As a long time player whenever I see these kind of videos from other creators I almost always know all those little "unknown secrets" but whenever you post these, I find myself actually learning a few things 😂 I didn't know the bus stop in Henford was usable or about the mushroom seat, Batuu droid or the 4th spectre 😅
About fact 35: the sim must be a spellcaster in order to get the stronger bloodline trait. If the sim with the bloodline trait isn't a spellcaster and has a baby with a non-spellcaster sim, the bloodline trait will actually weaken. Fact 10 uses a part in the cuddle animation. So it isn't exclusive to high-level politicians. Fun fact about 15: the reason why the gold bar sells for 6,006 Simoleons is because these numbers upside down spell out poop. It was said in one of the Cats and Dogs developer livestreams. When I was taking a look into the fact 20 years ago, I found out that it even ages up vampires. It won't cause their death though, but I made Vlad into an elder though. It won't work on ghosts. Additional fun fact about 26: having your sim die there while there are sharks or piranhas in there will actually feed the fishes. Fact 30: revealing someone's mermaid status will allow you to see mermaids being mermaids while playing with the household. So discover a mermaid and then you'll see mermaids swimming. Becoming a mermaid also helps. Overall, a great video. I didn't know about mushroom chairs, but they make a nice reference to Makin' Magic for me.
Father Winter's baby gets kind of a raw deal when it comes to having a special heritage, huh? The kid should at least be able to always successfully give gifts! The kid playing with the fish pond was quite cute, though -- and it was cool to see the Mother Plant's gifts in action!
Peoples say the game is boring, but when you think about it there's actually a lot of features and things you can do. It's just that peoples usually play a more normal and realistic gameplay and don't bother with the silly things.
Additionally, if you add a unique Batuu character like Kylo or Rey to your household, you will permanently break the Batuu questline as these characters are not replaced like other special NPCs (such as Father Winter or Agnes Crumplebottom) are. They will be permanently removed from Batuu in that save and you won't be able to complete any assignments involving them.
Oh my gosh Abi number 13! You just saved everyone's dinner time with sims so they can finally sit together. 😂 I never even noticed this, I usually just take the meal put it in the table I want them to eat together at then force them to not leave and go to another table. 😂😂
I don't know if those things are well know or already was spoken/talked about, but here's some stuff that I know about pack, cross-pack and miscellaneous features: Seasons - you can create a proper Halloween holiday (as it is not in the calendar by default), traditions like "spooky spirit", "trick or treat", "mischief spirit" and "use fantasy" are all there (my game is in portuguese, so idk how it's actually written in english), you just have to create the holiday. And it has cross-pack feature with the "spooky stuff", meaning that some traditions will be completed if you carve a pumpkin and get candy from that candy bowl item (also it's a great holiday to thrown a costume party also from the spooky stuff pack). City living - with the "street vendor table" item, children can sell stuff in there like any sim, so you can sell cakes and baked goods. If you have the "backyard stuff pack" you can even sell the lemonade made in that item by dragging the glasses to your inventory and putting them on the street vendor table's inventory (not as convenient as that "little bakers" table from sims 3 ambitions or the lemonade stand from sims 2 open for business, I know... But you can "pretty much" do the same if you really liked those items). Also: this table is featured in other packs like eco lifestyle and jungle adventure, so I think it's just as usable Discover University - You can Mentor sims to get some extra cash even if you're not enrroled in any university by clicking in the selectable buildings of the campus (you must have enough skill level to Mentor in something)
Did you know that Kits are (technically) part of Stuff Packs? If you look in your game files, they start at SP19 (Bust the Dust) and continue from there.
@@Lemony123 could be. But I don't like the idea of it. It only contains either cas or build items and unlike stuff pack which we get exclusive item that works differently (like laundering, knitting, icecream maker etc). I prefer stuff pack honestly.. sometimes it even has small new features other than items

13:30 that’s all I ever wanted from that expansion: for my droid to follow me around in the normal game. Well, that and it would be nice if droids could behave like cleaner bots.
There is a little cross-pack content in Werewolves. There is some lore between werewolves, vampires and spellcasters. Because of that, a new wand for spellcasters can be found in debug mode (I don't know if you can find it with normal gameplay)
Amazing video as always, Abi! Your videos are one of the only ones where I actually learn something new about the sims most of the time :D Also I haven't used the actual knitting skill basically since it came out, so I didn' tknow about the Lil' Grim interaction with the actual Grim and it's ADORABLE :3
I really appreciate videos like this! Anything that might help make gameplay better (which is desperately needed). My only thing is for videos like this time stamps are great so that we can re-visit the video to remind ourselves of certain things (well for people like me). However, happy to just get videos like this. Thank you for your time and sharing
Yes, to a part 2. I would also love to see a video showing all the hidden Easter eggs from other games and movies that the Sims team sneaks in, I doubt I've even found half of them. 🥚👀
I love these videos a lot! thanks for all the new tips & info, I'll probably rewatch all the different ones you've done so I can remember what pack has what hidden tricks
Spell caster with any of the blood line traits don't need to have a good friendship with the sages for them to teach them new spells and potions. If a spell caster have an alien baby with an alien, then, when he ages up to teen, he CAN become spell caster. Aliens with both the alien abilities and being spell casters.
I actually like how the special NPC's in the star-wars pack actually have their actual voiceactors/actors with em. Must've cost EA a pretty penny for that and it just sound very normal for them speaking Simlish cuz, well, it just sounds like almost alot of non-galatic-basic (english) languages.
As someone who has played this game since it came out and has over 5k hours on it this is an amazing video! There was genuinely some many things I didn’t know ❤
I feel like there are so many of these that I haven't done because I spend so much time just trying to keep my Sims alive and happy 😂 Can't do anything at night for example because my Sims have to sleep ready for work! And heaven forbid I choose to play as a farmer! Realistically, getting through all the animals and plants takes all day!
Yeah, the animals just inhale all of the time and there is no real helping tool for it. I'd wish there was an option to just get them all done at once, like you can do with plants with higher gardening skill.
Try getting seldom sleepy (you will only have to sleep every other night) or playing as a vampire (dark meditate every time it’s available instead of sleeping). I do a lot of skill building and aspiration completing because of these.
@@lylavati They really really do! Especially if you make the mistake like I always do of getting the bugs as well 😂😂 Because they just die if you're not there 24/7!
@@HeidiSholl I never had the bugs. 🙈 I decided to just have chickens, these are quite easy to take care of and if you spent some time (or cheat) and turn them into golden chickens, they make your whole garden perfect. A gardener and a few bee hives are also very useful. Then you just have to harvest yourself. The scarecrow is a pain in the a** tbh. 😂 I don't like that you have to buy so many stables for the larg animals. Seems a bit odd to me.
That is likely solved (I say likely since I play with some mods, so might be a bug solved in a random mod I have). I'm currently playing someone with an ancient bloodline and she's the highest level.
The yellow ghosts are rare? 😮 Please tell my haunted house, because they are around every other day. How do these other fears appear? 😅 Is there some sort of style in gameplay or traits or something that influences them? My Sims in every savegame only have "Fear of Unfulfilled Dreams" and it is a bit annoying.
@@ember9361 I meant the ghosts he mentioned being rare in a haunted house. It is point 44 at 13:48 ... Well, apparently they are called "specters", I did not know that. 😅
Hey, I was wondering if any of you has this problem where after joining secret society from University you won't get random sprites visits like back then when the pack was first released. I don't know if it's because of a mod or Maxis intencionally removed it, and wanted to know if anyone else has this problem
I got that mermaid expansion pack thingy since released and I still haven't played around it. 😂 I have never even visited the map nor i have seen a mermaid ever hahahha
I’m SO glad they added that feature so your sim with the Dormant Wolf trait can actually utilise it rather than it just being a trait that’s just there and they can’t pass on! Still a shame there no possibility that it can skip a generation though :/
Another really cool fact is when your sim is pregnant, if you’d like your sim to have a baby girl get your sim to eat strawberries throughout the pregnancy and your sim will give birth to a girl!
For a very long time I missed most of these secrets because I insisted on trying to play the game properly. After so many years of patches and updates to my hardware I eventually resigned to the fact that the game is just broken and it's a lot more fun if you cheat. The old games got boring if you cheated because they'd be too easy but Sims 4 is easy without them. Take as many short cuts as you like, it's your game so it's not really "cheating"!
The politician kissing babies was probably because in America, it is often custom for parents to ask politicians to hold/ kiss their babies as a sort of photo op thing
Father Winter's baby can also see the monster under the bed, even as an adult. It doesn't scare them, though.
Cool! I didn't know that.
