Strawberry Jam quilt is definitely "so darn cute!" Lots of pieces for sure, and you gave great tips for construction. The Seaglass quilt is lovely.
I enjoyed the chicken video. Reminded me of my grandparents having chickens. We were visiting (probably 60 years ago) and my grandma decided to fix one for dinner. I remember hiding under a quilt in the upstairs bedroom trying not to hear what my grandma was doing to the chicken. I wonder if I ate any supper that day... My Dad had some guinea chickens about 20 years ago that he hatched in an incubator. He raised them for their eggs. He eventually gave them all to a farmer. 😊

Lol my 5-6 siblings & I had the job of plucking the wet/hot feathers from the chickens out mom chopped the heads off. We each set on a stool in the driveway with bucket of hot water in front of us watching our mom chop their heads off under our clothesline. We all guessed how many times the chicken hopped before laying still. Whomever guessed the closest got stuck with working on that chicken. Lol

GM Pat. ❤ your enthusiasm and step outs that teach us so much! I like to starch my fabric because so many of the patterns have small pieces. I put a plastic shower curtain from the dollar store over my ironing board then hang the pieces on a rack to dry overnight. BTW I buy the powder form of starch (from Amazon) and put in spray bottles from $store then I can make it as stiff as I want. 23:03 Cheers from 🇨🇦🍁

I’m a “city-folk” but we hatched eggs in 4th grade and I got to bring one of the chicks home. So did my brother. Mine was a white leghorn rooster. Neighbors complained about him waking them up every morning at 5AM. Ha ha. That was where I learned parts of the chicken. Just so you know, that was 62 yrs ago! Yikes!

Oh my gosh, the chicken Gate 😂 sometimes those males look so much like females people don’t know till they discover fertilized eggs. It’s probably the most asked question in chicken Facebook groups. Thanks for your commitment to the follow up education ❤ I love starch too, but I really have to be in head space for the prep and clean up. I need a better habit of doing a soak and leave it overnight.

You don't want to see the teddy bear quilt I have. It belongs to my 25 year old grandson & came from his other grandmother. It is in tatters! I want to salvage as much as possible but it will have to be remade. Love today's visit to the Sloan Zone! The strawberry jam jar is so cute. Is there anyway YOU could combine the mixing bowel blocks? Maybe move the stacked bowls behind & to the side of the larger bowl 🥣 ? Have to see which bowl is in the book I have. Have a great day, Pat Sloan 🎉 I'll catch you online next time 😊😊

I would be so happy if a baby quilt I made was so well used. The memories are more important than preserving a quilt in pristine condition. If possible, maybe you could salvage enough to make a pillow or stuffed animal as a memento.
