I was a heavy equipment operator in the Seabees and was fortunate to drive 2 different very heavy duty DM 800 Mack's one with a V8 and one with a straight 6. Along with other tractor trailers hauling heavy equipment. I spent hours and hours building models back in the day.
Thanks, Jim for stopping by and leaving a comment. I'm sure you can tell some stories about the things you saw and experienced while working around trucks over the years. I want to say that is an aftermarket cab. I'm not sure who made it though. But Texas 3D Customs now 3D prints that cab. tx3dcustoms.com/products/ford-wt9000-kit
Hello, I am looking to see if anyone has any information on who owns/built the Ford LTL9000 at about the three minute and six second mark about the period correct sleeper doors that are on the truck. If so the kit I have doesn't have those sleeper doors. I would like to reach out to the guy whom possibly scratch built the door or bought the doors separately. Any information would be appreciated thank you!
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment, Mary. I wish I could help more, but I do not know who built the LTL9000. Maybe someone else who reads this might? But I will still try to help. May I ask what version of this kit you have? Italeri issued two versions of this kit. One as a tractor in 1993 and one as a tow truck, called the US Wrecker Truck, 2004. The tow truck came with a smaller sleeper similar to the LTL 9000 in this video that you mentioned. Revell of Germany also issued this as a tractor in 1993 and was most recently issued by AMT just a couple of years ago. The first Italeri, Revell of Germany, and AMT versions are the same model. Just different box art, decals and branding on the box.
@Claude Boulais I've seen your LTL 9000 and wanted to inquire If your bunk doors were Scratch built or is that a whole different kit? Because the kit I have has freightliner bunk.
That's TOP SHELF work!!! It's so Cool these Builders have some kind of imagination!!! It just looks right!!! Thanks for the tour......And you keep building them and I will keep watching them. I'm out.👍👍👍.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. There is one Hendrickson in this video at 4:05. I honestly don't who makes any Hendrickson conversion kits, but I'll ask around and let you know what I find out.
@@rj2571 well thank you. I'm looking to build a kit for an old friend who still operates a '62 Hank with a dump trailer. His grandpa and dad had Hendrickson trucks in their ready mix and gravel hual business years ago. For a short time I drove an old Hank when cutting my teeth for a trucking career back in the '70s.
@@butchs6099 It's been a while but I finally have some info. Illini Replica Conversions made some Hendrickson conversion kits. They made a late 40"s A Model, a 1960's B Model, a 1970's H Model and a 1980's VT 100. But unfortunately I do not know if the conversion kits are still being made.
There are some 1/16th trucks in this vid. They are highly modified toys that were originally made by Bruder and Ertl. I don't know who built them, but whomever did build them did a very nice job with them. The only 1/16 trucks I can think of are the Monogram releases from the early 80's when they made a Peterbilt 359 and Kenworth W900.

No, you or anyone else is never to old to build models. If it's something you enjoy doing, then by all means do it. The part I enjoy the most of the shows I go to is meeting new people and seeing friends I've met over the years going to these shows. I've met many great people and that alone has made this a very rewarding hobby. If there are any shows or contests in your area go and check them out. I've learned that almost all modelers at the shows I've been to couldn't be happier to tell you about their models and how they built them. Like you I also built, or attempted to build, models as a kid. 10 years ago I started building again and have learned so much over that time. And still a lot more to learn.

The Tri State Model Car club hosts the show and they do an excellent job with it. The Wayne PAL is easy to get to. Usually the line to get in is very long. Many people get there hours early and wait to get in. But even with a long line it does move quickly once they start to let people in. It does help to print your registration forms ahead of time, but they do hand them out to the people who are waiting in line that need them. If you need a hotel there is a host hotel. There is more info about the hotel on the NNL website. People from all over go to this show. Last year there was people from Arizona there and I think also Great Britain and France. If you have any other questions about this show please ask. I'm happy to help as much as I can.
I'm also going to be building a model truck replica kit and a model trailer replica kit of a gmc ASTRO Miller high-life beer 🍺 truck and trailer, to add to the already great model car replica and model truck replica kit collection that I also have.
I'm now currently working on a model of a g.m.c. general Coca-Cola conventional truck but it won't have the Coca-Cola decals on it instead it will have the Gaines foods refrigerated food transit company on both the truck and the great Dane refrigerated(refer)trailer. The real Gaines foods refrigerated food transit company refrigerated(refer) trailer is 40 feet long, the model trailer I'm going to be building is a 1/25 scale refrigerated(refer) truck trailer only half as long as the real great Dane refrigerated(refer) truck trailer. The color of this g.m.c. general conventional truck with a sleeper compartment mounted on the back of this truck cab is painted 🎨 the color of satin aqua blue 💙, the great Dane refrigerated(refer) trailer will closely match the truck trailer but this great Dane refrigerated(refer) truck trailer will also have a black top a large white stripe that runs down both sides of the trailer and across the bottom of the front of this truck trailer as well, this will be the 10th truck that I have built and only the 3rd truck trailer that I have also built. Because I'm also working on building a gravel hauling truck trailer as well. To add to the Coca-Cola 1972 Peterbuilt pacemaker 352 cabover truck and trailer that I have built,I have built a dump-truck that is silver and pig 🐖 skin pink with a silver dump bed, I have built a Peterbuilt 359 wrecker. I have built a Los Angeles County California fire department fire truck for Los Angeles County fire department Station no: 106 I have built a 1970's international transtar cabover truck, and I also have built a 1980's white-freigtliner cabover truck with the logo thunder bay sand&gravel company located in Lansing, michigan and I'm currently also working on the gravel trailer that will be hooked up to the white-freigtliner cabover truck and I will also be building a second gravel hauling trailer for this white-freigtliner truck as well,I'm now also working on building a model truck replica of a Ford ltn-8000 maintenance dump-truck for the county of Alpena, in the state of Michigan and Alpena, michigan is were I now live.I will also soon be working on building two more truck's a kenworth w-900 conventional cement truck and a kenworth w-925 conventional model truck replica kit that I will also be building a moebius 1/25 scale replica of an actual 40 foot long flatbed truck trailer that I will place a load of crushed scrap junk cars 🚗's to a scrap recycling company in Atlanta,Georgia. And in the near future I will be building some more new model car replica's and model truck replica's as well to add to my model car and model truck replica collection.
And when I get done building the current model car and model truck replica kit's that I'm working on I will be starting to build a model replica of a bulldozer that was featured on the television 📺 series emergency and I will also be building a model pick-up truck replica of the sanford&son salvage pick-up that was driven by Lamont Sanford on the television 📺 series sanford&son, and I will also be building a model van replica of the gmc van that was featured on the television 📺 series the a-team, and if I can get my hands on a model replica tow-truck that cooter davenport drove on the television 📺 series the duke's of Hazzard and also find three model kit replica's of uncle Jesse Duke's 1973 Ford f-100 pick-up truck daisy Duke's jeep Dixie and boss Jefferson Davis hogg's 1970 2-door Cadillac convertible and the replica of the motorcycle 🏍 that ms Tisdale also rode on the television 📺 series the duke's of Hazzard I would be really happy to then have the whole duke's of Hazzard collection of vehicle's that were featured and seen in the television 📺 series the duke's of Hazzard.
My father owned a 1972 Peterbuilt pacemaker 352 cabover truck he had the trailer that was hooked up to his truck fully loaded but when he went to get into his truck and start it up to take the cargo that was on his trailer that he also owned to the destination were it was supposed to go my dad had found that his truck had been stolen but the fully loaded trailer that was hooked up to his truck was still at the yard of the company that my dad worked for still sitting in the yard but his truck was gone(stolen) to this very day his 1972 Peterbuilt 352 pacemaker cabover truck has never been found (recovered) and I have a feeling that this 1972 Peterbuilt 352 pacemaker cabover truck will never ever be recovered(found) I wanted this truck because I have always liked and loved the truck's that both Peterbuilt and kenworth and international truck companies have built and with the brand new Peterbuilt 385-or 387 has built looks alot greater than any previous model's that any of the 3 companies named above have ever built in the history of all 3 of the companies named above. Oh Ford has built some great truck's as well as has g.m.c. and Chevrolet and even the truck's that dodge, part of the Chrysler corporation had built as well. Volvo has even built some very excellent and great truck's themselves and all the truck companies named above have built some very excellent and great truck's that are still on American road's and even still on the road's of Europe 🇪🇺 and even alot of these truck's are still on the road's of Sydney Australia 🇦🇺 as well as other countries around the whole world 🌎. 1: Peterbuilt 2:kenworth 3:international 4:Ford 5:gmc 6:Volvo., these are the only 6 truck companies that I can only think of right now.

Stinks to hear that your father's 352 was stolen. But I'm sure it would make a great subject to model.
