I bought the UTG OVER BORE bipod 3 position foldable 7-11" center height with 22* panning and 44* tilting for the cost of $142.00; the purchase was just to see if I would like it. The primary material is seen to be 6061-T aluminum. Another overbore bipod from the Elite Revolution website is priced at about $600.
Just the general extra weight and forward weight displacement in steep terrain on the move, it's subjective ofc. But you can rip your clothing on to the non-lockable sharp foot teethes. Would recommend a touch and feel session before purchase. It's an absolute unit. Stellar stationary, don't get me wrong, i love it. Cheers from Sweden
None. That concern is a common misconception about rifle glads. The pupil and center of the eyebox line is above the accessory rail. Large objectives let in more total light. They don’t obscure your sight. Regards, Marky
Considering the Ragnarok and bipod. I have a Blaser LRS 2 which I use together with my R93 Offroad Pro. Lots of barrels, Henholdt scope and Aimpoint Micro. Want just one rifle for long-range and hunting. Would you sell your LRS 2 ?
I don’t sell rifles. I also have a tactical 2 so I know your LRS2 quite well. The R8 with the Ragnarok will give you more caliber options and accessory options. For example will you ever want to use NV or thermal to hunt? That would be WAY easier setup on the Ragnarok. The R8 is the future for Blaser. Over time the LRS will get harder and harder to get mags and parts for. However…we have working with people to have all of them made aftermarket. Perhaps you can find a R8 - Ragnarok to look at in person to make your decision? -Marky
@@John1911 Thanks for the answer. I was just asking for your opinion - not a trade. Love my 93 and have the barrels I need for years. It was a question about the GRS being better than the Ragnarok. Have enjoyed your channel for years. Escpecially when I many years ago bought my LRS2 in UK. Great serious job you do. Kind regards from Denmark
I know you weren’t asking to trade. 😎 If the LRS does everything you want, and you have the parts, barrels and bolts, just stick with that. The ONLY reason you would upgrade is wanting to hand NV on your LRS or wishing the latest and greatest caliber was made for it. Glad you like out content. Regards, Marky
The two biggest factors for weight, on either rifle, are barrel profile and scope weight. Put a skinny R93 barrel on your gun, cut it down as far as practical length wise, and buy a quality scope that isn’t heavy, and you are done. Buying a R8 with GRS won’t change anything from the LRS on that front. Put money into making the LRS go on a diet and achieve the same results, much cheaper. Also…just to be clear: the R8 receiver block with GRS chassis is no lighter than your LRS block and chassis. Might be a hair heavier technically. Regards, Marky
Well…1100 in monopoly money isn’t really any more than 500 US. 😜 OK, I am sorry. It’s a joke. I don’t really think that. I just am having fun. @@John1911 Ive ordered a GRS Hybrid stock for my 308. I would not mind getting the GRS bipod. But the price over the Harris puts me off. As it just does not give enough advantage over it for the price. Would have loved to get it though.
No doubt. The GRS is big money. Where it comes in handy for me is: 1. Beefy enough for the big boomer calibers. 2. Over/barrel design. 3. Easy to load. 4. Easy to take on and off in a shooting situation. But…other bipod makes off some or all of these as well. Regards, Marky
Eh… 1. It’s a bipod. 2. It is VERY expensive. 3. Not sure about the ambi-complaint. I know the Ragnarok chassis I’m sticking this on is pretty ambi. -Marky
I’m not usually interested in bipods as rule. It’s a bipod. But I am super curious about this one. It’s big, but it QD’s off. So that’s nice.

I just googled that bipod. Looks REALLY interesting. Is it well made?

@@John1911 it's very well made. I have it on a NEMO ARMS Watchmen.

A sucker to carry, a dream to lead with on a GRS Bifrost for boar hunting. Fast and reliable interaction.

very nice .

Depends on what you are trying to accomplish. The Harris wins at being fast to deploy.
