Jim Carrey in the 90's ...was the funniest man on the planet. I remember when Jim Carrey blew up on the scene in 1994. Used to watch In Living Colour before that. Fire Marshall Bill was hilarious. That entire show was funny as hell. I remember being a kid going to the movie theatre to watch Dumb and Dumber. To this day I've never heard an audience laugh so hard which filled the packed house with this wild electric weird energy. You couldn't hear the next 30 seconds of dialogue after the audience would burst out in laughter at something Jim Carrey did on screen. Nobody had really ever seen anything like a Jim Carrey and what he brought to the table with his style of comedy. I also grew up watching The three Stooges and Martin and Lewis movies that they used to show on tv on Sunday afternoons. I'd Say Jerry Lewis was extremely funny to me as well and Jim Carrey reminded me a bit of Jerry Lewis with his physical style of comedy and the way that he and Jerry both moved their bodies. Jim was like the Jerry Lewis of my generation. Jim Carrey is getting older and I wish he'd do some more comedies like he used to but what he gave to me and many many others I'll always be thankful for. Jim Carrey gave me some of the greatest laughs of my life. God bless him. Thanks Jim Carrey.
@Toadmaster50 It's literally called the Mask...it had several sequels and spin offs. Unlike in the film when the mask makes the Tommy Gun he doesn't shoot over everyone's heads. Instead he fires at them killing them. It's more like Sin City but with a cynical comedy edge.
"Picture of Keloway's Wife" "Uh Oh" "Margaret! You son of a bitch!" "Geeze, I thought you would of had a sense of humor. After all, you married her!" "AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH" *Slaps both men then leaves* Classic
"Are you on the list? No. But I believe my friends are, perhaps you know them; Franklin, Grant and Jackson." Movies influence us, no doubt. There's a Jackson street here in town, and every time I pass it, I think of Carrey-moving his jaw the way he does- saying Jackson. Funny.
I may only be 15 but I'm so glad my father had this laying around, one of my favorite movies as a kid, even though I was way to young to understand half the jokes in this.
Yo same my dad was watching it and it was at the dancing scene and my favorite part is him putting the cigarette in his mouth and the green hat and “ telling him where his money is”
2:12 - I think that somehow, Stanley understood that Dorian would have used any money he got his hands on for dangerous purposes, so Stanley, using the Mask’s power, decides to mess with him. At least, that’s how I see this scene.
I've seen this movies more times than i can remember and still cracks me up, god bless Jim Carrey and his contagious energy, he can cheer up anyone, we never deserved him
The faces he makes are amazing. Like when he looks annoyed with the horn beeping at him, then the eyes he makes when he does his own "squeeze gently" lmao. PS. The elvis impersonation made me laugh.
I remember when I first watched this film on VHS. I cracked up so much when he blew that horn I must've rewound the video and watched it like 10 times :D
