Think you got it the wrong way round on the brakes. Switching from a 13mm to a 14mm master cylinder means you get less lever travel and less feel. But if you swap to a different design of master cylinder there might well be a different and better ratio between how far the lever moves and how far the master cylinder piston moves. You have switched to a radial master cylinder which likely has a VERY different ratio between lever movement and master cylinder movement. You would possibly have the same effect if you had gone to a smaller bore conventional master cylinder (don't go too far with a smaller bore master cylinder - the results are scary!)
