Holy cow - this is a serious win. You've probably got thousands of dollars of yarn in your "new stash". What a generous friend. Just out of curiosity, given that you may not like or see a use for all of the yarn you've acquired, has she given you licence to sell what isn't your jam?
she’s amazing 🥺 and yes, the yarn’s mine to do whatever i want with! i have other local friends who would appreciate what i don’t want though, so i plan to share the generosity around though
This is so funny - I had a friend give me 4 buckets worth of amazing yarn back in March and it was just amazing. I had never seen anyone else be given so much yarn before, but you've got me beat on this one! Lol

You can also double up on the yarn for a thicker yarn.
good point!! I don’t quite have enough of most of the fingering yarn to get a garment out of it doubled up, but i’ve made some cute things holding it with mohair so far to bulk it out a little 🥰

ahh too bad we don't know each other irl!! i was able to give those colors to a friend who really likes bright yarn though so it didn't go to waste!
All I can think about is how much money that is, especially all of that silk. Also made me realize I’ve never seen pure silk yarn before
I"ve been doing some research on synchronicity and the universe and why it happens and how you can attract more into your life and how the two of you met fits right in! What a cool, fascinating story! This is no random coincidence and has to have higher meaning.. and more than just that you were meant to get all that great yarn! lol

Wow!!!! I really liked those Fall for November and Pancake & Lulu yarns, their colours are gorgeous. Slightly unrelated but I just stumbled upon your channel yesterday and I’m obsessed! We’ve got similar tastes in projects-I’m really inspired by your preppy, retro tennis knits from a different video:) also your sense of humour and your editing style are great! Also-and this is just completely unrelated-is that an Eames chair in the background?!?

no she doesn’t have one! she’s going to keep knitting but she only kept the yarn for specific projects and some socks she wants to make :)

oh my god how much yarn did your friend have if this was the pile she got rid of?! 😂
she gave me most of it and just kept the small amount she had immediate plans for! this was mostly gifted to her by relatives over the years, so that’s why the stash got so big and it has so many variety packs with just a few balls of each color!
Where are you located I'm a born and raised Vermonter and would like to meet you. I wish I new more knitters close by other than family
