    Thank you for the tutorials, nice video as always!
    I ended up uninstalling 21.04, I had problems with Bluetooth and sound output devices. I got a work-around but it involved going to the terminal every time I switched sound devices... Will try again in a few months, this is a great distro.

    • @HadesTimer
      @HadesTimer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know what your running but if you tried 21.04 prior to last week. I think most of your problems would be solved with the actual release version that just came out. All of mine were and I was having trouble with audio devices in the beta.

    • @eddas5175
      @eddas5175 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @gilkesisking Yep I installed it, in fact it was the last step I took that solved for me, but it wasn't automatic. When I disconnected my headphone, pavu would switch to my speaker but still no sound would come out. I had to open the settings, select another output and then select the speakers again for it to work.
      I will definitely try again in a few weeks, other than that issue everything else was pretty smooth. Hopefully things get resolved or I build enough patience to tinker some more before giving up haha.

    I could do with the DAY of the week displayed with the date and time..(I am often not sure what day of the week it is lol) but I have to say they have now made Pop almost exactly what I wanted... another thing I would like is for it to be possible to colour the title bars of open boxes/apps .....I do like the title bar to stand out, It seems to help with the clarity.

      if you still need it, manjaro gnome has a very nice windows-like layout preset. you may launch live manjaro gnome from a usb, choose the "traditional" layout from the "layouts" app, take note of the active extensions, and install them on pop os. i want that kind of desktop as well, so this is what i'm going to do when i have some time

    Pop OS is good for newbies, but pop shop lacks many apps. I think it has to include snaps like Ubuntu does. Because if, say, my grandmom will use Pop OS she won't be able to install some apps because she doesn't know about snap and only uses pop shop. I like Pop OS, it's the best distro for regular users (non computer geeks users) but has to include more apps in shop

      Timeshift is pre-configured for system backup and has easier way to restore. You need to do those things manually in Grsync I guess.

    Let's go Brandon! Great video!...I watched it because I'm looking forward to my first experience with Pop_OS! on a laptop ordered a few days ago, from the company that brought the distro into existo.

      Timeshifr doesn't make any distro unstable unless you leave it set to the OOTB defaults and let it keep filling up that distro-installed storage drive with a crap ton of daily auto backups.
      I agree that this is something the Timeshift devs....REALLY should disable by default and instruct the end user to ensure he or she targets a different drive... Which one should do anyways

    Just downloaded and installed this on an external SSD and unfortunately I can't get the screen to fit my external monitor which is a 43" 4k LG tv so the docks on the bottom and top aren't on the screen on the tv but they are fine on my laptop monitor no matter what I do I can't fix it and media plays horrible on it laggy and out of focus so far not impressed

    I don't understand why they waste so much time on developing their own dock, when Dash to Dock and Dash to Panel work so well. I just switched to Pop_OS because they were doing such a great job and then they came up with Cosmic crap. Maybe a developer can answer that question. Is it easier to develop and maintain your own dock or just implement Dash to Dock and or Dash to panel? Especially since that's what most people will install anyway. I really would love to hear someone explain why this is necessary. Is this a business decision or a design flaw. In it's current state, i will switch my OS before i use it. Thank God for Dash to Dock.

      To be honest, for me, it just feels simpler and runs better to have the dock built in.
      Honestly, just because they added their own dock doesn't mean that you can't use your own anyways. It just makes it more user friendly and for people who prefer it that way or don't want to download extra software for a dock, it's nicer and better.
      I don't get why you don't like them adding more features built in. Sure, you might have a different preference... but that just means that there is no difference even if they add more options.

      @@TheDeathmail They have added many great features to Ubuntu. That is why i switched to Pop_Os. This is not one of those features. I'm glad that you are happy and i can still use Dash to Dock. But i don't see any added benefit whatsoever nor do i hear the thunderous stampede of windows users flocking to the new cosmic dock. It just seems like they are wasting resources fixing something that isn't broken. I guess i'm hoping someone will come back from vacation and right the ship before it hits the iceberg and get them back on course of making "beneficial" changes. God bless you and enjoy this ground breaking new technology.
