WOW. Walking out of this episode really wanting to play a... 1. 100 Hour Fantasy JRPG 2. Action Packed Summer Blockbuster FPS 3. Extremely Disturbing 3hr. Indie Horror Absolutely love the discussions here. Keep up the amazing work ❤️❤️❤️ Sad to hear about Life is Strange! I loved True Colors and the town of Haven Springs and had been looking forward to this 🥲
For the stair thing, if you say "some scary stairs" by brain goes for stairs leading down, but if you say "a scary staircase" my brain wants to envision the entire staircase. So it turns to stair going up. I imagine that's just me, though. Also Twin Peaks has infected my brain for that phrase, too.
Audio listener here! Had to come check out the video version to see the Halloween costumes! Props to Haley for making that Soldier 76 gun! Also seeing Sarah's reminded me that she once said if Leon told her to jump from a second story window, she would do it haha!
40:00 I think Jacob might be thinking of Call of Duty and cloud gaming. There was something about Ubisoft getting exclusive global rights to Act/Bliz games to streaming. There's conflicting stuff on why that hasn't happened yet, I found something on the Xcloud subreddit saying February 2025 might be the start date?
Sorry for indirectly causing Ben to play Nintendo music on the podcast the same day Nintendo increased their music DMCA effort 10 fold. Xenoblade X has a banger soundtrack tho.
I just finished Double Exposure, and lol, i cant agree with Janet's extreme take. While did have quibbles with some of the choices in the last episode, in general i did enjoy it. (Also, Ben is right, FF7R2 is excellent)
I’m glad you liked it! I’ll be finishing rebirth soon (hopefully) playing it again all this weekend. Maybe it ends in a more favorable spot as it is still a contender for my personal two tens. Just not top 10.
@Gameonysus have fun! BTW, we do agree about Metaphor being great! Great costume in the video :D (also 100% correct about "LiS is back" being a false premise in general)
It has been a while since I taught so give me a little grace for this following example. I think it's pretty good though. Caps for emphasis not yelling lol Within teaching there are Content Standards that make up a curriculum . So for English Lit in California one standard I found is "Use simple and compound sentences in writing and speaking." This is a goal a teacher has for their students and as you teach you check them on these standards. So let's say there's a worksheet that's focussed on this standard specifically. For a C grade on this (a simple but accurate understanding of the concept) a student might need to be able to IDENTIFY simple vs compound sentences and WRITE their own examples. That's like boom okay you can do what you are being asked. But being able to do those things doesn't show a deep understanding because it leaves a lot of space for students to fall short when writing or speaking (the second part of the standard). They technically showed they can do it but the point isn't just that you can do these things in a vacuum but integrate it in your academics and life. Like, think about your life. Are you constantly thinking about simple vs compound sentences. Probably not! But you also probably have a pretty good natural command of them. a B level of mastery would be a student being able to explain and differentiate between instances where one would use a simple sentence INSTEAD of a compound sentence. They know the WHY behind what they are doing. This shows a higher level of mastery than the students who can ONLY point to these sentences and write them. a A level of mastery would be writing their own paragraph responding to a prompt and labeling the simple vs compound sentences in their own work. When evaluating the paragraph I would be looking for a good "flow" and proper usecases as well as correct labeling. BIG DISCLAIMER is that I would do a lot more research, planning, and checking that I'm evaluating these "correctly" if i were actually teaching this standard. (you also have like departments you work with and stuff for this reason). This is just something i whipped up really quick!
Metaphor is the teen movie trope of the nerdy girl taking off her glasses to become hot. Persona fans been screaming about the quality of these games for a while, so I’m glad others are seeing that too.

Weird, Ben is the only one not wearing a costume.
On brand
Mario in his classic frog costume from Super Mario Bros. 3
Nice to see Hanson shake it up from his usual Junk Dealer cosplay
😂
Jacob is Mario
The thing about Jacob is that he's Mario
You are all so great. Thanks for doing what you do!

MJO: When Ben referred to Remedy fans as "Remedy nuts", he should have called them Remedeez Nuts.

This is my favorite show.

I’m too busy playing the entire Castlevania series.
On Lords of Shadow, almost done!
also janet looks so great as hulkenberg !
Worth noting that the lead of Infinity Nikki was one of the design leads on Breath of the Wild.

Torn because Sarah was clear about Leon’s shoulders, not Hulkenberg 🤔
haley and i are locked on The Lake House, i am absolutely OBSESSED with this universe, i ate up every last morsel of this thing.
Missed joke opportunity at 1:23:05 - Ben should have said "clothes beta", not "closed beta."
"I hope for that" Haley real as hell for that

Janet's costume is so cute. I can't handle those ears.
I love baby yoda

Janet stroking costume hair and scratching ears is brilliant. So in character.
Also, women in games media ❤ love U minnmax
Yessss, Mouthwashing! Just played it myself, sat down and ruined an evening. Incredibly solid game
Janet's description of the C grade, sound more like a B.

Do you guys know how Halloween operates?
Booo-treon

Very wide shoulders in Metaphor apparently lol
Yeah she has shoulder pads.
I'll never play Alan Wake II because of the sweet baby inc involvement but Haley should really try out Deadly Premonition sometime.
You're a sweet baby, it's a good game.
@@minnmax Aw, shucks
