I tried your Snowball Game today with different Classes, the students enjoyed it so much ! Thank you a bunch for sharing your valuable & amazing activities! God Bless you & All the best 👍
Awesome video, I am teaching a huge group of children about 30 in Nicaragua and I was looking for some material who I could use for my class and found this fun activity is great for me and my pupils. Thanks a lot for sharing that. Best.
this is a good idea! I'm taking a part time job as a social worker, and I'm going to use this for a parenting session. I hope this will lead the way for parents to feel open and comfortable
Thanks for the video! I've always liked this activity for an icebreaker, and I've also done some twists on it as an emotional intelligence activity for homeroom classes, a way to form groups, and other conversation activities. Great way to have people move around physically and laugh together.
Can you tell me please the verb used in this sentence" After that each piece of paper should be .............." I didn't hear it well . Thank you for your efforts madam .I will use this game in my class 🌺🌺
Dear Jenny, thanks for giving ideas and teaching us how to teach perfectly within games, I am going to ask about modal verbs, how can teach my students with the games and with what kind of games? do u have idea
Hello! Thank you for your kind words of support! Yes, sure, I know one game we play while studying modal verbs. Stick photos of 3-4 celebrities or fiction characters that your students like and stick them on the board for the students to see. Before playing the game prepare prompts for making sentences on peaces of paper and put them face down on a desk. They should follow the pattern: verb +something else and be somehow connected with the celebrities you chose for the game. For example, if they are Batman, Miley Cyrus and Ronaldo, the verb phrases can be “fly high and fast”, “put on lipstick”, “wear football shorts” etc. Divide your students into 2-3 teams. The teams should in turns pick up a verb phrase, read it aloud for the other teams to hear and then after 1 min every team should come up with a sentence about any of the celebrities. The sentence should include the verb phrase and a modal verb. For example, if it is “wear lipstick”, the sentences can be : Batman doesn’t have to wear lipstick because he usually wears a mask Miley Cyrus should wear lipstick or lipgloss to look more attractive Ronaldo mustn’t wear lipstick because his fans want to respect him for his masculine qualities. I hope you grasp the idea! 😉
I like this idea but I think I’m going to make them fold the paper rather than crumble it up and put it in a box rather than 1:18 in the Snowball The reason I say this is that it’s going to be hard enough to read each other’s writing anyway if they are students especially in my case just Toey students learning basic English so I’m going to ask them to fold it up and put it in a box I wouldn’t play the piano and do like musical chairs as they post box around I will stop and that person must take out the paper and unfold it to show what the details are and read them out I like this idea better because as I said the words will not be crumpled up and hard to read but I will certainly use my modified idea of yours thank you
Thanks for sharing this activity, it's funny but I think we don't need to crumple the paper, this creates bad habits for students not to protect their notebooks, and this crumpled paper can't reuse. In stead of crumpling the paper, we can use a ball to pass the ball game, and students look at the paper to read the sentence. In the second time, they will answer/ read but not using the paper, and they can reuse it in other lessons. It's just my opinion hihi.
Also, how to make reading interesting for pupils of grade 3-4 who are in remedial classes ? The strength of pupils would be 2-5 in each remedial class. Thanks. 😊 ❤from UAE
Check out this activity! 😉My students really fell for reading after we started using Instant Drama. th-cam.com/video/zHKkSI_H2K4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=smya6W1t8Y3vlQvk
Yes, Ryma, you are right! 👍💕 The game can easily be changed for younger learners: They can draw a picture that represents their hobby or what they like. For example, to draw waves that stand for "I like swimming" or a flower for "I like flowers"
You are right, this activity is most suitable for groups of 10-15 students. For 30 students I would recommend Question Chairs game th-cam.com/video/AZeIw4dz4ew/w-d-xo.htmlsi=xH2f7PYMRXGibMGO
Sure! We played this game with my university students. The only difference is the level of English. University students used more advanced grammar and a wider range of vocabulary for making sentences.
