@Noor Q Brother you would have to ask the guy that posted this video. I always get my fishing from North Dallas Aquarium and they order them for me when I need them
Can we stop and admire how beautiful and populated this freaking lake is, i knew their were hundreds of African Cichlids but i didnt know they were so abundant
Not really an issue that this type of collecting will decimate the population. Remember that people fish for food in the lake and they kill 100 times as many and these fish will hopefully live and breed for generations in the hobby.
Wrong, it is an issue. The number of fish being caught mainly for the aquarium trade is having a serious effect on fish populations in the lake. Do some research.
@@kingimage01 I've been in the hobby probably longer than you've been alive so you do the research. Lake Tanganyika with variations of populations existing in very limited areas is much more sensitive to this than Lake Malawi. If you're arguing that the hobby is taking more fish than the local fisherman take daily in lake Malawi you are as clueless as you sound.
Morten S. Jensen when I was watching your video I said I bet he breeds yellow labs. I did also, but I would love to watch how and if any difference in behavior with wild yellows. I ve had kept some aggressive yellows
Would it be better for you and the fish to use the box guns they use on Lion fish? Seems netting could injuries your fish? Not really criticizing, just looking at alternate methods. You do have a heck of a cool job.
They are metriaclima zebra 👍 The OB gene is natural in several mbuna species, the OB peacocks and haps are hybrids mixed with mbuna that carry the OB gene = man made.
Great video and please keep sharing more videos my friend :) When I hear words like wild caught from breeders I never understood but now I do... Cheers for your efforts
OB Mbuna exist in the Wild. The more famous Peacock OB is a Hybrid crossed with OB Mbuna. The OB Peacock doesn’t exists in the Wild, is a man created fish.
A Precious net. They tear so easily. Shipped only from Europe. 5mm mesh. Some fish are too small to capture even with this small mesh. Reason is one of them. Much smaller then one can see in aquarium trade these days. I had to fold the net over in order the entangle it enough to secure it.
OH MAN I WISH I CAN DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS I WOULD HAVE A AWESOME LOOKING TANK WITH ALL THESE WILD CICHLIDS THEIR COLORS OUT OF THIS WORLD IF HE TOOK THEM HOME TO HIS TANK WOULD PROBABLY LOOK AWESOME
Boy I would love to buy some of the OB’s your collecting these make great new breeding stocks to make sure the wild stocks survive. These fish in captivity breed like rabbits so your concern for the species is unwarranted. You should really put your efforts in teaching these people how to manage there resources and not pollute the environment.
@@obsessivecichliddisorder7258 To be honest with you I didn't know that thank you for the information about that.. I thought they were a real ruby reds wow now I won't be buying them for 56.00 dollars a fish thanks man God bless you. So just curious your fish tank is beautiful one right?
Yea when I 1st got into the Cichlid hobby, I bought my 1st peacock and it was a Ruby Red real nice looking. Then I found out they was man made. Still a gorgeous fish.
Well If I was a fish I wouldn't want to be in an environment where there are possibly lions, snakes ,bares, hyenas and more predators that survive off eating things. Translate that to their natural predators.
Dont think so. He is a typical norwegian out there tryin to fulfillment by oneself and show it to his facebookfriends. Most likely would the catch cost him the same as a slightly used second hand car
Thank you for not adding stupid annoying background music 👍
*Insert Faded- Alan Walker, here*
Infact the breathing O2 bubnle sound seems annyoing but not as much as the bg music
I can barely catch my african cichlids in my tank, and your over here catching fish bare handed in Lake Malawi! 😅 Thanks for sharring!
I bet he's got a bad ass fish tank at home with some of the best fish out there ..

Hundreds??? Naive, cichlids inhabit some of THE largest freshwater lakes in the world, and the lakes are full of these fish.
Dude that's so cool, can you make a video on what you do after you catch them.
eat
@@washbea77 dumb ass they sell those
After they are caught they get sold into the aquarium fish hobby
This is the best sequel to finding Nemo yet! Crushed it!!
Lets Crush It! Finding Cyclids will make a better movie. Clownfish are a holes.
I wish i could experience it myself before I die.. I wanna say i caught all this cichlids myself in the wild, Lake Malawi 😍😍😍 how amazing😍🤩
Very cool video. Wow, multiple fish in the hand
Thanks
African cichlids are one of my favorite of all the cichlids. I own four by the way and i recently bought them.
As a fish hobbyist this kinda makes me sad. Thats why I dont keep cichlids wild caught, they become too high in demand and risk over fishing them.
He's collecting them so he can breed them
Ever animal comes from the wild weather it be its parants or its self. Someone had to kidnap them.

How can one take this trip?
Is this to breed them? Looks so good
What are the blue striped one and yellow camo looking one you caught at 3:53 seconds please ?!
The blue striped is Melanochromis interruptus and the Ob (camo) is a Metriaclima zebra
Would it be better for you and the fish to use the box guns they use on Lion fish? Seems netting could injuries your fish? Not really criticizing, just looking at alternate methods. You do have a heck of a cool job.
So cool, would you please share the species name of thoss you catched? Looks like OBs but i thought they don't exist in the wild
They are metriaclima zebra 👍 The OB gene is natural in several mbuna species, the OB peacocks and haps are hybrids mixed with mbuna that carry the OB gene = man made.
It's so clean
Wish India was the same
Is this you're video
I would love to have your job!!!!!
Do you need special permission to catch/keep these fish? How does one go about doing this? This is on my bucket list please advise :)
I want the answer to this too! Would love to do it too, but need to know what the red tape is...
Yes you need special permission 👍
wow i love cychilds.

New bloodlines in the hobby
paying top dollar for these sort of fish, highest quality you can get above f1 gens
Oh look! wild OB's

I thought they said OB don’t produce in the wild I’ve seen you caught a couple
very beautiful maison reef.
Woah man...what an experience....✌️✌️👋👋👋
That second one you caught is amazing
I was told ob weren't wild fish !!
Haha same here
OB mbuna exist in the wild. I believe labidiochromus and maybe pseudotropheus last time i checked

I thought your flipper at one point was a huge Ahli lol!
First fish looked like an O.B. - I thought those were all man-made and not found in the lake??

That’s Amazing, Did You Catch Any Sunshine Peacocks?
Those fish are beautiful! So, are you catching them for breeding or you own personal tank?
This is too easy. I always imagined them chasing fish with a small aquarium fish net.
How deep is that
What is the purpose?
can i buy it? I from Vietnam
Cost of buying costly cichlids are nil for the catcher
WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY AQUARIUM??? 💦
Lol
Amazing...job well done
Can u catch peacocks n haps as well
Wat prices...?
