If they had Weather the Storm, they could have survived, and with other instants potentially gained a ton of life. I felt it was safer to use the Blasts as a reaction to something like Weather, and proactively just use my creatures to end the game
The main deck we want Breath Weapon against is Mono Red Kuldotha. Between Tomb Raider and Reckless Lackey both being Pirates, it's definitely better to run Breath Weapon, even if it does kill our own monarch creature
If by "filter their deck" you mean deck thinning, that's totally irrelevant. And game 2 that you mentioned, I cut them off black mana entirely. They never drew a Prism or Petal, so for all we know they were stuck with a bunch of Infectious Inquiries in hand. But it was primarily about reducing their mana, not even hampering colors. Blowing up 2 of their depletion lands reduced the total mana they had by 2. I think the very fact that we beat them proves you wrong.
after this 2h of gameplay, I liked the deck but I think you should replace Galvanic Blast with Lightning Bolt. The deck has a lot of artifacts, but it seems like its not enough; saw you struggling too many times making galblast and shaman worth it.
@StrataGames also, maybe you could slot in Myr enforcers to have both more creatures and artifacts and/or reckoner's bargain for HP gain, making it a more sturdy deck.
I think that would work, but definitely leans more towards aggro/midrange than control. I do have a couple videos of Rakdos Affinity lists on the channel though, using Enforcers!
Enjoyed the hell out of tihs, long time Wildfire enjoyer
A single Forest with Weather the Storm in the side would probably be prudent.
Teasdale's original list did this exactly. I'm not sure it's necessary, but doesn't hurt the mana much
Love this deck! nice vid
Thanks! It's tons of fun
56:44 why not double galvanic on their upkeep?

@StrataGames Ah fair makes sense, thanks for pointing it out!
@@zOOmer991 Of course!
Isnt Fiery cannonade instead of Breath Weapon a better choice since Crimson Fleet is a pirate?

Blowing up the storage lands is almost 100% incorrect, they have petals and prism to fix. You just helped them filter their deck especially game 2.

Yeah, definitely worth looking at adding more artifacts if we can or making the switch to lightning bolts
