Vlog #86 Strongway ATV Log Skidding Arch with Winch - Assembly and First Impressions

I currently have several logs that are too large and heavy for me to carry onto a wagon or UTV with hitch extender. I need to skid the logs to the wood processing lot on my property. To best do this with my UTV, I need something to help lift the front end of the log up for skidding (dragging) out of the food plot and to the wood lot. I tried skidding logs out with the UTV last year and it did not work well. With no lifting of the front end of the log, I was consistently getting stuck. Solution: I found the Strongway ATV Log Skidding Arch with Winch at Northern Tool and Equipment. I think it will really hit the mark and help me move these logs by myself. The logs are generally 8 to 12 feet in length and weight from 200 lbs to over 600 lbs. So lets put this together and get it ready to be put to the test!

That looks like it’ll work. Got it together before the garage space was needed (even without the directions) 😜 Amish logged the neighbors property and they used a log arch hooked to their horses. Pretty interesting to watch 👍

Thanks and yes the pressure was on to get the space cleared for my wife :-) Interesting about the Amish and makes sense as a UTV like a horse has no natural way to lift the front end of a log for skidding. Thanks for watching!!
