I'll never forget this night. My father had just passed away. I was a Republican back then, but I said, "This man will be President someday."

Wow. and that's when we all used to watch each other's conventions because there was actual valid information and insight in each one. Gosh. Thanks for sharing that. I remember not being impressed with that night only because there were so many smart correct people who had mics back then and I was around so many, that I didn't have to cherish him like I have to now. Gosh, Barack gets more correct thinking and saying done in 7 minutes than most of us get done in a lifetime. I might need to figure out how to loop this speech for infinite ASMR.

@@messyhomestead7320 I am happy to see people finally thinking in terms of "us" instead of "me against you". I am a democrat and I agree with a lot of what the Republicans say, but that only requires effort for us to take the best out of every argument, agreement and disagreement to push this country together to greater heights. Because at the end of the day, we won't be remembered for our disagreements but the ideas which emerged out of them when we decided to put the country first

My Public Speaking Professor played this for us in 2006 and I said “that man will be the next President.” He, a die hard Democrat, refused to believe America would elect a black man.

Same here! Obama is currently speaking at the 2024 DNC and it occurred to me that I first saw him speak exactly TWENTY years ago. This 2004 speech gave me goosebumps. I rooted for him all through the 2008 primaries and volunteered at his campaign office selling buttons and yard signs. Huge busses of volunteers would come from Chicago to his campaign office in West Michigan until the tiny room was PACKED shoulder to shoulder. We were energized, fired up, passionate, and HOPEFUL!
I miss this time when I was young and still had faith in our democracy, faith in the integrity of our justice system, and the naïve belief that a weird, fascist convicted felon that staged a coup to overthrow a presidential election… could never ever hold office again.

Kennedy 2024! Vote for change! Not the corporate kleptocracy that has captured Trump and Harris. Drain the swamp as Trump couldn't. Trump broke his promise of not adding a dime to the debt, and instead hit a record that blew out 238 years of history combined with $8 trillion added to the debt.
Trump doesn't have the working class at heart. He may appoint Black Rock CEO as department of treasury. Why this is bad is because Black Rock, State Street, and Vanguard own 88% of the s&p500. They plan on buying up 50% of the single family homes in the US by 2030 artificially skyrocketing prices of homes making a renters society where you will "Own nothing and be happy" ~ Klaus Schwab under the Great Reset.
Vote for the only candidate that is for the american people, the working class, the children, our health and our economy!
Kennedy 2024! I'm voting out of HOPE and not FEAR AND HATE like Trump and Harris supporters. Join the biggest independent movement in US History! Polls are not reflective of the real support for each candidate especially when the polling questions are manipulative against third parties!

I think he got some worms named after him. Ah yes, im pasting from Wikipedia:
      Biota
      edit
Barack Obama has been commemorated in the scientific names of at least 14 species, the most of any U.S. president.[1][2]
      Animals
      edit
Aptostichus barackobamai, a species of water trapdoor spiders
Baracktrema obamai, a blood fluke found in Malaysian turtles
Desmopachria barackobamai, a diving beetle from French Guiana[3]
      Etheostoma obama, a darter species
      Lasioglossum obamai, a Cuban bee[4]
Nystalus obamai (western striolated puffbird), a bird from the Amazon
      Obamadon gracilis, an extinct lizard
Paragordius obamai, a parasitic worm from phylum Nematomorpha[5]
      Placida barackobamai, a sea slug[6]
      Spintharus barackobamai, a Cuban spider[7]
Teleogramma obamaorum, a cichlid, honoring Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama
Tosanoides obama, a fish discovered in the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument
      Obamus coronatus, an Ediacaran organism
However, the genus name Obama (flatworm)[8] and in particular the invasive species Obama nungara[9] were not named after Barack Obama. The name "Obama" in this case is a coincidence and is derived from the Tupi language (which is spoken in the same area where the flatworm was discovered) where it comes from the words "oba" ("leaf") and "ma" ("animal"), which is a reference to the body shape of species in this genus.[8]
      Plants
Solanum tuberosum, a tuber species potato variety. Also known as Obama Potato
      Fungi
      edit
      Caloplaca obamae, a lichen species
      Individual animals
      edit
Barack Obama, a horse which competed in endurance games

Vote Robert F Kennedy Jr. / Nicole Shanahan 2024 💛🇺🇸

Obama just gave his speech at the 2024 DNC. I watched it live and he finished about 10 minutes ago. So I had to come back and watch this one, which was when we all "discovered" his amazing talents. Someone used the word "bookends" to compare the two speeches and this seems a fair assessment. His speech was also preceded by his wife Michelle, who delivered an equally if not even more heartfelt compelling message. Thank you Barack and Michelle, and wow I am so looking forward to casting my ballot for Kamala and Tim =)

We continue to need this truth in 2024. I miss the Obama days. Days when integrity, service, and common logic ruled. How different than the chaos and pathlogical lying of the Trump years, where fear and victimhood ruled. This is why it's important to elect Democrats to prevent the authoritarian rule of a demagogue.
