Jackson born and raised in Hong Kong. He studied at the American International School Hong Kong. He was a saber fencer for Hong Kong's fencing team, ranked eleventh in the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics, and won first place at the Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championships in 2011. After passing a music audition, he moved to Seoul, South Korea to pursue a career in K-pop. In January 2014, he debuted as a member of Got7. On 2017, he released first solo single "Papillon". Now, He is the founder of many different label like Team Wang, Ryce, Team Wang Design......
I love Jackson Wang ...his song and MV "100 Ways" is what first caught my eye but he has a lot of great works. He's hilarious in interviews and he and RM are friends.

Jackson Wang is one of the rappers in the Kpop group GOT7, but as you just saw, he is far more than just a Kpop idol. GOT7 debuted in 2014, so Jackson has been around for more than 7 years. He is Chinese, from Hong Kong. He grew up attending an international school in Hong Kong were the primary language spoken was English. So he is now fluent in English, and he speaks English almost better than his native Cantonese. So, when it comes to his solo work, most of his songs are in English or Mandarin. Jackson speaks 4 languages fluently: Cantonese, English, Korean and Mandarin.
As a soloist he is a global artist. He writes and composes and produces his own music and he is a music mogul -- he runs is own label/company with his crew called Team Wang. Most of the time he even has a hand in coming up with the storylines and directing the MVs. He is hands-on with all aspects of his music. Jackson has 100% control over all aspects of his solo work because it's all part of his company.
Because most of Jackson's songs are in English, and he is a fluent English speaker, he does a lot of promotional activities in the U.S. as well, and has collaborated with several famous U.S. artists.

Jackson is so cool. He's from Hong Kong but is fluent in English, Madarian, Cantonese, and Korean. He's a part of the kpop group GOT7 but has his own label based in China and has done lots of solo projects as well (the group was under JYP, Stray Kids' label, from 2014-2021 until they left as a group. Bang Chan from Stray Kids was also supposed to debut with them originally). His parents were both professional athletes and he was in the Junior Olympics for fencing. He actually had gotten a scholarship to Standford for fencing but chose to go to Korea and do music instead.

He founded the record label and fashing brand Team Wang in 2017 where is the CEO, fashing designer and creative director. His father was an Olympian national fencer in China and his mother a gymnast. Jackson also became a national fencer at 10 years old, and he was offered a scholarship to Stanford for fencing, but he chose to pursue music instead and was scouted by JYP Entertainment and joined GOT7. Back then he appeared in many SK variety shows, and he managed to make me laugh out loud while in the hospital with the IV stuck in my vein. Through him, I saw Jooheon from Monsta X, and they became my favorite before I ventured out to Seventeen. Jackson is the literal word of an all-rounder (singer, dancer, rapper, lyricist -metaphorically and bars on raps, director (always after ART when making MV's), model, fashion designer (Team Wang design), CEO at 23, elite fencer at his fencing career. What else can this man can't do. Funny, kind, polite and has a sweet personality is a super bonus, that's why everyone loves him everytime they meet him, not being bias.
He is the epitome of hard work and focus when he wants to get things done, career driven and risk-taker, that's why he is legendary.

I agree with every single word you said about Jackson and about the MV. It's amazing how everything you said about Jackson is correct even though this is the first time you're checking him out! He is very creative, and yes it is hard work, he works insanely hard (he said he hasn't taken a proper vacation since he started doing music and sleeps only like 2-4 hours a night). And he is busier than a normal artist because he also runs several companies where he is involved in every process, he even has other artists signed under his own label Team Wang Records.
