It's just sheer comedy genius, no other way to put it. If I'd even been able to come up with something as funny and crazy as the cigar/sausage joke, never in a million years would I have thought to have the sausage packet also change to a nice cigar box, with little labels on the saucigars even. It's just icing on the cake and it kills me every time. And the little offhand "something to do with the lenses or something" at the end... solid gold
"Has anyone got any sausages?" "Yeah, I have some." I love how he's randomly carrying a pack of sausages and they're conveniently needed for this example haha
He could be tho, its London, so Wongs character could've done abit of shopping at a Spar before he attended the masterclass, sausages to have for his tea when he get back to his tiny bedsit
It's a great parody of those original "Michael Caine acting on screen" programs that were made in the 1980s. Good touches as well - with the black leather jacket(which Caine actually wore in those programs) and also his gold Rolex watch.
Peter Serafinowicz is a genius and so underrated. Listen to his Richard Herring interviews if you can! They’re hysterical. The one where he talks about working on the phantom menaces is solid gold
Hilarious! Just watched the Michael Caine masterclass! And this came up, he has Michael off to a tee 😂 brilliant 👏👏 I was in stitches with the sausages
Funny how TV cameras don't make cigars look like sausages but movie cameras do. It's either that or Caine is holding a sausage at the start of the show and the audience are all just playing along. If that was the case then the later scene is actually much more layered than I originally pictured.
The impression of someone doing a knowing impression of someone whose impression isn't quite as good as a great impression of Michael Caine... serafinowicz is a master
This is brilliant, pitch perfect.Just my sense of humour.🤣 👍👍Peter Cerophynawiks is a real talent. Did you notice how his name looks different written than when spoken? Sometimes when his name is written down and filmed it appears on the screen as Peter sarahfinnowhickz instead of Cerophynawiks even though when spoken it’s Serafinowics. Not a lot of people know that.
Fun fact. Wong didn't actually have sausages in his bag. But, not wanting to let Michael down, he created a portal inside the bag, to the local butcher's shop and grabbed a pack out of the fridge.
its the creaking sound of his leather jacket that just elevates this 😄
Perfectly reminding you that he did it in the Eighties.
In fact, has anyone got any sausages? 😂
"WHERE HAVE YOU HIDDEN THE MONA LISA?" 🤣🤣

That Bob Hoskins impression was excellent as well
I was gonna say! It’s perfect!
Also the Benedict Wong impression was spot on.
The great Paul Putner
Oh my God. That’s the best Michael Caine impression I’ve ever seen!
Pleased to hear you're a fan Jimmy
His is very good, but I still think Craig Ferguson’s is better.
Coogan / Brydon are pretty good though: th-cam.com/video/HFIQIpC5_wY/w-d-xo.html
@@stevedoolan1540 They are far, far better, imo.
@@kaymuldoon3575 just listened to it. Absolutely terrible.
The best part is when he points at the box of cigars on the screen with a sausage in his hand. Genius 😂
Yes. My favorite moment, too.
Shoutout to Wong and his sausages
Although he wouldn't say no to a tuna melt
Dude don’t call him that please ;)
@@walterzamalis4846 his name is actually Benedict Wong irl tbf
@@walterzamalis4846 That's his last name, and the character he plays in the MCU.
Why would someone brought a box of sausages to an acting class tho
1:50 when he comes into his own shot. Brilliant.
The sausage thing will never get old for me. "I think it's something to do with lenses or something."
Squeaky leather jacket is hilarious!
I've seen the video about 15 times just because of that. So funny...
The original Cain version…..🙂👍🏻
th-cam.com/video/bZPLVDwEr7Y/w-d-xo.html
If anyone has seen the actual masterclass with Michael caine, this isn't that far off
It often comes up on my YT feed but I know I’ll have to troll the comments so I’ve stayed away!😬
I remember seeing some of it when it was broadcast in TV , just remember he taught them all to not blink, ever lol
From about '87. The noise of his leather jacket is a delightful touch. 😅
The leather jacket was named, 'Trevor'.@@TheStefmcd

Couldn’t agree more! It’s absolutely first class comedy gold, it doesn’t get any better than this. Every single line in the whole sketch is perfect.
I also loved that the student just say has some sausages in a shopping bag.
@@ApolloVIIIYouAreGoForTLI He read the script, let me explain that about movies......
Of course the Sorcerer Supreme is packing sausages to an acting class. The man’s a pro.
You're not wong!
I only just found out that Wong's first name is Benedict.
Just the moment right near the end where he points to the "cigars" on screen and you see him holding the "sausage" again has me in tears.
When 'Hoskins' starts to walk out of shot and realizes 'Caine' is there.
This masterclass is how Benedict Wong learnt to be movie star.
After this, he spent some time as a Countdown champion.
You know something is genuinely funny when you start laughing just thinking about it before watching it again.
Even the lighting is spot on for like an 80's Tv show vibe
Man I just seen the actual Michael Caine acting class for the first time and coming back to this its so much better.
Benedict Wong there with the sausages in his bag 😂
Wow. I wasn't sure if that was him or not. He looks so different there.
The fact that in the back of shot, his posture and gaze is the spit of Italian Job Caine is incredible
The squeak of the jacket makes it for me.

He just nails every impression. Criminally underrated sketch show this
The original Masterclass is legendary and Peter is clearly a huge fan.
Or not!😂
His impression of Michael Caine has only gotten better over the years as well.
Bob worked with Stuart Lee as well, still love the Apple sketch
10 out of 10 round of applause for a brilliant Bob Hoskins impression too! The best bit was when he was startled by the Michael Caine behind him! 😄
“See it looks like a sausage” is so well delivered lmao along with “where’ve you hidden the Mona Lisa”

The creaking leather jacket just kills me 😂
The sound of the leather jacket creaking fucking gets me everytime Hahahaha...
This is the best Michael Caine impersonation ever... . Hats off to this dude😂😂😂
John, can we move the watsername? ha ha don't know why that cracked me up so much
hahahaa me too.. it's the whole "cinematic masterclass" and he forgets what a camera is called.
This is inspired by a great acting masterclass I saw by the great man himself. It was fascinating!
You gotta be kidding!😂
Best impersonation of Michael Caine ever. I can’t believe that it’s the gun sommelier from John wick 2. Very robust and precise like in John wick 2.
I love how she was moved at the idea of doing a dialogue with Michael Caine one day. "Thank you.".
