  • ★★ The Bund ★★
    ------------------------------
Coming to Shanghai and missing the Bund is like visiting Beijing and bypassing the Forbidden City or the Great Wall.
The Bund is the iconic landmark of Shanghai and the area around the Bund is the tourist center of Shanghai and is the city's most famous mile.
The word bund means an embankment or an embanked quay.
The Chinese name for the Bund is unrelated in meaning: it means literally the "outer bank", referring to the Huangpu River, because this part of the riverfront was located farther downstream than the "inner bank" area adjacent to the old walled city of Shanghai.
The Bund is a famous waterfront on the west bank of Huangpu River and regarded as the symbol of Shanghai.
Here, the charm of Shanghai as a bustling metropolis combining the century-old history and flourishing future is fully presented, making the Bund Shanghai a must-see attraction.
The most classic route to explore the Bund is either to wander from the north end to the south or the contrary way.
Along the way, you will see the most famous and attractive sight in the Bund, namely 26 colonial-era buildings of different western architectural styles, which give the Bund Shanghai China the fame as a 'museum of international architecture'.
    ------------------------------
★★ The East Nanjing Road ★★
    ------------------------------
Nanjing Road is a road in Shanghai.
The eastern part of Nanjing Road is the main shopping streets of Shanghai, China, and is one of the world's busiest shopping streets along with Fifth Avenue and Times Square.
The street is named after the city of Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu neighbouring Shanghai.
Today's Nanjing Road comprises two sections, Nanjing Road East and Nanjing Road West.
East Nanjing Road is committed a commercial zone.
In the west part of precinct was traditionally the hub of European-style restaurants and cafes, but in recent years some other buildings were constructed in this area, it has become less of a feature as the demographics of visitors to Nanjing Road have shifted from affluent local residents to visitors from around the country.
Close by is the Central Market, a century-old outdoor market today specialising in electronic components and digital media.
Further west is the Nanjing Road pedestrian mall. Located there are most of Shanghai's oldest and largest department stores, as well as a variety of domestic retail outlets, and some traditional eateries with a long history.
    ------------------------------
★★ The Largest Huawei Flagship Store ★★
    ------------------------------
Huawei hosted the Grand Opening of its largest Huawei flagship store on Shanghai East Nanjing Road on June, 2020.
The Store is Located in the Nanjing Building in the city's thriving commercial hub, with a business area of nearly 5000 square meters.
The Art Deco-style building was built in 1935, by Mr. Silas Aaron Hardoon, a British real estate tycoon. Careful renovation, incorporating modern design and materials, has breathed new life into this historic building, making it a "City Square" where the local community can have fun, learn, share and innovate.
The East Nanjing Road flagship store provides consumers with rich full-scenario experience, enabling every guest to truly experience how ubiquitous connectivity will seamlessly integrate AI into every aspect of their daily life.

Thank you for this great video. So happy to read people are opening their eyes & hearts to true China. The media in many countries paint beautiful China as dirty, country & miserable people. I spent 70 days between 2017 & 2020 in Beijing, Changsha, Zhangjiajie, Nanjing & multiple villages in between to experience most people are happy, curious, very intelligent, like to laugh & love their country just like the other 14 countries I visited. The cities are very clean with numerous shopping, beautiful sites (traditional & modern) & very safe. Follow the laws, respect everyone, use the trash cans & keep an open mind for a wonderful experience. I look forward to my next visit to beautiful China & wish everyone continuous blessings.

True story, I'm french and I come from a little town, so as my family (from my side). My wife is from shanghai and we got used to go there.
Once, I was walking in these crowded areas, reminding myself that shanghai is a third of france total poulation, it's amazing. Then, I saw some meters away someone who was incredibly familiar to me: it was in reality my aunt that lives in the small hometown I used to grow up. I even didn't know she was here, and yet our paths crossed that day, my wife and I couldn't believe it, as to say it's a small small world, even in Shanghai ^^

@Ronald Jefferson well Trump popularised anti-China sentiment, and since the US still has a slightly strong anti-Trump sentiment, I think most will overlook it. And trust in the media is about 22% in the US I think? Don’t think ppl will buy into it. Liberal media, of which the majority of Americans watch, don’t really push it either. At best they’d be anti-communist (because corporate) and the Uyghur cultural genocide. Other than that, I don’t think so

But it is better to avoid peak seasons in the summer and national holidays to avoid crowds. Whatever your travel preference is, modern cities, or ancient towns, natural wonders or engineering marvels, traditional Chinese or ethnic minority cultures, big mountains and seas or huge grassland and deserts, you could find plenty of places within China that suit your appetite.

I can't get over my head, I'm shocked, I had contact with the Middle Kingdom for a total of 8.5 years as I worked first for a seaman, then an officer on Chipolbrok ships, thanks to which I was in ports from Dalian, Xinkiang to Tsamkong and Whampo I have always been to Shanghai, even twice (unloading and loading). When I saw the name of Nankin Road in the title of this film, which at that time (at least until 1985) was known to every Pole, I became interested. I see in this video, it's just a shock, I don't recognize anything. This district looks like it was from another planet, amazing, but from the water (the beginning of Nankin Road), on the right, there was a hotel on the right, further behind the park, on the left and first on the right, there was a fish market. . The Chinese are not only a great number (population) but have always been honest and hardworking.

Shanghai is a modern-day metropolis that I would like to visit someday. It has a long, rich history. There is the sense of nostalgia when walking around the Bund, the architecture of the buildings, the nearby riverbend, the nightclubs, and triads of the 1930's and 1940's. It is what I think about when I watch the TVB series of the 80's.

Yes, it all looks impressive, but what is more impressive is if you look up what Shanghai looked like 20 years ago and see just how far it has come in such short time.
20 years ago my parents brought me from China to Canada, and while life here has been pretty good, things feel stagnant, nothing really changed in this country over the 20 years that I have been here. Meanwhile back home, life has been improving at an exciting pace and everyone is super motivated and has a positive outlook for the future. I really envy that kind of positivity and motivation that permeates the society, something that is really lacking here in Canada.

I have the same feeling as a fellow Asian (Vietnamese) in Germany. I love Germany, my parents migrated here to escape poverty and give me a better life. But life feels a bit... boring here. Nothing has really changed in 20 years. Asia on the hand has transformed. It's no longer the poor continent I left when I was a kid. It's so lively and booming. And I have to say, China probably is the most miraculous transformation of all Asian countries.

Proud that my country (serbia) has good relations with China and Russia .. The two countries being demonized by the "prosperous" West, but, in reality, I'd like to move East, while everyone is dreaming of Germany .. I've also got a Hungarian passport, being from Vojvodina, so I can live anywhere in the EU I want.. lived with my mom in Berlin for 2 years, of course I know German, but... Couldn't bare it anymore.. capitalism and the people and filth, drugs, crime, violence, radicalism (of all sorts) .. Been to Moscow after that.. never been to a safer and cooler city... My dream is to go to China one day but, as a simple chef (with a love for languages) I doubt I can make it true.. Maybe if I start working in a chinese restaurant and start learning cooking skills and mandarin ... Or I can teach English, I have a TEFL certificate ..who knows.. just want to travel, learn and explore more.. that's why I'm a fan of cooking, linguistics and history. Onething is clear..
The East is the real "West"

You let yourself be blinded. Shanghai has 26.3 million residents, Berlin only 3.7 million. Of corse the city is bigger and can afford a lot more. These things, streets and buildigns in this video are indeed very beautiful! But there are also other areas of Shanghai, for the people that are not rich! There are also slums. There is also a diffenrent between surveillance and harsh punishments. Better compare german cities with chinese cities that does have the same population.

@@BlueGamer335 Hardly what to compare.. I'm aware of the difference that you've pointed out, but something doesn't make sence.. You say tahat it's a biger city and can affford more? Shouldn't then a city with less than 4 mil. people, which is the capital of the mightiest European (and one of the worlds leading) economies, take care of a Smaller city than this and make it lik beautiful? They're rich and have the money, but no will, to eradicate al the crime and homelessness, open drug use (Not smoking weed but injecting freely, wherever, doesn't feel nice when I'm taking a walk with my little sister and see it 3 times) in the city.. And as I mentioned, so many in tents literally in the center of the city, under S-Bahn railway bridges. And you think that the police don't keep you under surveillance here? You must be joking.. But, anyway, I don't mind being under surveillance since I have no business in crime. And you know that you are more under surveillance in the UK than in China (statistically). As for the harsh punishment... For what... For what would I be punished harsh in Shanhgai? I have friends wo went to China and some of them never left. These are guys who love partying and are just normal guys who work, they go out, drink, and yeah, a friend of mine sometimes does drugs, but in 10 years that he's been in China (we chat almost daily) he never had a single, smallest problem inChina.. So many people fall for the Western "free media" narrative that, literally, you have to listen to what the media says and then know that it's the opposite... Love for China !
