Really liked the tip about the pfd. I have never had to use it but I always enforce me and my passengers to wear one when in transit. Great video keep it up.
It will make you an instant hit with lock operators. In Minnesota on the upper Mississippi the operators see many boaters who do not have a clue on proper lock proceedures. The radios are vital to maintaining contact with group members on big lakes in Canada. If you use a fiberglass eight or nine foot long antenna a signal splitter can be installed in the coax and give you the best FM reception on the water.
I know there are a lot of videos out there, john crews and Brian Latimore do some excellent ones, but how about how to drive the boat, and what you have learned? I just bought a Ranger RT188P and have been researching everything about driving it.
Thanks for the tips. I'm spending this year increasing my fishing techniques (really only threw a spinnerbait and plastic worm, but working on crankbaits, jigs, and jerkbaits this year) so that I can sign up to be a co-angler next year. It looks like a lot of fun and a great way to increase ones knowledge.
Man thank you so much for this type video. I am 52 and have recently just started “serious” fishing. I’ve fished off and on all my life but never took it very seriously. All that said I looked at co-angling as a way to learn from the best but have been hesitant for several reasons including the fact I had no idea what to expect. Another main reason is quite frankly I’m not that good yet. This video has helped me tremendously. You may already have a video on it, but do you have any thoughts on finding field staff situations?
National prostaff website is good place to start. Instagram is the next place to get noticed. Its best to just fish and buy whatever you want. Being a promoter is full time job
Great, informative video, thank you. One thing I have to ask about your Gill comments. Why in the world would you ever say "I'm not going to re-up with them, I already have my good products."? Other potential sponsor's might see this. Just saying.
Mainly because they didn't support my channel and I am still delivering good marketing materials for them for years. I love the product and encourage everyone to consider them. But support is a two way street. Content creators have global views. It takes hours to create content seen across the US and globe. The marketing value for the product to impressions is not equivalent. A billboard can cost 4 to 10k per month. A creator with 100k subscribers is the equivalent of a billboard...but they are global. While prostaff is good for extremely small influencers, I prefer not to pay a company for the opportunity to promote for them. If I like the product I will promote for free. Much like I still do for Gill on multiple platforms. I don't need to be prostaff to promote, nor do I want to be prostaff. I want an equitable partnership.
Around the 4:30 mark you mentioned not signing up with gill next year because you got all the good stuff you need? Using a company for self personal gain?
Your life. NO one has the right to risk it on your behalf. If you have to threaten to report them, then do that. But don't be a sheep. Now don't be scared of some rough water or rough boat ride, but you have the right to speak up.
LOL!! Love the outtakes ! Lou, I don’t really want to travel a bunch, I do want to fish tournaments however, any suggestions for someone who wants to compete within the state, I live in Va. by the way.
LxVE Bassin' Thanks !!! I’ll be getting my boat back from the shop here in Mid March, too much invested already this season but that’s some good news, I want to learn a lot more, doing so within these two should defiantly provide some experience and give me some homework, do you fish either of these?
Sonny Green this will be my first year fishing the Federation more commonly known as TBF. I fish club tournaments but this year I will fish TBF tournaments. My club is under TBF which is under FLW. When you register with TBF club it gives you membership in TBF and an FLW competitor membership which gives you access to compete in FLW and TBF tourneys.
@@BeyondTheBoundsOutdoors i asked this question to a high school bass fishing coach..he said simply.."look away and the ladies can pee in the live well." I didn't address about going no. 2 :) BTW, seems to me that the marine radio would be more the responsibility of the boater, not the co angler. I do have an SOS light attached to my PFD, though.
I got no work done today, binge-watching all your videos!
Well I appreciate the support!
I roll my rod sleeves up and secure the roll with the reel cover for that setup. Keeps them compact

Loving these guides! Looking at possibly being a co-angler this year and these are super helpful!

MGM Cull Tags are worth a look
Great tip on the VHS radio.
Used it on the big O last week

Thanks for the info. I’m hopeful to do my first co-angler comp this year.
Awesome good luck to you
Great information. I'm fishing my first as a co in April and this was extremely helpful!!!
Good Job Lou, Best of Success this 2019 Season.🎣🎣👍🎣🎣
Thanks brother!

During a tournament where would you go to do a #2 and use the crap kit?

I plan to do some introductory vids on those techniques

Yet another great video from lou!

I got put on a waiting list for a tournament I registered for. How does that work? When could I be notified?
Great tips and presentation. Thanks
Very informative video!! Great job.
How to you handle lightning situations with a boater? I absolutely hate being out in lightning, just not worth the risk.

Sonny Green There is a BFL division in your region and you can fish the federation.
