I have to drive 70 Miles to and from the academy every day. My mornings will start at 0400 and sometimes the academy goes late and I wont get home til the AM
Thank you for your service
When I started back in the late 1990's pay was $10.85 hr. It's higher now, depending on where you're located. My brother has been in SE Houston Special Task Force for over 22 years & makes $27hr as a Sgt. He has his own team & works more with the Rangers, Swat, Marshal's, DEA & other Federal Agencies. Good luck & Get Sum 🤟
Hell yea brother
22 yrs and only making 27hr is crazy
@@jacoboreilly7526 I'm glad you said it because I was thinking the same thing lmao

Damn, Texas LEO pay must be low. In California LEO pay normally at least 40 an hour starting, and much higher after 22 years.
Bro your academy is so chill! In mine we wake up 0400 to be in formation everyday and we have to shave all the time that’s crazy to see how chill your academy is. We get yelled at a lot lol
I was seriously hoping I wouldn’t get such an academy….so much like basic
How did you find the police academy acdemics exam
hey man i want to become a police officer. Do you go to the academy like going to college or school on a daily basis? Is it almost like a 9-5 job?
Yea you go to the police academy which is basically a 9-5 job in a school setting. Depending on your academy you might get to go home everyday, others you sleep in the facility assigned to you and that would be your location for the whole academy.
wow when I went through, we sure as hell couldnt have any phones till the last week. Couldnt leave the property to eat either. Wow looks sick
Damn that’s crazy ….can’t even imagine what that was like
We start on 4:45, 1 km jogging, and Day ends 21:45 in my academy.
7 months on barracks, next 6 months in riot squads-then we go to our parent unit
Sorry for my English.
Greatings from Poland 😁
Hi there i hope it’s going well so far
2nd year on the job Philadelphia PD . I don’t remember being so chilled during academy , it doesn’t even look like an academy…. Looks like a google call center
Lol when I went thru the police academy in 2014, we couldn’t have no phones at all, basically no contact with the outside world for 12 weeks until we went home on the weekends
0600 is when school starts and we salute the flag 😂
Thank you for this video 💙
My pleasure
Thanks for the insight man. Cool video. Its prertty embarassing that all these people are coming out of the woodwork saying that their academy was so much harder though.
Different strokes for different folks i guess
you look like that police officer in the movie ambulance
Yes I get that a lot
When I went the academy I got up everyday at 0420. I was at the gate waiting to be let in the parking at 0600. The academy didn't start until 0700😢😢
Military OSUT MP 0500 wake up with drill sgts in your face. Basically roll out of your bunk and start doing push-ups. Not sure if it’s easier now than it was in 2017.
this dude got some freak of nature genetics, look at his triceps back and arm span lmao
Hey I appreciate it man… the gains are coming in
We weren’t even allowed to have phones lol. Relaxed af
Every academy is different based on department
I go to temple police academy this July. any advice?
Good luck with it…hope it turns out well, really good teachers out there
Thank you for this video ! Looking to join soon!
You’ve got this, and its my pleasure making the video
Did you become a cop?
This academy looks so chill no yelling and waking up at 6 am??? Bro we are getting smoked every break no cell phones
Thank you for your service warrior
Found this by accident, super interesting. Keep it up ---> subbed ;-)
Greetings from Germany
Thank you, glad you liked it
7:00 this is so funny to me😂
😂😂…mango
Dude was struggling to pick up a gun. In a hostile situation and he does that. the criminal will be like bruh really🤣
First off wasn’t a hostile situation, second I had an injury prior, but in a real hostile situation that would not Be good so I am understanding of why you said that
Going to work with a SURPA 🔥
Yuh 😮💨😮💨
i thought it was a supra
Up at 6!!!! OMG YOU GOT TO SLEEP IN!!!! lol I had to be in formation by 6 AM 5 days a week. Couldn't leave for lunch, had to bring in our drinks and food. If you missed one day you would be recycled back into the next class. Even leaving early was considered abandonment they told us get your life in order for the next 6 weeks. I had one day where I got home late and shaved the night before so I didn't do it that morning before going in and I got ripped a new one. They also couldn't figure out their uniforms while i was there. I wore 511's and one week that was ok the next week i got written up for it because we were supposed to be in state approved pants only. The next week we were told it was ok, and then i got written up for it a week later again lol.
God bless you brother ❤
Thanks man
If they are like showing the slides on the PPT. do you write it down or kind of like memorize it- I'm wondering
We write what we need to right down but we also have the study materials provided to us on a learning platform
My academy made us leave our phones in our vehicles. Got 5 mins a week if we were lucky to try to talk to family. Hardest part of the entire academy
Question: You can have a part-time or full-time job and go to the academy at the same time?
Damn this academy is smooth , we got smoked non stop !
Damn that’s crazy, we got smoked a couple of time out here as well but I’m sure it’s probably nothing compared to yours
do u guys get yelled at? also what did the taser feel like, and what did pepper spray feel like?
Is this in Temple Tx or the bell county area by chance?
Temple tx
What’s the name of the song you were playing in the car
I believe I had tomorrow by glorilla and closer by oxlade playing in this video
A lot more older guys then i expected in the academy
Woww that academy seems so chill, which one do you go to?
been trying to decide whether I want to be a police officer or stick with my plans of being a mechanic. im more convinced to do this than be a mechanic but still not sure currently.
you can try both
You sure get paid pretty good as a cop or a mechanic depending on where and who you work for…just gotta find what you look like doing
love the content bro
I appreciate that..trying my best
Bro I wish my academy was like this. We all got yelled at and had to be in formation by 0430 even though start time was supposed to be 0700😂. Had PT and 3-4 hours of defensive tactics back to back.
Damn that’s rough man, we had defensive tactics for only a week and we thought that was rough. Y’all are beasts man
How far along in the academy are you right now? Out of curiosity, btw you going straight into the job once you're certified or you still gotta apply for an agency after the academy?
I was 5 months in and I went in sponsored thru a police department as opposed to paying myself so I would have gone straight to the job
@@gabelab7252 you thru the FTO program?
Ya'll have to run a lot? How much running and how often? Like, is it M W F some form of running for PT?
Yea something like that, 3 days of running for sure. Did not necessarily have to be M W F, and then some days we just had a random unexpected run
Look forward to seeing you on the streets! Be safe my friend.
You be safe to man
Hey bro are you a fellow African too? Can head a accent can’t pinpoint it lol. I’m trying to be a deputy sheriff in the Houston area after college next year hopefully 🙏🏾
I’m Nigerian brother, and goodluck to you with the sheriff position you’re working towards
I only seen 1 thing being taught to these cadets. That's how to draw ur weapon.
There’s actually a lot more than that taught to us, that can’t be posted unfortunately
Man…. My academy is nothing like this. And I love it lol
Why’s this academy look so laid back ?😮
What song were you singing on The way to the academy?
Easiest academy ever lol. You should see what a stress academy looks like. You all have hair and facial hair. No bearing. No smokesesh. No grinder. EZ
in portugal you need to stay in the police academy for 9/10 months and pass all the tests to join the police. Im currently in the academy to finish it in october, i will make it !💪 I wish i could have your routine though ahahahah for us is 24/7 in the academy
Idk if you’re in the academy or not but I wish you good luck with it
Lol our academy didnt let you home until friday night. Then report back Sunday evening
Hi man. I want to be a police officer in usa too. I am very young actually and I don't live in usa but I'll come there and I will make my dreams come true. I am gaining information for being a police officer in usa and I always wanted to know what the academy was like. So this video helped a lot. I am writing this comment after 1 year you published the video because ı find this video randomly but I'll look to your channel. So if you succeseded to become a police officer congrats. (Sorry if I made any gramer mistakes while writing this comment. English is not my mother tongue.)
This police academy is very laxed lol mine wasn’t hard at all and it wasn’t even this easy.
It definitely was
Temple, texas? I live in killeen now thinking about becoming a p.o
You should definitely do it hell yea
Which city/state/county/municipality's academy is this?
Temple texas
0800 start time is late lol. we started at 0600
Yea it was lol..but the extra sleep didn’t hurt after doing it for a while in the army
imma be honest, i see a big diff between military and this. i was 0311 in the marines just got out and no way anyone would’ve made it out alive with all that giggling and laughing during that ‘training’ he’s doing. Also doesn’t look like they practice good stance habits @14:25 you can see how getting the weapon out is more important than solid base/proper footing is.
Hi, what holster you wear in this video?
I actually don’t know…but I’ll find out and get back with you?
@@gabelab7252 will be very appreciated
Update: it’s called safari land holster
Safari land holster
@@gabelab7252 thank you!
Come to mine so mean I’ve been a police officer for eight years now so I’ve been here for eight years. I am one known police officer to Scott county police department lake and the fair and the school and the neighborhood
do that outside guys
