This is the ultimate reason why Utah fans hates the Big 12 because you (the big 12) took on BYU. As a BYU fan, couldn't be more happier to be in the Big 12 when the Pac-12 has continually been snubbing their nose at us. Since the power 5 label has been slapped on us now the Pac-12 is worried.
BYU is a higher rated undergraduate school than Utah, but sure, whatever you have to tell yourselves. I hear it’s impossible to be good at “research” if you don’t play in the right sports league cause… Gee I’ve never heard that part explained but it must be true because otherwise it would mean the PAC-12 is just a bunch of religious bigots and surely that can’t be right.
I agree I definitely have to admit the BYU Fanbase has been awesome. They have a passionate fanbase just like most of the big 12 teams have they are a good fit.
BYU has been trying, since the early 90's, to get into the PAC. It was the best geographic fit, and most of BYU's alumni who leave Utah stay west of the Rockies. BUT that ship has sailed, and now I find myself more and more stoked to see my Cougars in the BIG12. Go Cougs!

Texas Tech here! We have a lot of fun at the Big 12 games....just don't take us too seriously 🤣 We have been known to insult the other teams....just ask TCU.
I am one of the few BYU fans that never wanted BYU to be part of the Pac 10. As a teenager playing college football video games, I turned down conference invites to BYU from the Pac 10. I always waited for the invite from my favorite conference, The Big XII. Once there, I turned down invites to every other conference. While I do wish Texas and Oklahoma were staying, BYU is finally where it has always belonged.
BYU is a great school. Of course I am a fan, I attended there 60 years ago when wining 2 football games a season and a handful of basketball games was a good year. I made lifelong friends there that I still talk to often. I am glad they are part of the Big 12, and I think they will enjoy coming to Provo and BYU will be gracious hosts will love having them there. Lot's of fun.
@genebarker1023, While I have not been watching BYU football for 60 years, I have been watching for 50 years. I remember those seasons of what were deemed good years. I also am grateful to have our BYU Cougars as members of the Big XII. The kindness and hospitality among the Big XII schools is unmatched anywhere in the nation. I thank all those who have welcomed us in. I only hope we can be worthy competitors to each of the powerhouses of every school that is the Big XII.
Ute fan here. Super excited to be in the same conference with BYU again! Grateful that the Big 12 let us in. Great reporting. Interesting article. Pride goeth before the fall appears to be the active principle here- now a year after this video was published and the PAC 12 went to 2, and is rebuilding with teams from the Mountain West Conference and even the West Coast Conference. Some great teams, but from a TV revenue perspective, appears to be a mighty fall.
Thanks, John for all the kind comments sent to BYU. July 1 it all becomes official. It was great that the Big 12 gave BYU a shot at both Texas and Oklahoma in their final year in the conference. Much better landing spot for the Cougars than the PAC 12.
TCU here: We’re with ya all the way. BYU adds value media wise and also adds to the strength of the conference. Strength of schedule matters. Sometimes it’s the deciding factor.
For the preceding about 30 years, BYU fans hoped to get into the PAC. BYU has tons of alumni on the west coast in the PAC footprint. The reality that BYU was never making it in had been building but was driven home in 2010 when the PAC10 expanded by grabbing Colorado and Utah, a much inferior value school than BYU, who was a clear #2 in the SLC TV market and didn’t bring the national eyeballs that BYU did/does. You could see the PAC rationale, you add a school in the SLC market without the religious issues and by giving them P5 money, they could hope Utah would grow stronger than its more valuable rival, despite being a lower value add at the time, which was only done so they could get to 12 and have a conference championship. BYU fans had to watch as their bitter little brother rival got a significant financial and recruiting advantage, and boy did Ute fans let them know about it. For the past 10 years+, new money Ute fans gloated and the Utah administration big timed BYU. They actually sabotaged BYU’s first attempt to go independent (the WAC other sports plan). They avoided scheduling BYU and caused the only hiatus in the 100+ year Holy War rivalry except only WWII. They openly and actively rubbed their P5 membership in BYU’s faces. THIS is the reason Utah fans are so defensive about the PAC and condescending about the Big12 - their entire identity has been placed in their PAC12 membership . Joining the Big12 means they have to let go of this notion of superiority to BYU. Not only would they have to compete with BYU for conference championships on level terms, they would no longer be able to hang on the arms of USC and UCLA and pretend they’re one of the cool kids like them. It’s a major identity crisis for them. Now, looking back, BYU fans could not be more excited and glad that they DIDN’T go to the PAC. The Big12 is sooooo much better in every way!!!
TCU here: My school understands the journey from the dregs to the top. We understand the barbs and disrespect. Even after making it to the title game we are still seen as the little private school that over achieved. There will always be haters. Just don’t let that turn your program into a neighbor that nobody wants to live next to. Let the haters hate and just win. That solves s lot of problems
Charles DeMar hit a home run with this quick over view of BYU vs the PAC 10 and Utah. I have been a BYU fan since 1970. Raised in Southern California..seen it all. Utah Fans are insufferable.
BYU fan, I'd much rather be in the Big 12. Also when it was first announced I started watching more and more Big 12 sports and I've loved watching K State, bet you're having a blast watching them too
As a K-State fan I started tuning in to more BYU games too! Honestly when the new teams were announced I found myself watching all the new schools because you all already felt like a part of the family I love having every one of the new schools in our conference
I hope Utah joins the Big12… As a Utah grad I’m sick and tired of these liberal West Coast schools and the impact it’s having on our culture. I’m ready to join a bunch of tough Midwestern dudes and plays a real football with passion of fans who still love the game. Bring back the BYU rivalry!
BYU fan here. While I would be happy for Utah to join the Big XII, I worry that Utah joining would pit all of the other Big XII teams against Utah each and every game they play in the Big XII. Every week would be a heated rivalry against Utah. If you are alright with this, then bring it! With some of the comments from fans of other teams in the Big XII, your rivalry with them may be hotter than anything you ever imagined with BYU. The Holy War would seem like a puny and cordial little meet-and-greet rivalry compared to the serious powerhouses that await the Utes within the Big XII. Of course, if that is what you want, the Big XII will welcome you to rivalries not seen since the dawn of time. Beware, every single team in the Big 12 in any season could take the national championship. Every game is a war for the national championship. Just let us know if we can count you all the way in with us!
I went to the BYU vs WV game at RFK stadium a few years back. It was a great game and atmosphere even though we lost. Respect to WV. Hope to make it to the game in Morgantown this year.
Independence has been better than PAC12 for this BYU fan, being able to visit some great football venues over the years. B12 is a much better fit for BYU!
That's why I say the new members are additions not backfill. The AAC schools with the Legacy 8 would have retained the old 28 million per member TV deal and BYU added the additional 4 million per member or nearly 50 million per year! Unreal.
That is strictly TV revenue. That does not factor in gate receipts. Watch any football or men's basketball game when BYU plays on the road at a Pac-12 school and count the blue shirts. And that's not even really travelling well. That's just BYU fans that happen to live within 20 Miles or so of those stadiums. There is a reason Pac-12 schools loved scheduling BYU. BYU puts butts in seats. They've lost that now. BYU simply will not have blank spaces on their schedule to travel to Pac 12 country as often.
Your comment is spot on! BYU probably does "travel well", but it's hard to tell with all the "local BYU fans" coming to support them. I've gone to many, many BYU away games and just love to see our fans in attendance. And we do get heckled at times, but it's worth it. I now live in Amarillo, TX, and will gladly drive 2 hrs to Lubbock to support BYU teams playing at TT. Go Cougs!
It could be that BYU has possibly been more financially solvent than a large number of other schools. Also BYU has always been way ahead of most other schools in technology, broadcasting equipment, and talent to run those systems.
BYU fan here. PAC-12 arrogance is expensive. BYU would have been happy (was, in fact, desperate for years) to join the PAC-12. Glad to align with the Big XII. I have many U of Utah alums as friends. Wish them all the best in these (increasingly stressful) negotiations...
I agree. Arrogance is always costly and ugly. Big12 has some of the biggest rivalries in the country but now that Texas is gone we all support the conference & hope the best for all of us.
Really, really, really looking forward to seeing the BIG12 Logo on the different sports fields and floors in the near future. Each of the other BIG12 sports teams are going to be surprised by how many BYU fans show up to their games because of so many members of the church that live in their areas will become season ticket holders or buying specifically the BYU scheduled games.
@@craig5477 Last year when Baylor came to BYU for football, it was a very close game that could have gone either way up to the very end. I was impressed with Baylor, their players and coaches were a class above many previous teams we've played before. Was hoping to play at Baylor this year for that rivalry to start to see who would come out ahead again, but the schedule didn't work out that way for 2023. Since you mentioned Fort Worth, are you TCU? Used to enjoy those games with TCU years ago, then TCU kept getting better and we lost more in the end. The Horned Frog mascot was very good.
@@craig5477 Gary Patterson made some pretty negative comments toward BYU that our fanbase likes to keep as bulletin material. However, even when he said that, I think any of us would have taken him as a head coach if given the opportunity, lol.
@@davidfonoimoana4867 Didn’t know about that & hope that won’t spoil our future competition. Should be fun. I’m really looking forward to our new conference.

I can definitely picture ESPN trying to hint to the Pack-12 to add BYU because it would be good for business, but the higher-ups in the Pack-12 making choices based on ideology. Charma. Vindication. Let those Star-Bellied Sneeches wither into irrelevance.
The Pac 12 not taking BYU decades ago was an epic fail. How do you go from having opportunities to get OU and Texas, and then several other Big 12 teams, and then BYU, and wind up looking at Colorado State? If they'd taken any 2 or more of those teams, they'd still have UCLA and USC most likely. They're dropping the ball every time opportunities present themselves, and it appears to me like the Pac 12 is playing checkers while the Big 12 is playing chess. They should feel humiliated.
They don't have much of a choice. Cal and Stanford would burn down the Pac12 before being in a conference with BYU. I love BYU, and I'm glad the Big12 scooped them up. It was a freaking layup to get them, but they're like Baylor, "toxic" religious schools.
The Pac 10/12 is effete. Turning their noses up at BYU is a strong piece of evidence. With the way BYU was treated at a road game at Oregon, maybe that sort of repulsive behavior against BYU was what motivated them to preclude the Cougars. Happy to have BYU in the Big XII.
How was the treatment y’all received in Waco two years ago honest question? I want and hope all our schools treat you graciously when you come to campus especially my Wildcats
I was there in 2021 in person. Had never been to McLane stadium before that game and was treated VERY well. Hope the favor felt returned when BU visited BYU in 22.
@Kaleb, all of the cougar boards I'm on were super impressed with the reception BYU received in Waco, especially during the pre game parade. I think Baylor fans really enjoyed Provo last year, too.
Kurtz is very diplomatic when he refers to the PAC12 "hubris" rather than calling them snobs . . . When playing sports, I never did get what having a friendly ball game between two institutions had to do with one's religious beliefs or academic research . . . but I guess some can't separate the two.
I'm a BYU graduate and have been a BYU fan for decades. I grew up going to BYU football games (my father was a professor there). I now live in Albuquerque and I still have season tickets (although I only go to about three games). I am looking forward to going to Tx to see some of the games in the future. As far as the Utah sports market, BYU football is the #1 draw, the Utah Jazz are second, and Utah football is third. I also never understood the whole academics argument given that BYU is rated #89 higher than Utah's #105. The PAC was not interested due to religious bigotry rather than anything else. As a BYU fan, we have seen that religious bigotry when playing the USC, Stanford, and Oregon (who espouse their tolerance). I am glad that BYU is in the Big XII rather than the PAC-6/8/10/"12."
Nice try chief! Coug is not the #1 draw. As far as academics is concerned, byu-provo doesn't have the research and graduate programs to compare to Utah. Law school, business school don't draw the research $$. Why do you always have to play the victim card? If you want to go through life like that go for it. I am guessing that we are of the same faith, but instead of being a victim I am proud of my faith and don't allow others to tread on it.
@@daviderickson5478 Virtue signal much! 😂 So much of the undergraduate U of U student body is bitter and resentful because they were rejected admittance to BYU. That's where a lot of the nastiness from U of U fans come from. The question of "research" or teaching institution is simply a matter of orientation and mission of the universities. Says nothing of relative prestige. It's the undergraduate presence that is the driver of the university athletics. And in that regard, BYU wins.
Was a Tx a&m fan went to sec was a Tx fan also moving to sec now I am going to be a byu or houston fan going to take a year to make up my mind. All I can say is welcome to the big 12 Cincinnati, ucf, houston, & byu. If none of the pack 12 wants let them die with the pack 12 and let's go get some schools that do want to join. GO BIG 12 😍❤
Interesting to see an actual dollar evaluation for BYU. Curious how much $$ adding the 4- B12 teams would have been worth to the Pac when OUT announced their departure. Probably would have put the Pac at 50+ mil WITH USCLA and 40+ mil without them. Either way, they would have been competing with one less power 5 conference for TV rights because it would have decimated the B12 into extinction or at the very least, knocked their revenue down to a G5 level. It may now be the other way around. Sure makes me glad we have a visionary like Yormark as the head of our conference. P 1n
Not a Mormon but I can attest to the fact that dealing with the LDS they are honest, forthright and solid folks. I am thrilled to have BYU in our conference!
Mostly. Unfortunately, there are some bad ones in every bunch. We’re excited to be in the conference and ecstatic for the general reception we’ve received.
First time watching you, and you have a great news voice. Btw, as a Memphis fan, don't leave us behind. We want to join our friends Houston and UCF and Cincinnati with you guys in the Big 12! Think of us next expansion!!
I’ve always though Memphis was a no brainer for the big 12 but they went with UCF instead. Not mad at it, but I think Memphis and SMU are natural fits no?
I honestly think the Pac-12 is still intact with USC and UCLA if BYU is part of it, but *not* because BYU is "all that" on its own. Rather, it's how the conference would have looked and felt with BYU instead of Colorado. One thing that would have been achieved with BYU instead of Colorado was keeping the same identity across the conference from a natural rivalry standpoint. The Pac, unlike any other conference, always had natural rivalries in each state or geographic region. UW/WSU. UO/OSU. Cal/Stanford. USC/UCLA. The Pac-8 invited UA/ASU to become the Pac-10. If Nevada had two strong schools, they would have been the next logical targets, but Nevada/UNLV would have added little to the conference package, so the state of Utah would have been the next choice, and BYU/Utah were both very solid programs with a rivalry that is frankly as passionate as many around the country. The Pac really blew it from that perspective. BYU, on its own, would have added *far* more from a competition standpoint than Colorado, in part because of their natural desire to be competitive, and in part because they have so many fans who either live in the respective school's areas, or who will travel 4-6 hours by car, or 2+ hours by plane, to see their team play once a year. I remember going to USC years ago. I lived in Orange County at the time--about an hour away with normal SoCal traffic--and my dad traveled from Utah to go to the game with me. I overheard USC staff and ticket takers outside the Coliseum asking each other, "where are all these BYU fans coming from?" And you see that repeated everywhere BYU travels to across the country, but especially in the West. Relatedly, BYU would likely have raised the competition level precisely because there would have been more urgency to keep BYU from winning the conference due to its religious affiliation. Utah has won the last couple of years because USC, Oregon, and Washington aren't playing up to their capabilities. And the conference is in a malaise because of it; no one on the national level cares if Utah wins the Pac-12, as would be the case if, say, WSU, OSU, or UA won it. If BYU were part of the conference and were threatening to win it, there would certainly have been additional impetus to fix whatever problems certain schools had, to right their respective ships and put themselves in the position to win. I imagine the Pac leadership looked at Colorado as more of a viable threat when they were invited before Utah, but CU winning--as has been the case with Utah--wouldn't have fanned that fire like BYU winning would have. And look at the state of the Pac, competitively. It's no wonder USC was willing to destroy decades of tradition and forge their own path. The Pac's fanbases have largely become apathetic over time. BYU, with its fanbase that is frankly a great fit for the Big 12 with its passion, would likely have spurred more interest as they visited other schools because their fans don't want to lose to BYU. Yes, it's easy to say that BYU wouldn't have made a big difference in the Pac but, when it's not just "on paper" and the actual elements that drive competition and interest are considered, inviting BYU with Utah instead of Colorado may have made all the difference necessary for the Pac to still be viable.
As a BYU fan, I am both happy to provide value to the Big12 as well as being able to cause problems for the Pac 10/12/whatever. Pac is a conference full of bigots against religion.
Great to hear this! As a life long BYU fan I've always suspected that they were undervalued in the media market, and that if a major conference were to add BYU they'd experience some real synergies. Congrats to the Big12 for making BYU a part of it. It'll be a true win-win!
On more PAC-12. What goes around comes around. None of them wanted BYU but now their conference will cease to exist. Honestly it is sad. But you know how life has a way to pay back all we do.
Crazy the Pac-12 chose extinction over accepting BYU into the conference. I do not envy the new travel schedules for USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, Cal, Stanford. Does not seem tenable for "student" athletes.
Love your updates and good luck to your Cats in the Elite 8. The news source you are quoting is “Deseret”, a reference to an unrecognized Mormon state that tried to join the US, and was part of their history in the west, not “Desert”. They pronounce it Dez-er-ett
When the Big 12 offered membership to BYU, if the Pac 12 also had offered BYU membership and BYU had accepted, the Pac 12 probably would not have fallen apart.
Karma is a bitch. BYU fans have been appalled by the behavior of Utah and The PAC-12 for over a decade now and it’s come from the very top down, the administration, AD’s coaches and fans. I think BYU always thought it was just a good natured rivalry, but Utah has made it clear they literally HATE BYU. I’ve given up trying to figure out why.
It's the atheist elitists that did this. Too good for any religious school. Too good for any "Cal State" school. Wazzu grad here. Watched the rejection real time and heard the dismissive comments real time of talk of any religious school like BYU, Gonzaga, or Baylor (when we tried to swipe four Big 12 teams and came away with just Colorado). And when USC and UCLA left and it was crisis time, we refused to take San Diego State for snobbish elitist reasons.
The research organization is the AAU. It only concerns itself with academic research and dolls out billions of dollars. They do not care which athletic conference a school is a member of. That money is designated for Research not athletics. The reason that subject gets tossed into these athletic platforms has to do with blowing their own horn and feeling superior to everyone that isn’t them. They are liberal elitist that only care about research and could care less if the schools sports teams die a slow death.
Thank you John for the commentary. I LOVE that we're joining the Big12 and love the idea that maybe we did our little part to add some value to the conference from the get go. If Utah *does* end up joining I hope it's at the same reduced revenue share as BYU and the other three new schools, and not at full revenue share starting Day One. That scenario would be a salt in the wound after all these years of being snubbed by the PAC and dealing with Utah fans. Especially if it's true that BYU did bring juice to the Big12 media payout.
Big XII is a better fit, I personally couldn't be happier. Utah can just go and pretend that it is a Stanford or Cal now because everyone knows playing football with a college magically makes you the academic equivalent of that college.
Hopefully for Stanford and Cal that only works one way. That being said, I'm guessing not many Stanford or Cal grads are bragging about their schools being just like Utah.
Excellent summary John. A few other observations. The Pac 12 shunning BYU stunted the rivaly with Utah, one of college sports great rivalries. The Pac 12 also ignored BYU's natural markets in Utah, So. Cal & Arizona, which have strong LDS populations and would have strengthened the conference's grip in those areas. Instead they got Colorado, which is a square peg in a round hole when trying to manufactuer a rivalry with Utah. The BYU negatives are 1) don't play on Sunday, which messes up the schedule of minor sports on campus, and 2) the Church's stance on social issues like the importance of the nuclear family, gay marriage and transgenderism. Don't buy the lack of "Research" as a factor. It's a complete red herring. It's the social, politically correct issues that kept BYU out of the Pac 12.
As we all know by now, the pac-12 has fallen apart and is now presumably in its final season. Will they be able to find a way to put it back together? But the question now is... How much did this situation play into the pac-12 imploding?
It is just stunning that people do not remember that nothing was progressing with Bowlshitsby asleep at the helm of the B12 until Oliver Luck was hired as a special consultant. It is he who expanded the conference by four members, not the somnambulant Bowlshitsby, conference killer supreme.
This is so. Bowlsby got the credit for the work someone else did. Bowlsby needs to be remembered for the utter incoherence he showed while OU and UTEX were secretly planning their exit.
The Pac 12 had the opportunity to add Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, & Oklahoma State in one fell swoop when the Big XII was teetering from A&M and Mizzou's exits. If they had sealed the deal, they would be sitting pretty right now. Both Texas & OU have strong fan bases on the West Coast.
Great commentary John. It's apparent that Utah is a better fit than BYU with the politically liberal PAC-12 conference, or at least their university presidents. The arrogance and bigotry towards religion of the PAC-12 schools has circled around to bite them. It's clear that BYU is a great fit with the BIG-12 and I can't wait to watch them compete with like-minded institutions and passionate fan bases!
Bigotry is what kept BYU out of the pac12. Its a moot point now but lets not pretend here BYU own religious views were what kept them out. Bigotry against LGBT was never going to garner any support from any of the California schools. At the end of the day they are responsive to there own students and former student body and it was made abundantly clear they wanted no part of BYU because of there own views. The big 12 was always a better cultural fit for BYU.
Sorry John, but every time you introduce a video, you mention your channel does talk about college basketball, but I've never seen any college basketball content in your videos or any video on college basketball. Am I missing something??
Big 12 is way better. Really glad how things panned out. Football is such a great way to overcome differences and make connections. This conference gets it.

BYU through and through here! Thanks for the highlight! We appreciate some positive shoutouts once in a while! And SO glad to be in the Big 12!
As a BYU fan I'm excited to be joining the Big12. Larger footprint and more passionate fan bases! 🤙🏼 Can't wait!
Glad you joined. I went to UTEP I remember the old WAC days!!
TCU here: We’re with ya all the way. BYU adds value media wise and also adds to the strength of the conference. Strength of schedule matters. Sometimes it’s the deciding factor.

Ŧ Fan here, Welcome to the Big 12!!! Looking forward to this Fall!!
Baylor Fan here. Hope we can build a rivalry at some point. Welcome to the Big 12!
Karma for the PAC12. No tears shed here.
Love the response. Couldn’t have summed it up better myself.
Extremely well said. This is exactly how it has been and is.
Charles DeMar hit a home run with this quick over view of BYU vs the PAC 10 and Utah. I have been a BYU fan since 1970. Raised in Southern California..seen it all. Utah Fans are insufferable.
My sentiments exactly! So happy to be in the Big12 and wouldn’t mind seeing Utah go down when the pac disintegrates.
BYU fan, I'd much rather be in the Big 12. Also when it was first announced I started watching more and more Big 12 sports and I've loved watching K State, bet you're having a blast watching them too
Big things seem to be rolling the Big12s way. Glad to see us all with a great future.
As a K-State fan I started tuning in to more BYU games too! Honestly when the new teams were announced I found myself watching all the new schools because you all already felt like a part of the family I love having every one of the new schools in our conference
Great KSU game last night! Hoping for them to go ALL - THE - WAY!
@@Big12rocks I hope we make the Big 12 proud!

Thats a no for utah to join the big 12
Welcome , Mountaineers fan looking forward to the new big 12 .

Let's go Cougs!! I live in Texas and I am excited to join the Big12. Can't wait to go to the TCU and Texas game this year.
Welcome aboard. See ya in Fort Worth.
Clogs play both Texas and TCU in Houston. Is that what you are referring to?
Excited for that BYU game, throwing it back to the Mountain West days
Congrat on your Cats doing so well.
That's why I say the new members are additions not backfill. The AAC schools with the Legacy 8 would have retained the old 28 million per member TV deal and BYU added the additional 4 million per member or nearly 50 million per year! Unreal.
Yeah…… with inflation and other conference contracts that’s losing money
But keep spinning
right on amigo !! couldn't have said it better
Congrats on your K State last night.
They are also owned by a Worldwide cult and racketeering outfit.
@@oogrooq You're gonna need to provide proof if you want to convince the court of those outrageous claims.
We look forward to a great season with you guys. Can’t wait for opening day in Fort Worth
It's nice to hear BYU is appreciated. BYU is also very appreciative of the Big12. Except TCU. Haha. Jk jk.

This comment aged well!
Finally someone said it. The pious Pac of ex champions.
I’m very happy that we are in the Big12.
The PAC didn't want to add a religious school, also ESPN nuked the PAC12 expansion with the LHN.
That was on Texas, they insisted on their own network
They don't have much of a choice. Cal and Stanford would burn down the Pac12 before being in a conference with BYU. I love BYU, and I'm glad the Big12 scooped them up. It was a freaking layup to get them, but they're like Baylor, "toxic" religious schools.

I wasn’t there, but everything I have heard was positive about the trip to Waco…from the team and fans.
Same thing happened at USC several years ago when BYU played there.
Exactly. Exactly
BYU fans love you! Keep up the good work.
Kurtz gets free cougartails and kettle corn any time he visits Provo sporting events!

Who can forget the "F--- the Mormons! F--- the Mormons!" chant wafting through Autzen Stadium last year? The PAC 12 - "Conference of Bigots".

I’m following more College Football due to BYU football adding to Big 12 it’s exciting living here in Australia 🇦🇺

Great to hear this! As a life long BYU fan I've always suspected that they were undervalued in the media market, and that if a major conference were to add BYU they'd experience some real synergies. Congrats to the Big12 for making BYU a part of it. It'll be a true win-win!

As a BYU fan from Texas I couldn’t be happier BYU is now in the Big XII!
This just popped up in my feed and the fact that the PAC 12 is now blown up because of their lack of leadership from their commissioner is humorous.
Go Woke Go Broke
Just subscribed. Great show
Just warms my heart
Can someone explain to me the relevance of being a research institution when it comes to being a member of an athletic league?
The research organization is the AAU. It only concerns itself with academic research and dolls out billions of dollars. They do not care which athletic conference a school is a member of. That money is designated for Research not athletics. The reason that subject gets tossed into these athletic platforms has to do with blowing their own horn and feeling superior to everyone that isn’t them. They are liberal elitist that only care about research and could care less if the schools sports teams die a slow death.
No relevance unless your in the PAC or B1G. Their legends in their own mind.
Universities are about research and academics. Poor ones only have football teams to talk about.

I love the Pac 12 looking like idiots
Nice job John. Go BYU!
I always look forward to re-alignment related discussions. Thanks John!
4 months later, as a BYU fan, all I've got to say is HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
The PAC-12’s religious bigotry is hurting the conference.
Zero sympathy for the PAC 10.
You are better off not being in the PAC 12
The pac 12 is now equal to the mtn west
And USC and UCLA would still be in the PAC 16 except Larry not understanding TV contracts.
Cal and Stanford kept BYU out of the P12. Now Cal and Stanford seem irrelevant
besides Utah being one of the fastest growing state, Mormons are hard core in watching/ supporting the program. Nation wide.
As a Big Ten fan, the Big 12 has earned your place among the Power Three conferences. I’m glad to see people rewarded for their open-mindedness.
Great video, thanks for sharing!!!
BYU in the Big 12!!! The conservative conference!!
