I couldn't help but notice that some of the very best players in the NRL, play in the Tongan side. Just goes to show how much the NRL rely on all the islander nations to inject that level of talent in the NRL. The NRL has produced the environment so that these guys can perform at their best. Look out in the near future. Australia will be beaten more often in the future by the islander talent they are helping to create. Great for the game of Rugby League. Now the New Zealand talent need to step up a bit and the game will just explode out of sight.

The best result for Rugby League... For too long the established powerhouses of rugby league have had all the glory... Tonga has shown that despite the lack of funding and resources the small guys can make a difference... Now the next goal is to create a system where financially these smaller nations can hold onto their players...

Make the best Tongan 15 you can from the worlds players and they still fall short. League plays to their physical strengths much better than union does.
