Huge congratulations to your husband on his new job 🎉 What a result on getting organised with all your arts and crafts, and wonderful that your daughter is helping with some decisions ❤ I’m wondering Emma if perhaps your television could go on the shelf above the fireplace… thus giving you more space and also giving off a nice theatre vibe when watching your favourite shows ❤🎉 You are very kind to thank us for supporting you, and I’d like to thank you for sharing and giving me inspiration to also get organised, warmest thank you Emma. Have a lovely weekend!
Congratulations to your husband. And congratulations to your success with sorting, decluttering and passing things on, especially to the children. I grew up in a teacher environment so always had lots of books, notebooks, pencils, colors etc. and because of that, I would save beautiful calendars for the pictures and any colored pencils that I didn't need or color crayons etc. I would always give to my mom or dad to give to the teachers because there are always students who can't afford some of the supplies and the teachers end up using their own salaries to pay for additional supplies to keep on hand. Things are a bit different today, but it still kills me to recycle a calendar with such lovely photos on it. I still keep colored pencils around and various types of paper for fun projects. Regarding birthday cards etc. I have a plastic box about the size of a shoe box that I keeps my cards in. No more than that. By design, the box won't let me overstuff it because the lid pops off. It forces me to sort out the ones that aren't as special, making room for those that are. You made great strides today. And kudos to your daughter to, for making some decisions of what stays and what can go.
Here in England some schools struggle with buying the basics and yes teachers buy extra things like stickers etc from their own money. Anything that could have a second life like your calendar idea is great as it saves it from landfill/recycling. The card idea is a good one. I have A LOT of cards....need to get rid of more ....a box which only takes a certain number of cards is a great idea as it will restrict me. Although the cards are all over the house!!
Wow! Bit of a red letter day all round. Congratulations to your husband on his new job and congratulations to your daughter on being able to recognise when she no longer needs to keep something and can let it go. But biggest congratulations to you - you’re really starting to sound like you are enjoying knowing what you have, knowing where it is and knowing that it is all stuff that you need or love and that someone else can benefit from all that you are sending to charity or giving away to friends. 🎉🎉🎉
Many congrats to your hubby! Lovely little intro too, nice to see you face on😊 I’m betting it’s the filter in the middle top of your Dyson,I bought a set of generic ones on Amazon, just so when I wash it I’ve one dry to put back in it. The room of ‘doom’ in my small house is definitely my craft room,I’ve donated and sold so much but still have far too much left,I have been where you’re at in the decluttering phase and all I’ll say is enjoy the journey, it’s a learning curve and for me also a lesson in patience, I now do ‘the minimal mom’ thing of a time will tell box, sometimes we’re just not ready to let things go and that’s absolutely fine, no one can say how much or how often you should let things go,it’s a personal journey, different for me now I’m in my 60’s and I don’t want my kids to have to sort out my stuff when I’ve gone, with this cough I feel like I’m on a deadline! Oh this cough is horrendous, can’t get Drs appointment, advised to just go to A&E🤦🏼♀️ Anyhow, great video, love the crafty stuff,I’ve recently taken up quilling so we’ll see how that goes😂
Try a castor oil pack for your cough. Is it dry or productive? I'm now very careful as I was in hospital for a month in 2016. It's easy to end up with A LOT of craft stuff! Thanks for commenting ☺️
I went from having a craft room,to three picnic baskets and a small trunk. My daughter and her husband and kids moved in with us. My husband had to give up his office. It took me 8 months to get through my craft supplies,I did a little at a time. I had boxes in the attic. One box every once in a while. I miss my craft room. But enjoy having my grandchildren here.
@@gettingtidy2495 it’s very productive,I did a sputum sample last week, results were back Friday but dr hadn’t looked at them so I’ve to wait until tomorrow🤦🏼♀️ I’ve been asthmatic since I was 3/4 years old, it just makes every cold a battle. I’m keeping everything crossed I can keep out of A&E🤞🏻😊 What do I do with caster oil? Is it topical? 😊
@@pam14321 does standing in the shower help you with all the steam? Get any old cloth put caster oil on it, put it across your chest, put cling film over it and then hot water bottle over the cling film this warms the oil. If you look on here there are people making them up. I don't have asthma but do get bad coughs and I always worry about my daughter. I also took a homeopathic remedy which helped me.
Just watched this latest video. Well done. I was smiling at how happy you sounded. You’ve found homes and created space. Very rewarding. Keeping that room clean should really be a quick dust and vac and cushion plump!! Enjoy your Sunday 😊😊
You are doing such a great job at letting things go. Love both your fire places and built ins and the floors that we are starting to see 🎉 you have a beautiful home. Keep decluttering and enjoy taking that space back. Loving your journey. Definitely need another clothes horse for 3 ppl laundry 😅 keep it up
Thanks for the lovely comment and feedback on my fire places. I love them too. They were put in in 1928. I really enjoy seeing more space wherever I clear and get rid of things :-)
A little two tier trolly or storage box on wheels would work great for the items behind your lamp and make access to your cupboard easier too, and I find hallways are dead space quite often, so any storage unit, even small chests of drawers etc is a great way to help, it makes a place to put any things that don't always have another place like papers or odds and ends to keep on hand
In the last two weeks I have gotten rid of ALL my crafting items than I haven't touched in 3yrs, they have gone to a Brownies group, and today all my outside plant pots have gone !! I have a balcony and this year after it being renovated I just want it simple and comfortable for the coming summer, all the pots went to a local school that is doing a school garden so they were well received, so nothing was wasted 😁💐🐀and I have a charity bag on the go as always, I can't stand clutter plus it's less to clean and keep tidy as a lot of the time I don't have the energy because of my health. 💐
Kitty where are you based again? Great you have given them to Brownies. I would keep thinking, maybe I will use them in the future!! Are you going to have any plants on your balcony this year or have it clear? I like having a charity bag on the go but I need to think where I should keep it as at the door just makes it look untidy!!
I live in Manchester not far from MUFC, I love Cacti and I bought a 6ft one (fake) last year that is going on my balcony with some others, I just live in a block of four flats that back onto the meadows, so it's nice to see the birds and Squirrels and the occasional Fox. 💐
Congratulations to your husband, that's great news. That cupboard looks so much better👍 I bet you felt so pleased, and rightly so. I sorted out the alcove under the stairs yesterday and it's such a good feeling to see it done. I was inspired to do the pantry today. Keep plugging away, one cupboard at a time and you'll get there.😊
Good job, Emma. We just can’t get rid of things if it bothers us to do so. If we regret it or feel guilty, it’s not good. We don’t want to exchange anxiety for clutter.
Congratulations to ur husband on his job use are a lovely family house work is never done my own house is like urs i put everything in cupboards u orderd a big skip me and my youngest son adam were starting on bk garden is the size of 5 a side foot ball pitch and then we will start cleaning out each room in the house for the summer have great week end u and ur family love barbara ❤
Would a really tall pigeon hole type cabinet unit around as wide as your clothes dryer, be good to put in your dinning room where you've been drying clothes, then you could put all your craft supplies as well as candles in it and free up your lounge cupboard(s) which in turn would free up space in your kitchen cupboards because you can use your lounge cupboards just for crockery etc you seldom use :)
It seems you use the floor in your parlor to do a lot of your sit down tasks. I do too. If i really neex to spread out to do paperwork, etc., i tend to sit on the floor. Maybe a larger rug to fit under the couches is in order.
Huge congratulations to your husband on his new job 🎉

Is that a gun in the bottom of the cabinet ?
Yes a toy from Disney Florida in 1989!!
You might need to wash the hoover filter.
My husband cleaned the filter but it is still only lasting 10 minutes, do you think it is too old?
😂 ive killed quite a lot of hoovers.
