    Hi Erika! Great content! These are great ideas. The intro forum is simple, but a lot of instructors overlook it. The students love it!

      Thanks! And I completely agree. I haven't taught any course without an intro forum activity. It's a key element when starting the semester.

    The only Ice Breaker I Know is the national anthem which we all rise for to start the day (this was practiced at school)

      Lol, I teach a lot about fairy tales and fantasy literature in my children’s literature courses, so I couldn’t resist adding that book to my background bookshelf.

    AT least i got my internet Signal, this time - but then again I don't usually have this laptop near the table. lol so maybe the electrical is in this wall, or something? who knows something changes over here - but it's cool review & will have to re-review. because icebreakers are a good idea. There are always lots of ways to approach a situation & it's all in how we choose. We can only hope we make the right choices, as I think things can go a little more smoothly this way. But we know we say stupid things and make bad choices, too.. lol That's just being human....

      I love the bingo idea too that was new to me! I typically do a Jeopardy game with them but this would be an additional fun game.

    • @EverEducating

      Yes, I’ve played jeopardy for exam review. Another great game, though takes more time to create!

      @@EverEducating so true! time consuming indeed but the great part is that once you make them for exams you can just reuse them every semester.

    Thanks for the great points icebreakers for online classes. I use the first one for all of my classes as a a discussion post but the music one was new to me! Thanks for sharing.

    I love these suggestions! Bingo is my favorite but the playlist is running a very close second. Thanks for sharing!

    • @EverEducating
      @EverEducating  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m glad you love them!! I love bingo, but the playlist is definitely a lot easier to use if you don’t have enough time to design the bingo game.

      Thanks! I use Canva to make my graphics (including memes). I've linked to it in the description.

      I looooove Canva for this type of graphics! It's free for the students and most of them use it already.

    These are more like discussion board ice breakers than interpersonal/interactive ice breakers.

    • @EverEducating
      @EverEducating  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’d say the class bingo is the only fully interpersonal/interactive one, since it can’t really be done well with a board. The others can definitely use a board (sharing the music or memes that way, for example), but can also be more interactive. For example, screen sharing the memes or music and discussing them together. The format for most of these will really depend heavily on how synchronous the class is (or is not).

    Some nice ideas here thanks, can i just give u one small advice, can you try to speak more clearly when you explain things, i notice you mumble a lot and dont pronounce words properly.

    • @EverEducating
      @EverEducating  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m glad you liked the ideas! And, yeah, I’m still working on my video presence. The camera nerves can definitely get me talking so fast that words get jumbled! That’s why I try to manually edit the CC of as many videos as I can. But more clarity is something I’ll keep working on improving. This video has the CC edits, in case you need clarification on any of the ideas!
