If I was at that concert, after the first mvmt I would have been tempted to give Alexander a standing ovation!! And then the dreamy, beautiful second mvmt, performed brilliantly by all soloists, and the third mvmt...so fascinating to watch Alexander perform it! Wow! This really should have a million views!

@kaymohr...YES! Alexander Malofeev is already the best pianist...EVER!! And since he is in Boston, perhaps something could be arranged for CD's. And yes, we are all thankful that Alexander Malofeev has brought us cheer through his music, and he is in existence because His Creator's Heart of Love knew we wanted him and listened for the beautiful music at his fingertips❤❤❤. We love you, Sasha!!!

People make comparisons with the greats of the past.but to my mind Alexander has already demonstrated that as a teenager he has attained a degree of excellence that will rarely be matched and likely never exceeded. I think critic’s estimates of future improvements will be in reality indicative of different aspects of perfection.

It is extraordinary how this young man’s piano performances give rise to such heights of enthusiasm and pleasure in his audiences.
For underlying the obvious great talent and skill there shines what appears to be a thoroughly ‘authentic’ individual which is a breath of fresh air to this tired world of ours.

Excellent performance, as always, by Malofeev... the suport from the orchestra as a whole is fantastic, in partucular the introit to the 2nd movement by the 1st violin and the excellent cello, which was repeated in the end of the 2nd movement .... superb!!!

…and, of course he’s not “slouching”- he’s leaning INTO the music! Sasha immersed himself to the point that even his “non-playing” hand is carried along by his inner light, and can’t stay still!

Another sensational performance! Alexander's performance on the cadenza matches that of his superb and emotional rendition in one of the Rach 3 performances which have been available here. This concerto is not nearly as familiar to me but should become so as I listen to this often. I too would love to see him in person and had plans for Ravinia last summer. At 92 I may have to be satisfied with these, and hope they continue.

Another stunning performance! At minute 35 I was reminded of Beethoven (who influenced whom?), with violin #1 and cello #1 giving amazing solos. Too bad there was only one camera and the sound is weak. Alexander is a virtuoso at his young age. Bring us more Sasha!
