  • Hey everyone! 🥰 Welcome to this month’s #studiovlog! As you’ve probably noticed, I’m currently obsessed with creating textile lettering on Procreate so I had this idea of making my very first #punchneedlerug! Playing with actual textile was so much fun and I’m so happy with how it turned out as well. Check out the tutorial part of the video if you want to learn my technique to create your own rug! I have listed below all the tools I use in the video. Enjoy! Hugs

you should stretch the cloth much harder for it to bounce back instead of sinking in (on all sides, not only the two as it was done in the video). it will be faster and comfier when it is stretched correctly

A tip from Amy Oxford, inventor of the Oxford Punch Needles, about how to know if you have stretched your monk cloth tight enough: It should be as tight as a drum. To test it, drop a quarter from about 2-3 ft above, onto the surface of the Monk's Cloth and your coin should bounce back up like it's hitting a trampoline. When it is not quite tight enough, it makes your work much more difficult and the stitches less consistent. Check out her Amy Oxford's TH-cam channel for some amazing tips!

Of course! I was sitting on my couch most of the time with the frame on my lap. To film the tutorial I put the frame on 2 elevated boxes, this works well too! :)
