Can we stop and admire how beautiful and populated this freaking lake is, i knew their were hundreds of African Cichlids but i didnt know they were so abundant
@Noor Q Brother you would have to ask the guy that posted this video. I always get my fishing from North Dallas Aquarium and they order them for me when I need them
Great video and please keep sharing more videos my friend :) When I hear words like wild caught from breeders I never understood but now I do... Cheers for your efforts
Would it be better for you and the fish to use the box guns they use on Lion fish? Seems netting could injuries your fish? Not really criticizing, just looking at alternate methods. You do have a heck of a cool job.
OH MAN I WISH I CAN DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS I WOULD HAVE A AWESOME LOOKING TANK WITH ALL THESE WILD CICHLIDS THEIR COLORS OUT OF THIS WORLD IF HE TOOK THEM HOME TO HIS TANK WOULD PROBABLY LOOK AWESOME
I was just at Lake Victoria the locals are more interested in the Talipia to eat and sell. I will be going to Malwai in the future but not to fish but I will visit the Lake.
Not really an issue that this type of collecting will decimate the population. Remember that people fish for food in the lake and they kill 100 times as many and these fish will hopefully live and breed for generations in the hobby.
Wrong, it is an issue. The number of fish being caught mainly for the aquarium trade is having a serious effect on fish populations in the lake. Do some research.
@@kingimage01 I've been in the hobby probably longer than you've been alive so you do the research. Lake Tanganyika with variations of populations existing in very limited areas is much more sensitive to this than Lake Malawi. If you're arguing that the hobby is taking more fish than the local fisherman take daily in lake Malawi you are as clueless as you sound.
Morten S. Jensen when I was watching your video I said I bet he breeds yellow labs. I did also, but I would love to watch how and if any difference in behavior with wild yellows. I ve had kept some aggressive yellows
A Precious net. They tear so easily. Shipped only from Europe. 5mm mesh. Some fish are too small to capture even with this small mesh. Reason is one of them. Much smaller then one can see in aquarium trade these days. I had to fold the net over in order the entangle it enough to secure it.
They are metriaclima zebra 👍 The OB gene is natural in several mbuna species, the OB peacocks and haps are hybrids mixed with mbuna that carry the OB gene = man made.
OB Mbuna exist in the Wild. The more famous Peacock OB is a Hybrid crossed with OB Mbuna. The OB Peacock doesn’t exists in the Wild, is a man created fish.
Dont think so. He is a typical norwegian out there tryin to fulfillment by oneself and show it to his facebookfriends. Most likely would the catch cost him the same as a slightly used second hand car
Thank you for not adding stupid annoying background music 👍
*Insert Faded- Alan Walker, here*
Infact the breathing O2 bubnle sound seems annyoing but not as much as the bg music
I can barely catch my african cichlids in my tank, and your over here catching fish bare handed in Lake Malawi! 😅 Thanks for sharring!

As a fish hobbyist this kinda makes me sad. Thats why I dont keep cichlids wild caught, they become too high in demand and risk over fishing them.
He's collecting them so he can breed them
Ever animal comes from the wild weather it be its parants or its self. Someone had to kidnap them.

I keep them in an aquarium and breed them.
I love it..
Electric yellows, no? I’m more of a tang man.
Morten S. Jensen when I was watching your video I said I bet he breeds yellow labs. I did also, but I would love to watch how and if any difference in behavior with wild yellows. I ve had kept some aggressive yellows

So cool, would you please share the species name of thoss you catched? Looks like OBs but i thought they don't exist in the wild
They are metriaclima zebra 👍 The OB gene is natural in several mbuna species, the OB peacocks and haps are hybrids mixed with mbuna that carry the OB gene = man made.
Wow
I mean Wow
What is the purpose?
wow
Dude likes the OBs he grabbed a few beauts
They were caught using a barrier net. I wanna do that
Desculpe mas não entendi esse vídeo, estão sendo capturados no lago para serem vendidos?
exacto e para reproducao tb
wooow
This is too easy. I always imagined them chasing fish with a small aquarium fish net.
Upload more videos brother
Do you need special permission to catch/keep these fish? How does one go about doing this? This is on my bucket list please advise :)
I want the answer to this too! Would love to do it too, but need to know what the red tape is...
Yes you need special permission 👍
I was told ob weren't wild fish !!
Haha same here
OB mbuna exist in the wild. I believe labidiochromus and maybe pseudotropheus last time i checked
Thought the same
OB Mbuna exist in the Wild.
The more famous Peacock OB is a Hybrid crossed with OB Mbuna.
The OB Peacock doesn’t exists in the Wild, is a man created fish.
Might be Nemo in there.
3:42 mbuna ❄️
❤❤❤
I thought they said OB don’t produce in the wild I’ve seen you caught a couple
Wow, he has 3 in his hand and still catches more!! Skill!!!!!
P. Sherman, 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney
What are the blue striped one and yellow camo looking one you caught at 3:53 seconds please ?!
The blue striped is Melanochromis interruptus and the Ob (camo) is a Metriaclima zebra
Beautiful fish must be a little more rare !
U enhance my love on Chichid ...is the water salt or sweat?
Pijush Ghosh sweat? It’s fresh water.
@@obsessivecichliddisorder7258 yah...i want to mean it frsh water😎
Wow man I bet you make a lot of money off them beautiful fish
