One of my boys used to know a rapper from my neighborhood going by the name, "Bugz". Karnail Pitts was his real name and he was shot on Belle Isle back in 99' because of a water gun at just 21. A tragic story, and a promising career cut short. D12 tries to keep him alive even if they split up. Another one of my close friends was DeShaun Holton, better known as "Proof". He was a real one, and from the neighborhood of Karn and myself. He was also killed young at just 32 in 06', and 11 days after he died, my son was born. I believe that PAC would've added more rappers 2 the LAWZ had he not been killed!!
Great video, but you left out the fact that Big L and Cam were rap partners in Children Of The Corn and Cam appeared on L's first album. So when Dame said L would've been a Diplomat, it doesn't sound like a serious reach. Overall, good work. Keep bangin'!!
I'm not being hyperbolic when I say that Big L could have legitimately had a shot at the throne. L made him sound like a damn mumble rapper 😂😂😂😂. “Biggity bam biggity bam bam biggity bam.” Meanwhile. “I’m so far ahead of my time my parents haven’t met yet!”
@@lethalassassin1754 That's a damn shame 🤣😭🤣😭🤣😭
Big L, Big Pun, Kool G Rap, Nas, Rakim, KRS One, Eminem, DMX, Scarface, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon The Chef, Gza, Rza, Method Man, Redman, Twista, Common, Mos Def, Talib Kwali, And Jadakiss all on the same tracks together imagine that
Nah. That would actually not make any sense. Some of you fans are just extra 😐🫤
Maybe an album but a damn song ?
You CC. Hey bro what about an in depth look at his Lifestylez over da poor and Dangerous. That record is dope af.
Happy Birthday Lil Bro. Keep going and stay blessed!
I still think to this day there should be multiple documentaries on L. Maybe even a box office movie. For years I’ve put him above pac and big because of his lyrics and flow. Dude was an assassin
Easily could’ve been the goat of the 2000s he would’ve ran New York after biggie passing instead of Jay z 💯
Lmfao no
Jay was already blowing up when he died though.
he woulda been 50 Cent and DMX stardom level imo, Jigga was already blowing
@@jimmyog 💯 Vol.2 was certified 4x plat the week after L was killed.
@@jimmyog 🤣🤣🤣 no
RIP to the realest 🕊️
Never forgotten
One of my boys used to know a rapper from my neighborhood going by the name, "Bugz". Karnail Pitts was his real name and he was shot on Belle Isle back in 99' because of a water gun at just 21. A tragic story, and a promising career cut short. D12 tries to keep him alive even if they split up. Another one of my close friends was DeShaun Holton, better known as "Proof". He was a real one, and from the neighborhood of Karn and myself. He was also killed young at just 32 in 06', and 11 days after he died, my son was born. I used to speak to Marshall, you all know who that is, and he was doing drugs back then. I haven't spoken to him since HJ graduated college.
Kon Artist used to chill on Sheffield off 8 Mile & Livernois. When we were younger, we used to catch Bugz & Bizarre @ Strictly's on W. 7 Mile
Bugz was a legit threat on the mic.
What was he (Bugz) like? Any insight on that would be nice since there isn't a whole lotta info about him on the internet. Not as the rapper tho.
Em didn't go college so stop capping
@@toxicrenagade971 where did he say eminem went to college? literacy is a valuable commodity
I was the other guy who was suppose to sign with L and Gruff we all went to west side High together. #BIGLRIP # Childrenofthecorn
What up Bless, good to see your comment, I remember you from children of the corn, we need a documentary on all of y'all from the children of the corn on how all of yall became the group up to now on every member of the group
Wait, are you Buddha Bless?
No fucking way!?!? Buddah Bless up in this bitch!! So much respect for everything you guys did. Much love from Australia brother!! Peace!!
mad respect for u brotha...much love from india 🔥
Whoa that's crazy
Once again an excellent video. Big L is one of my favorite rappers. I loved your what if scenarios, so yes this kind of content is great. 👌🏾
Well done video/mini doc! 😊🙏🏾 Big L was one of the *ILLEST* MCs to ever do it. It's crazy to even imagine the fact that he would of *EVOLVED* even more over time! 😮 Dude would of been absolutely unstoppable. His legacy lives on.. #LongLiveBigL
“Every minute, my style switches up
They said a real man won't hit a girl
Well, I ain't real, 'cause I beat bitches up” -Danger zone
That was wild for 95

98’ freestyle was 🔥
My favorite of all time. He would have been the goat
Pure speculation
@@deman19901 shut ur mouth lmao
@@deman19901 no it’s fax
@@jimmyog Stay off the drugs. I'm a Pac fan,but you Stans are delusional. It's only speculation. Those are the facts.
@@deman19901 big L is by far a better lyricist than pac
BEEN waitin on this one!!!!! FIRE upload bro!!!!!
Big L was saying crazy shit in his Rhymes way before Eminem came along with slim shady persona. Why he didn't blow to the heights he most definitely should have has always bothered me. The man was a lyrical genius and Lifestylez ov da poor & dangerous is one of the greatest albums I've ever heard. Put it on, Devils Son and the title track are just a taste of what he could do and are 3 of my favourite tracks from that record. His duet with Pac is epic also. R.I.P BIG L
So angry that he didn't get the shine he deserved!!! Harlem World
My favorite song by Big L is The Heist.
my greatest inspiration, s/o 2 my brother kobey , showed me big l in 8th/9th grade, been fw him since.
Da graveyard gotta be one of my favorite big l songs
20:11 If Big L did get involved in Jay-Z's & Nas's beef like the rest of the Roc-A-Fella artists did, then it would have been serious trouble for Nas as Nas said himself he was scared of having to compete with Big L. In an interview with Funkmaster Flex in 2006, Funkmaster Flex talks about the first time Lord Finesse brought out Big L at the Apollo and Big L rapped. Nas said "He scared me to death, yo when I heard that on tape, I was scared. To. Death. I said yo, it's no way..It's no way I can compete if this is what I gotta compete with!, I said it's no way"
Out of all Jay-Z's beefs, Nas's is the only one where everybody on Roc-A-Fella was involved. As Jay-Z had beef with Prodigy, Fat Joe & Big Pun, 50 Cent, Jayo Felony, DMX, Jadakiss & Jaz-O but the beef with Nas is the only time were all of Roc-A-Fella got into it, except for Amil of course lool
Big L was Cam dude...No way he was Riding with cockafella over his Harlem niggas
Nah Big L had big respect for Nas and he samples him many times, they were starting together on Columbia, no way they would diss each other
@@krzysztof4607 I said if Big L did get involved it would have been a serious trouble for Nas. No one will ever know anything for sure, like if fallouts between those that died and others they were good with wouldn't have happened if they stayed alive. Not saying it would have happened but Nas was cool and friends with Cormega, Nature, Prodigy, N.O.R.E., 50 Cent & Lake and ended up beefing with all of them. So anything could have happened
Nas was a problem that's why basically he made memphis bleek get at him subliminal because jay knows he would lost right away
@@krzysztof4607 im sayin lol ^ Big L had so much respect for Nas he sampled him many times maybe we could’ve gotten a collab between em if he were here
Imagine if Big L was part of dipset 💥
Or the lox 🔥
I always appreciate these vids man keep it up :D
I think Big L wouldve released The Big Picture on Flamboyant Ent.
The album, if not remixed and finished like L planned, he wouldve reached Gold or even platinum.
Also, DITC was releasing their debut as a group.
The album didnt have no push, not even a video to promote the album.
I bet if L wouldve lived he wouldve dropped crazy freestyles with Big Tiger on Rap City the Basement
good theory plus I think Dame woulda pushed L hard and L would be clear to run wild
Big L woulda been Pac times 10, nice video. I watched the St. Ives video too, and now I must subscribe keep up the good work bud.
1:59 I'm watching from my hood Råby in Västerås, Sweden
He was the best rapper when it comes too lyricist and punchlines NO CAP. Wish he could’ve got the time to truly shine super sad 😕. It’s one of those big WHAT IFS for sure.
Street Struck is my favorite song of his
Do one on if big pun didn’t die and lost all his weight
Man imagine if Big L, Big Pun and Biggie didnt die. 3 BIG rappers of NYC on same track 🔥🔥🔥 love n respect from uk, manchester
I think you should do what if ODB didn’t die ??
Big L was way before his time. The man was/ is a giant with a smooth sophisticated flow.. PUT IT ON..is still my joint. I am a HIP HOP HEAD, can’t stand the what ifss, cause it hurts that our music is the way it is with so many watered down clown ass actors. We lost a lot of soldiers…PAC,PUN, BIG, SO MANY
Signing with the roc may or may not had enhanced big L career...despite being a dope and extraordinary MC not sure if big L had that star potential that DMX, jayz, ja rule and big pun had in 99...still would of been fun to hear new music from him thru early millennium thou!!!
I met him at grants tomb shook hands with the brother really cool I was afraid to approach him but I said eff it , I'm a fan
I wouldn't ever forget , of All rappers met one of the Real Ones Big l , and the block I'd visit herb mcgruff block , but the heads who went out there always bump into them and they would tell the story , but when I go on my own didn't see nobody , I didn't have that energy
FEBRUARY 15 2023 ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY FEBRUARY 15 1999
24 YEARS AGO THE HIP HOP WORLD LOST A VOICE Big L
THE FACT IT WAS 24 YEARS LATER AND IT STILL HURTS
Big L DID NOT DESERVED TO DIE THAT WAY
MAY 30 1974-FEBRUARY 15 1999 REST IN PEACE Big L
AND Big L WILL ALWAYS BE A LEGEND
Yo I didn't know big l filmed dmx and jays battle that's a legendary day I wish I could've witnessed myself
Big L is in the top 3 for many people including myself but I think if he were still alive he would be top 3 for most hip hop heads.Ebonics is still relevant... My top 3 is Nas, Big L and Rakim..But my fav is Prodigy.
Nas, Big L and Rakim 🔥🐐
If he had only lasted a couple more years.. Him on dipset would have been phenomenal
Imagine Kanye producing for Big L
Man there’s no telling what would of happened if L survived
Exactly. He could have been great, or he killed have fell off. He might have just ended up being another Papoose. You have all of these idiots making predictions like his path would have been linear.
Run DMC had a album in 1983 called Run-DMC
I got a video idea l, since next month is anniversary of these albums. What about a story of either the Marshall mathers or the Eminem show. Appreciate your hard work been following since the roc a fella doc
I remember hearing L for the first time, it was da graveyard, I fell in love with his style immediately. Me and my friend pretended we made some of his bars up once and had people going mad 🤣
Sure someone else has mentioned this, but Fugees album, The Score with Fugee-La came out in 96. I believe you may have been referencing their 1st album.
Do a vid of rappers with one album in there lifetime
Heads up pac knew big L even to a point he studying his rap style
All I have to say is if Big L lived, he would still be as relevant as Nas is and would be putting out great music to critical acclaim.
Exactly
Big L was a true contender has to be one of the greatest to bless the mic it would have been nice to see where his career could have gone
Now we;re talking! RIP to the GOATTTTTTT
Do big Pun next
Big L, would of been a major star
BIG L WAS ONE OF THE GREAT HUMAN BEINGS TO BLESS US WITH GREATNESS 👊
I’m surprised no one brought up Jadakiss, Styles P, and then Big L
Yooo!! I'm Moe from The Bay Area and if "BIG L" hadn't died, he would've been a real threat in NEW YORK. He was lyrically gifted and was a beast on the mic. If PAC & B.I.G. hadn't died, the rap game would've been totally different and PAC & B.I.G. would've squashed the beef as well and he would've joined THA OUTLAWZ as well. I believe that PAC would've added more rappers 2 the LAWZ had he not been killed!!
Wordplay and lyricism was his ammo...Ebonics true master!
Big L literally had the biggest penith in NyC they say his death was hip hops biggest conspiracy. RIP a Legend BiG L
Big L is definitely Hip Hop's Len Blas
Great video, but you left out the fact that Big L and Cam were rap partners in Children Of The Corn and Cam appeared on L's first album. So when Dame said L would've been a Diplomat, it doesn't sound like a serious reach.
Overall, good work. Keep bangin'!!
Happy Birthday 🎉🎉🎉
I'm not being hyperbolic when I say that Big L could have legitimately had a shot at the throne. A phenomenal storyteller, a better punchline artist than Jada or Fab, a master of multiple flows, swagger that - in my opinion - has never been matched and the "it factor" ... I'm a Hov fan and this guy would have greatly affected his rise and likely the entire dynamic of Rocafella.
Would've loved to see how L's presence could've effected the State Property, Murda Inc and G-Unit era
If Big L was alive he would of Still Doing Music Hip hop cause he is the best and greatest rapper and legendary of all times I wish All legends was still Alive and Not gone it's really hard and sad.
What if The D.O.C didn’t loose his voice?
def one of the greatest up there
Big pun pleaseee
Jay Z wanted to sign him to Roc-A-Fella
I feel if L didn’t die he would’ve stayed underground, imagine if we had a DOOM big L collab or Big L DMX shiiiii
Street struck is my favourite song but every song is so good just to listen to his talent he should be in the goat situation more
He would have been the greatest of all time.
In truth there are too many top tier Big L verses. One of the greatest regardless.
