    Thank you for this. I've been wanting to build an Armbian variant with KDE as the DE. I'm pretty sure this isn't quite all the material I need for that, but it should get me close .

    I'm using google translator.
    Hello, congratulations on the excellent video! In 13 minutes you explained everything you needed to know to build the image. You deserve to have many more subscribers!
    I'm a total layman, but I want to build an image for the EmuELEC frontend from the commit found in git, but I don't know where to start.
    One developer told me the following:
    “For now, any one, you included, can build an image for Amlogic-ne and should be able to run it on a S4 device, from the latest commit of EE.”
    Do you know if I can use the method you showed in the video to do this?

      Thank you for your kind words! To your question: It's kinda hard to say, we do not have enough information. I understand that you want to build EmuELEC image. For which device do you want to do that? As I understand it EmuELEC supports some devices based on Amlogic chips and a few others. It will be crucial to know what device you want EmuElec to run on.

      @@helpingninja Thanks for answering. The developer has ceased development of EmuELEC and therefore will not create the image for Amlogic's S4 platform, which has among its SoC's the S905Y4 and S905W2. I have two tv boxes with these processors. It is for this platform that I would like to create the image and that a developer inside the subject said that it is possible, since there is already an image of CoreELEC (EmuELEC is based on CE) and there are the necessary files in git. Unfortunately he doesn't have any of these devices and doesn't intend to develop the image. I don't have the necessary technical knowledge, but I'm researching to see if I can accomplish the task.

    Why you left kernel configuration out? That is the important stuff.

    • @helpingninja
      @helpingninja  ปีที่แล้ว

      For some people, true. But I wouldn’t be able to cover kernel configuration in reasonable time. Kernel configuration is soooo extensive.

    How orange pi debian image are building? 😊

    • @helpingninja
      @helpingninja  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure I understand your question. Do you mean how to build the Debian version which is providing the Orange Pi company? Or...? The Armbian built in this tutorial is also Debian based.

      @@helpingninja The Orange Pi Debian official release worked fine for me, but if you know how to create a custom image, I can edit and burn my own version.

      I've not done tutorial on that, but should be pretty easy. They have link to source code builder on their website and their documentation explains how to do it. Basically you need again Ubuntu 22.04 as build environment.

    Hey ninja, easier boot from ssd. Use gparted. Make .img of both boot and sys. Restore imgs to ssd after sizing. Reboot without sdcard.🥰😇🖖,jpk

    You have to unmount the SD card from the host machine before using it inside virtual machine...

    Armbian orange pi plus 2e low video performance 😢

    • @helpingninja
      @helpingninja  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well I would say it's not the problem of armbian, but linux in general.

      @@helpingninja No, Linux is quite a good operating system in terms of graphics performance. The issue here lies with using hardware acceleration on Linux with the GPU drivers on the Orange Pi.
