They just make deals. If I’m Bauer, and your Sherwood, and I want the rights, but the player likes your stick, I’ll pay you for the advertising rights, and you pay the player for using the stick.
actually I think they do, Bauer graphics gives the advertising revenue to Bauer, but the player makes a deal with say CCM to use their sticks but with different graphics
Some of the popular builds Kucherov used a G3 basically an old Bauer nexus 1000 build with 77 flex and even players use really old builds for example Marc Staal uses a old one95 build and for the other builds that have 2NPROXL basically the XL stands for extra light if you’re wondering what that means and some players like Stamkos a few years ago used ultrasonic build but got rid of the five sided shaft as he was not a fan of it basically there’s like 1 million hockey stick builds
Your point about a lot of pro sticks being dressed as other sticks pretty much invalidates the accuracy of this video unfortunately. I have several pro sticks ... for example an "Alpha QX" that is really a Covert QRL ... a "Covert QR5 Pro" that is actually an Alpha LX Pro. Given that a lot of people are finding the Warrior Alpha LX2 Pro is actually not as a good as the original LX Pro, I would wager that most NHLers that appear to be using the LX2 Pro are actually still using the LX Pro.
I hear ya for sure, but like I said no one tracks the actual models as that isn't readily available info. GearGeek does an amazing job tracking which sticks graphics are being used, and that is hands down the best resource we have available. Agreed on the LX2 Pro vs LX Pro, I bet a lot of guys still use it
@@1q3er5 yeah, it was. Though, the solution for that is the pro stock sticks dressed as something else. The LX Pro I have dressed as a QR5 Pro has the grip of the QR5 Pro. And I got it for under $200. 😎
I have two McDavid pro returns. One a Super Tacks and one a AS4 Pro. Both with McDavids custom curve. The Super tacks curve is a little taller and has a shorter blade length. The crazy part about the stick is the build is a “FV” on the code. With is a very old model of CCM stick from the early 2010. The blade is an exact carbon weave from a Reebok 11k. The shaft on the sticks are also similar. to this weave on the blade. The other crazy part is when McDavid uses a new stick graphic it is still the same build I am talking about above. Sometimes he will use an actually FT5 pro build.
I currently use the nexus geo. I find the 5 sided shaft sits in the hand really well. The 5 side shaft is also on the nexus sync. I really like the feel of the stick and would recomend the geo
I personally use a ribcor 7 pro and just broke it at the middle of the blade like my last ccm. Other than that it’s been a great stick. One thing about it is that you will never generate the same kind of power as you would with a mid kick but the release is super snappy and effortless
I used to buy name brand sticks. They are overpriced. Since I've found hockey stick man all black sticks that's all I'll use. I bought my first one last year at a hockey store that bought a load of them. They said they were a bauer 2s pro with no label and I got it for $140. So light and so consistent.
@@hockeycollective ya mine broke after the 3rd game. took a clapper and some dude stick checked it snapped in two…I have the proto R now lasted 6 games so far and looks new…shots are popping, but I find the grip is not very good for stick handling
Awesome video, I recently bought the rekker legend 1, because Sherwood claims it’s the same tech as the pro just a bit more durable. Love it so far and one of the better looking sticks. Also bought one of the Easton synergy remakes from baur for the nostalgia. Surprisingly it’s a nice twig in my opinion
i bought a bauer supreme ultrasonic, broke it, got a hyperlight 2, but then quickly switched back when i fixed my stick, it doesn’t flex the same but i like the kickpoint and the blade feels stiffer
First off, quality video. Totally respect the time and effort out into this. Top shelf Brother. Can we get more of these that will focus on skates, gloves etc. 🔥🔥
It always fascinates me how, no matter their brand deals, the majority of NHL players will still choose the Oakley 831 or the Oakley 825 as their visor. I'll never understand what makes them so good, but I'm sure I'll go for either of them once I'm comfortable enough to use a visor
i can't speak for hocky, but in foot ball people used the Oakley because it fogged up less than every other visor available besides Nike but had way higher scratch resistance than the Nike.
Cool vid, but you’re contradicting yourself because we all know players use sticks that are dressed to look like the newest stick. I don’t think any of the pros mentioned that have a nexus sync actually use a sync. Most likely 2NPROXL. McDavid has also been known to use older CCM builds dressed as newer models.
For sure man - like I said a lottt of NHL guys have their stick dressed up as something else. But unfortunately there is no comprehensive data on what those sticks are. GearGeek does an A+ job tracking the graphics and identifying older sticks covered up when possible, so went with their data!
You should do the same type of video and talk about kick point. Also, all these hyperlite type sticks are crap. They disintegrate after a short time. My 13 yo son shattered the blade of a Hyperlite within 30 days of buying. It was an "upgrade" from his 3x. He hated it. Too light and not enough heft to create flex. He went back to the X3 (formerly the 3X). He is much happier. FWIW...
I like using 2 piece stick shaft brakes keep blade blade brakes keep shaft i play a lot i dont get free sticks like nhl players im center and actually like the 2 piece stick good puck feel and its lite enough 👌
Incorrect. According to GearGeek, not a single STX stick is used in the NHL today. I just went and looked at every player who has used an STX at *some point* and none of them currently are today. This is GearGeek's job - to track sticks. I trust them

Thank you!
I buy a lot of pro stock sticks and I’ve found that most Bauer sticks in the NHL are actually 2NPROXL or ADV sticks.
That's very interesting to hear, thanks man! Where do you usually buy em?

tons of sticks, being wrapped in another brand

The Derick Brassard stick I got was a 2nProXL and the one broke in a week lol. The other one I’ve had since the other broke.
I miss Easton. I was a huge Stealth CX fan when those games out
Man same. I grew up on Easton's, wish we still had em
I wish Easton would still make sticks, I have always liked their stealth line
Me too, grew up always using Easton!
Uhh, how in the hell does one company make a stick and put another manufacturers logos on it and not get sued?

Lol! Thank you@@rumble815
I hope oval shaped shafts become a thing
There used to be a shaft, before one piece sticks were the thing, that had the 5 sides and even six. Everyone was using the ultra light or Z bubble.
Hah, you picked one of very few games where Sebastian Aho used a Bauer. He uses Warrior 99.9% of the time.
Yea I've always seem him as a Warrior guy, but from what I've seen, the last few weeks at least have been HyperLites

I have seen a few using the Warrior Novium Pro stick, I will buy one to try it out next, good video.

So far very good mate, great stick for me, zero durability issues. You should try it out if you get the chance 👍

Most pro bauer sticks are skinned Vapor ADV sticks or Supreme pro light sticks
Edit: 2N pro lights are also very common as well
I have heard the same, thanks for confirming! Personally liked the 2N line, but didn't love the ADV at the time
What do the jetspeed and the sync have in common? Both hybrid kick points
I need on if these for lacrosse sticks in the pll and nll
