I had one back in the day, a 2004 in grey. Packed it up with some clothes and a blanket then drove it all over Europe with my now wife, we did over 5000 miles twice! Never had a problem with it!
I really quite liked my old 2.5TDI A4 Saloon. Really smooth and easy to drive. I never got round to doing it, but they sound great with a decent freeflowing exhaust. The car eventually got quite tired after a good few years of daily commuting. As I enjoyed owning it so much, I traded it against a 3.0TDI A4 S-Line which I still own.
19 years ago the first car I ever wanted to own was a golf r32(mk4). Years later I could afford one but opted for the newer and all round better, mk5 r32.
I still wish I'd had one, regret is a terrible thing when it comes to cars.

Great video & great story 👍 I was driving around in my Calibra in 2004 and I can remember thinking how modern the Audi A4’s looked compared to all the other cars of the time , I’ve always had a soft spot for an Audi though so perhaps I’m a bit biased 🤔

That is an awesome story mate. I was the same about a e36 bmw coupe because it was the best car my dad had owned when I was growing up. I was so stoked I managed to buy 2 of them back when I was 21.

My mum bought one new in 2006 so it was the facelift, the manager specd it for himself and whacked the RS4 style alloys on it. She went in there and paid over £30k for it back then. Navy blue with navy roof and banana yellow leather.
Sold it last year for £900. Gearbox was knackered but apart from that it was a very very nice car to drive even when it would eventually kick into gear.

Love the video cal I was the same I’m only 23 and I used to see my dads boss in a s500 2000 shape limo spec or sometimes in a e46 m3 this was when I was really small and I remember I used to tell my dad I’m gona have them cars sometime in my life and now iv owned both since cus I fell in love with them and started drawing them growing up but might not b special anymore but when you want something your going to do everything you can to get it

It was a silver grey e46 M3 with red leather what I always wanted that my boss had brand new in 2003 when I first started out as an apprentice plumber. Still lust after it today in 2022!
Always liked them but not as much as the e46 equivalent of the same time, one of the weird things about the Audi diesels on both the A4’s and modern A5’s (why anyone would want to own a diesel convertible especially an old one and have to listen to that tractor engine with the roof down? ) is they’re not even that economical on fuel if you go for any engine other than the 1.8 or 2.0 litres once you start stepping up in engine sizes they drink like a petrol but without the power or smoothness, very strange indeed

Got to take a few seconds off for a full tank of fuel as all the other cars did times with fuel light on lol Calvin's not used to a full tank 😅
I gussed it was an A4 of this era by the thumbnail. I always liked them back in the day. I bought one a few years ago same age and fixed it and resold it. Had fun and made a bit of extra ££
Big Ole Lazy 2.5 TDi with skuttle shake special , nice, must have had in trade 3 of these 5 odd 2.4i's and a few 1.8's, unsure ever had more than one 3.0

Clean and lubricate hinges and clean like you said...should all work as it nearly completed the cycle...as you said it was sitting for ages!!!

Can’t remember the brand but it came from a place called realklean in Leighton buzzard. It’s the best jet wash I’ve had and they stock all spare parts if it ever needs anything.

Great vid!! Bought one of these 04 plate in black a few months ago 2.4 V6 with only 56,000 miles, stunning red leather interior. Got it cheap as the MOT was about to expire and it went straight through a couple of weeks ago so well chuffed!! What did you clean the roof with as mine has a few patches of mould appearing?

My mates dad has the exact same car same colour and engine and I remember years ago being in the back of that car and looking at it like it was a spaceship had his private reg on etc😂 back them this car was the sh**, a few years ago he had black slime alloys put on and a brand new roof and still to this day it's on his drive although he don't use it much anymore was such an iconic car of my childhood

Loving these bonus videos cal! Great car for period but had wrong colour choice ( old mans colour 🤣) I had the Audi A4 avant 2.4 great engine but as gearbox was 5 speed which let it down. It was screaming out for 6th gear. So got my 530i e30 sport which was more fun but crap sound system but engine sound made up for it(with Audi having v6 and bose)

My favourite car and I would say dream car was bmw e46 and today I own a 2002 e46 318i 2.0 might not be fastes car but its has all the extras like m sport heated leather seats, 6 cd changer, Parrot Bluetooth, a oem bmw torch, rare spoke 96 alloys, heated side mirrors, parking sensors, and all this is extra because my car is a SE model and these are factory extras, to me this car is fast because I've been driving a 1.4l petrol toyota corolla so for me it's a big upgrade from size and engine also overall car, maybe once my insurance is alot cheaper might look into getting 325i or 330i at moment this is the best sporty and luxury car I have at age of 21.

The fluid is old! change it and it should work. ( thats for the roof )
I had two Audi A4 2.0tfsi B7’s and both engines went with oil chain pump failure losing me 20k I’ll never buy another Audi again.

That was probably the absolute nuts at the time, but by todays standards is probably the least tasteful spec you can get 😂 I remember in 2004 I was in school and there was this quiet boy in my class who was one of the smartest in the school. His dad pulled up one day in a new Phaeton, and from then on, me and my friends knew he was also one of the coolest, even if nobody else knew! Funny how memories like that stick. I'd be fascinated to experience one based on that alone.
