The tree of knowledge of good and evil is exactly as it is just as the tree of life. When God created the earth he didn't hold back, he didn't hold back life neither did he hold back the knowledge of good and evil. All were placed in the garden but made sure warned Adam and eve to stay away from the tree of knowledge of good and evil because it's fruit contains self perception of what is right and wrong but also contains God's wrath. He trusted Adam and Eve to obey him and not made to wield the power of good and evil because it was destructive for them. That power belonged to God only but satan indulged in it and seek to spread it to the rest of God's creation to cause rebellion against God. Cain is not mentioned in the geneology of Adam even though he was born first. Eve was called mother of all living but Adam was not called father of all living.

In 1976, when I was 13 years old, I had a wide awake, real, in full color VISION of the Lord's Return... I want to stress, this was NOT a dream. We lived out in the country in the middle of dusty plowed fields, dirt roads and woods in south Georgia. Everything looked kind of brown and crispy, like it needed rain bad. The corn field across the road in front of the house was starting to turn brown and die. I went to my bedroom, which faced out the front side of the house and looked out onto our front yard, which had a semi-circular dirt driveway and beside the left entrance was an old dogwood tree which had to be at least a hundred years old. Highway 341 ran from east to west in front of our house, which faced north, and the cornfield I spoke of earlier was on the other side of the highway. There was a slight rise in the middle of this field and you could not see the trees on the other side, so it looked like an ocean of corn that went off into the horizon. As I lay across my bed looking out the window, contemplating what I saw before me, I began to hear music in the distance. I specifically heard it in my right ear and the direction from which it came made me think of the high school band which practiced several miles southeast from where I lived. When conditions were right we could hear the band playing, but usually only heard the faint beat of drums. This sounded like trumpets and as I was thinking this to myself, I began to notice the music getting louder and louder, coming closer and closer, very quickly. Within a few seconds the sound wasn't just something that was exterior, but it was inside my head as well, reverberating throughout my entire body. It was so loud and it sounded like lightning crashed directly over my head and, in that split second, the trumpet sound thundered throughout my body and throughout the entire world...everything went dark and my bed and the earth shook violently. In a flash, I was no longer lying on my bed, but I was standing outside my bedroom window in the front yard and I beheld the scene in front of me with tremendous awe. It was still my front yard, only now everything was different. It seemed as if my entire range of vision was a huge 3D movie screen and I was in the middle of it. The trumpets continued to sound and I saw that the blue, sunny sky had turned black and the clouds churned and the wind blew with a violence that I had never experienced. The corn field was now a sea of wheat that was golden brown and ripe for harvest and I could see every stalk of wheat individually, billions of them. And I watched as the wind thrashed the wheat until it was beaten down by the storm. I now know that the Bible speaks several times about, in the end time, when the wheat is ripe for harvest, how the wheat will be separated from the tares. The tares are gathered and bundled together for burning and the wheat is gathered into the barn. Then I noticed the dogwood tree. It was mid-July, so of course I know there should not have been any blossoms on it, they usually bloom around Easter...but the tree was in full bloom. I had never seen anything like this. You couldn't see any leaves on the tree because of the millions of dogwood blossoms. It looked as if it were lit from within, by a glowing whitest of white, neon light and it glowed gloriously against the darkened sky. Now, I know the Bible says no man knows the day nor hour that Jesus will return, but if we watch for the signs, we can know the season. I have always felt that He might come back in the spring when the dogwood tree is in bloom. Of all the things that could have been highlighted in a vision; why the dogwood tree? I believe there is a specific message here. (Update: recently, I prayed about this and I feel the Lord placed into my spirit that this represents the fullness of the gentiles coming in). Just as I was taking all of this in, lightning filled the sky and the trumpets thundered over head again and in an instant there appeared two angels. They were dressed in white robes, facing each other up in the air and blowing golden trumpets. They were huge and filled the sky in front of me and I knew that the entire world must be seeing this as well. When I say huge, I mean like the size of the highest mountains, literally. I didn't think the trumpets could get any louder, but they grew louder still, building to a great crescendo and I heard a great shout that was louder than anything that you could imagine. And with that shout, it's as if the earth fell silent, the black, violent clouds began to roll back onto themselves from the center of the northeastern sky and I saw light in the distance. It was more a combination of light and clearing of the clouds in the distance that got my attention. As I looked up at this shaft of light and clearing sky, I saw what seemed to be fluttering and movement in the distance. As it came into view, I saw Jesus on a white horse and behind him were millions of angels and saints on white horses. It was at this moment, when I realized what I was seeing, that it disappeared and I was back in my room lying on my bed. Everything was back to normal and I was again looking out at a bright, sunny day.
This accounts for our dualistic nature. We have the propensity for both righteous acts and wicked evil. Because we literally have the blood of both Adam and Satan running through us. It’s a spiritual battle from the moment we are born.

Shepherd's Chapel made me aware of the Serpent Seed doctrine when I had come back to Maine in 2002. I cannot stress enough that upon first hearing about it, I thought Pastor Murray had some marbles loose. I mean, if there was ever some doctrine that was complete nonsense, I would have been hard-pressed to find one more so. But if they're telling you that those in the Garden of Eden were spirit beings and not physical beings, then that would be contrary to what Genesis tells us. Genesis clearly tells us that Adam was formed from the dust of the ground. It also tells us that God made Eve from Adam's rib. And when they sinned and fell from grace they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves because they became aware of their nakedness. God also told Adam that he would eventually return to the ground because he was made from it. So, where is the non-physical aspect in all of that?

Cain isnt even in Adams Given geneology. Cain has his own UNIQUE geneology different than Adams. Thats because cain WAS NOT Adams son and if you think differently then explain why and how it is that cains geneology is different than Adams. Its like those who died during the flood we have no record whatsoever of who they were, but we have Noah's bloodline,and we trace back to Seth. The Bible uses symbolic language. Adam and Eve had the ability to see in both realms (physical amd spiritual). What I learned, satan is the serpent. He gave them something that God forbid them to have, it was something in the garden, we know its a tree whether symbolic or literal, we cannot describe it, but its something desireable for satan said once you have it you will be like God knowing Good and Evil. God didnt want us to operate like satan, He wanted us to be innocent as babes doing good without knowing the opposite evil, because then we would have choice and temptation would enter(in other words our default setting was good). So what Eve ate was the fruit (ability, thought, taste, desire) of knowing evil and good, fruit. There are a lot of questions, but I leave it here. That fruit (ability, thought, taste, desire, touch) opened another portal in the spirit realm allowing evil spirits in amd a twisted mindset. But it certainly was not intercourse because ignorant people think that satan tricked them into intercourse, wrong! Its a logical error because Eve was his WIFE, he already took her and I think already had intercourse but they didnt have children. Some argue based on that, saying after they sinned thats when they had intercourse because Adam began having lustful thoughts(He discovered his body parts), wrong he could have intercourse with love free from lust since he was pure, just like today we can eat food when hungry but some can crave for it and eat out a spirit of gluttony thats when overeating begins and obesity follows. If Adam knew Eve was taken out of him after waking up from Gods anesthesia, if he knew what God did after waking up, he certainly knew all her body parts and the function thereof. Adam was not stupid made in Gods image and likeness he knew everything including the forbidden fruit when Eve gave it to him. God gave Adam a suitable helper, the blessing- be fruitful and multiply was given before they sinned the animals were already mating, and Adams desire for compamy (not that he was lonely) was met by God providing Eve and they were both adults. So I believe the fruit- the lies of satan and exercising of the will to make the wrong choice against Gods instruction was the forbidden fruit, satan knew if Adam sleeps with his wife that will not get them out of Eden. He needed something illegal sexual intercourse is legal in a marriage. Satan tempted them to break the instruction of God - consuming something, getting something, eating something, allowing the spirit, soul, body to feed on something that would be eye openning and wonderful for a second then everything comes crushing down for the portal of good and evil is opened and satan rushes in with all his cohorts to cease man's authority. This is my take, we know in part, I am not saying this to argue. This is just Biblical exegesis it helps in building theological knowledge. The Bible is history sweetheart, not fantasy or fiction, and if you have never read The Bible, you shouldn’t judge until you have read it. it is all true and history lines up with what is written in God’s Word. So, let me help you: There are myriad views on not only the nature of God but also His very existence. Humans have limited perception of the complexities of our immediate world and the universe as a whole. The irony is that God’s nature is not one of confusion, but of peace. First Corinthians 14:33 states, “For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.” The key to overcoming confusion is not to avoid the question altogether, but to focus on the very One whom many choose to ignore (Philippians 4:6-7). We should eagerly address the real, concrete problems facing humanity, such as poverty, illiteracy, and disease, and it is true that debates about the existence and nature of God can keep us from concentrating on those challenges. So, why should any of us care whether or not God exists? To the believer, it is the theological question above all others. To the unconvinced, it remains a philosophical issue. Theology, to the agnostic, is merely a human invention; the question of God’s existence seems pointless. The Bible’s presentation of God shows why His existence matters. God’s holy nature is revealed in contrast to human (sinful) nature, and the Bible gives mankind a standard of right and wrong. Without an arbiter, there is no final authority to weigh the values we establish for ourselves (Psalm 19:7-11). Who is to say one thing is wrong and another right? Why is it incumbent upon us to help those in need? By what authority can we object to illiteracy? If there is no God, and life on earth is simply “survival of the fittest,” then why should anyone work to feed the hungry? Upon what standard do we lay the foundation of our morality? God reveals to us His essence: “I AM WHO I AM” (see Exodus 3:3-15). This statement speaks to God’s self-existence, which is fully independent of mankind’s perceptions of Him. He encompasses everything, and He Himself is the standard of what is good. Psalm 19:1-5 paints a beautiful picture of God’s eternal nature and His revelation of that nature in His creation. The question of God’s existence is important because, on a practical level, if God does exist, there is a good chance that He wants to connect with us and that He requires the meeting of certain standards to make that happen. So, the question is central to everything. We are either created in God’s image, or we are not. Love and compassion are either part of God’s nature (and therefore to be reflected in us), or they are products of a random biological accident (and therefore unnecessary). Our existence has significance (or insignificance) depending on the existence (or nonexistence) of God. Meeting the temporal, material problems of mankind is important, but meeting the eternal, spiritual problems of mankind is even more important. The Bible says mankind has been spoiled by sin. In fact, the pressing global problems that we face today are, ultimately, the result of sin. The question of God’s existence then becomes of utmost importance, because to ignore God’s existence is to ignore the reality of sin and thus the root of the world’s problems. Fortunately, God has provided a way to forgive sin and restore our fellowship with Him through faith in Jesus Christ (John 3:16, Romans 3:21-26). Sinful man is spiritually dead and often rejects any notion of the one true God. John 3:19 states, “This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.” It is God who brings us to faith in His Son through the Holy Spirit (John 6:41-51). Salvation is a gift God offers to all mankind (John 3:16). Our role is simply to believe what God says and yield to His Spirit. The validity of this message, of course, is contingent upon God’s existence! Why do people attempt to persuade others to agree with their view of God’s existence? Why can’t Christians keep their faith within the confines of their homes and churches, as they are often told to do? The motivation for many Christians is that they want everyone to have the opportunity to fellowship with God. Also, Christianity is inherently evangelistic. One of Jesus’ mandates is to spread the gospel and make disciples. This outreach is done out of love, and it is an endemic principle of the Christian faith. While no one has seen God, He manifests Himself to us in a number of ways. First, God is made known through His creation (Romans 1:20). The willing observer can look all around him, see God’s handiwork, and spend a lifetime in wonderment at the intricacies and interdependence of all physical things. Scripture states it is foolish to deny there is a God (Psalm 14:1). The universe was clearly designed, and we have been created with an ability to comprehend it at some level. Scripture is unambiguous that God has given us everything we need to acknowledge His existence (Job 38). God also reveals Himself through His Word (Psalm 19:7-11). The Bible teaches us of God’s nature, and it instructs us in morality (1 Timothy 3:16). The supreme expression of God is to be found in the Son of God, Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:15). The plain fact is that God does exist. He loves us and wants to bring us from spiritual death to life in His Son, Jesus.

Listening to a sermon like this is my understanding of eating from the tree of knowledge. What has this got to do with turning away from sin and living a holy life pleasing and acceptable to God? I mean what good is this information to me?

In the book of Genesis 20:6 when God speaks to Abimelech in a dream, He says, " I also kept you from sinning against me; therefore, I did not let you touch her" where "touch" clearly implies more than just physical contact. So yes I can see how touch can be a euphemism for laying with a woman in Hebrew in a literary or biblical context.

Hello brothers! I just want to help and point out that the Bible doesn't teach "sola scriptura" (Bible alone). Paul states this when he is writing to the Thessalonians, “So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter” (2 Thess. 2:15). We can follow certain doctrines outside of the Bible (like the idea of the "Trinity" for example), because the Holy Spirit can still inspire certain Christians. I'm Catholic by the way (I used to be nondenominational), and encourage you guys to do research on the early Christian Church, it's pretty astounding!

Read Hebrews 1 v 1-2 today there are no prophets as God speaks to us through his Son. Adam called his wife ‘Eve’ which means the ‘mother of the living’, but Satan represents death. And Eve was never in the ‘first’ garden of Eden. The tree of knowledge of good and evil is exactly as it is just as the tree of life. When God created the earth he didn't hold back, he didn't hold back life neither did he hold back the knowledge of good and evil. In 1976, when I was 13 years old, I had a wide awake, real, in full color VISION of the Lord's Return... I want to stress, this was NOT a dream.
We lived out in the country in the middle of dusty plowed fields, dirt roads and woods in south Georgia. Everything looked kind of brown and crispy, like it needed rain bad. The corn field across the road in front of the house was starting to turn brown and die.
I went to my bedroom, which faced out the front side of the house and looked out onto our front yard, which had a semi-circular dirt driveway and beside the left entrance was an old dogwood tree which had to be at least a hundred years old. Highway 341 ran from east to west in front of our house, which faced north, and the cornfield I spoke of earlier was on the other side of the highway. There was a slight rise in the middle of this field and you could not see the trees on the other side, so it looked like an ocean of corn that went off into the horizon.
As I lay across my bed looking out the window, contemplating what I saw before me, I began to hear music in the distance. I specifically heard it in my right ear and the direction from which it came made me think of the high school band which practiced several miles southeast from where I lived. When conditions were right we could hear the band playing, but usually only heard the faint beat of drums. This sounded like trumpets and as I was thinking this to myself, I began to notice the music getting louder and louder, coming closer and closer, very quickly.
Within a few seconds the sound wasn't just something that was exterior, but it was inside my head as well, reverberating throughout my entire body. It was so loud and it sounded like lightning crashed directly over my head and, in that split second, the trumpet sound thundered throughout my body and throughout the entire world...everything went dark and my bed and the earth shook violently.
In a flash, I was no longer lying on my bed, but I was standing outside my bedroom window in the front yard and I beheld the scene in front of me with tremendous awe. It was still my front yard, only now everything was different. It seemed as if my entire range of vision was a huge 3D movie screen and I was in the middle of it.
The trumpets continued to sound and I saw that the blue, sunny sky had turned black and the clouds churned and the wind blew with a violence that I had never experienced. The corn field was now a sea of wheat that was golden brown and ripe for harvest and I could see every stalk of wheat individually, billions of them. And I watched as the wind thrashed the wheat until it was beaten down by the storm. I now know that the Bible speaks several times about, in the end time, when the wheat is ripe for harvest, how the wheat will be separated from the tares. The tares are gathered and bundled together for burning and the wheat is gathered into the barn.
Then I noticed the dogwood tree. It was mid-July, so of course I know there should not have been any blossoms on it, they usually bloom around Easter...but the tree was in full bloom. I had never seen anything like this. You couldn't see any leaves on the tree because of the millions of dogwood blossoms. It looked as if it were lit from within, by a glowing whitest of white, neon light and it glowed gloriously against the darkened sky. Now, I know the Bible says no man knows the day nor hour that Jesus will return, but if we watch for the signs, we can know the season. I have always felt that He might come back in the spring when the dogwood tree is in bloom. Of all the things that could have been highlighted in a vision; why the dogwood tree? I believe there is a specific message here. (Update: recently, I prayed about this and I feel the Lord placed into my spirit that this represents the fullness of the gentiles coming in).
Just as I was taking all of this in, lightning filled the sky and the trumpets thundered over head again and in an instant there appeared two angels. They were dressed in white robes, facing each other up in the air and blowing golden trumpets. They were huge and filled the sky in front of me and I knew that the entire world must be seeing this as well. When I say huge, I mean like the size of the highest mountains, literally.
I didn't think the trumpets could get any louder, but they grew louder still, building to a great crescendo and I heard a great shout that was louder than anything that you could imagine. And with that shout, it's as if the earth fell silent, the black, violent clouds began to roll back onto themselves from the center of the northeastern sky and I saw light in the distance. It was more a combination of light and clearing of the clouds in the distance that got my attention. As I looked up at this shaft of light and clearing sky, I saw what seemed to be fluttering and movement in the distance. As it came into view, I saw Jesus on a white horse and behind him were millions of angels and saints on white horses. It was at this moment, when I realized what I was seeing, that it disappeared and I was back in my room lying on my bed. Everything was back to normal and I was again looking out at a bright, sunny day.

But if they're telling you that those in the Garden of Eden were spirit beings and not physical beings, then that would be contrary to what Genesis tells us. Genesis clearly tells us that Adam was formed from the dust of the ground. It also tells us that God made Eve from Adam's rib. And when they sinned and fell from grace they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves because they became aware of their nakedness. God also told Adam that he would eventually return to the ground because he was made from it. So, where is the non-physical aspect in all of that?

Adam was not stupid made in Gods image and likeness he knew everything including the forbidden fruit when Eve gave it to him. God gave Adam a suitable helper, the blessing- be fruitful and multiply was given before they sinned the animals were already mating, and Adams desire for compamy (not that he was lonely) was met by God providing Eve and they were both adults. So I believe the fruit- the lies of satan and exercising of the will to make the wrong choice against Gods instruction was the forbidden fruit, satan knew if Adam sleeps with his wife that will not get them out of Eden. He needed something illegal sexual intercourse is legal in a marriage. Satan tempted them to break the instruction of God - consuming something, getting something, eating something, allowing the spirit, soul, body to feed on something that would be eye openning and wonderful for a second then everything comes crushing down for the portal of good and evil is opened and satan rushes in with all his cohorts to cease man's authority. Why do people attempt to persuade others to agree with their view of God’s existence? I do not know when this video was made, but Arnold was senior pastor at Shepherd's Chapel unil he went to be with the Lord in 2014. Shepherd's Chapel is still ministering the Word today but Pastor Dennis Murray (Arnold's son) is pastor now.

In the book of Genesis 20:6 when God speaks to Abimelech in a dream, He says, " I also kept you from sinning against me; therefore, I did not let you touch her" where "touch" clearly implies more than just physical contact. So yes I can see how touch can be a euphemism for laying with a woman in Hebrew in a literary or biblical context.
No matter how much you claim it to be, you will never know what happened.

Please don't be deceived. Murray demonstrated the signs of a false prophet. He maintained attitudes that were disturbingly un-Christlike. Murray’s habit of branding everyone who disagrees with him as a tool of the devil was a telling sign of his theology. Rather than instruct or correct with love and compassion (Galatians 5:22-26), Murray responded with anger, aggressiveness, and secrecy, and he inspired the same contempt and anger in many of his followers.
Murray’s teaching takes verses out of context, which makes it easy to twist their meaning. He talked about original Greek and Hebrew word meanings, but only when he could pick an alternate translation that seemed to support his opinion. When others questioned his conclusions, Murray attacked the questioner rather than defend his view. Murray came to the Bible with his own pre-conceived opinions and then twisted the Word of God to make it fit.
For example, Murray claimed that Cain was actually the son of Eve and Satan-the serpent seed doctrine. He ignored Genesis 4:1 which says, “Adam made love to his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, ‘With the help of the Lord I have brought forth a man’” (Genesis 4:1). Adam was Cain’s father, and there is no reason to believe otherwise. Murray also connected the parable of the good and bad seed in Matthew 13 with God’s curse of the serpent in Genesis 3 despite nothing in the context to connect the two passages.

Hello brothers! I just want to help and point out that the Bible doesn't teach "sola scriptura" (Bible alone). Paul states this when he is writing to the Thessalonians, “So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter” (2 Thess. 2:15). We can follow certain doctrines outside of the Bible (like the idea of the "Trinity" for example), because the Holy Spirit can still inspire certain Christians. I'm Catholic by the way (I used to be nondenominational), and encourage you guys to do research on the early Christian Church, it's pretty astounding!

Adam called his wife ‘Eve’ which means the ‘mother of the living’, but Satan represents death. And Eve was never in the ‘first’ garden of Eden. The name Even was given to Adam’s wife after ‘Sin’ entered the world which everywhere became a totally different place after Adam disobeyed God eating the fruit. They were not the same people after Adam ate, they were now subjected to all kinds of death in contrast to before their disobedience. There was no death ‘as we know it’ before their fall.
