This is probably my favorite episode of Gravity Falls. They really leaned into the horror aspect. I’m actually surprised it made it passed Disney censors. I think Dipper and Pacifica always had some form of chemistry so it was fun to see it turn into the beginnings of a relationship.
I only just noticed that when he told Pacifica to join him in the panic room, he didn't mention his wife at all when mentioning how they'll divvy up the resources
I know right, the way she holds up her dress and her hair is bobbing up and down is very cute Another thing people tend to cut out is when Pacifica makes Dipper's tie, the way she goes up to him so naturally and he's completely unfazed is a striking showcase of how comfortable they are around each other Despite their mutual contempt and hostility
To this day I'm still shocked that some of the stuff in this episode made it onto Disney Channel. This is one of the best episodes of Gravity Falls, but it's also really fucking creepy

This episode has the deepest Nightmare Fuel that I've seen in Gravity Falls. Between that unsettling Northwest Bell ringing and the spirit turning everyone into lifeless wood, it has a mental & physical dark field to hold.

They did well humanising pacifica in this episode creating this connection between her and dipper and they really could've explored her character more
