    I have had a sliding door problem for over 10 years, in fact I just left the rear door off the track and worked around it. After watching your video today I determined to give it one more chance. I realized I had installed, about a decade ago, two sets of rear rollers which caused both door to collide and run one or other of the doors to derail. Your caveat of which rollers go on which door made all the difference. Went down to my local hardware store, picked up a new set of rollers, had them installed in less than an hour and my WIFE is DELIGHTED!!! The doors now, for the first time in years, are fixed and rolling properly. Thanks for the tutorial!!!

    Two things most folks don't know about these doors: the tilt-to-remove and the roller-offset, the latter of which I was not aware of. You kept me from placing my fist thru my door! Thanks!

      I'm not sure about yours, but mine come off the tracks because they needed to be tightened. If the wheels adjust and they aren't tight enough, you can lift the door just enough to get one of the wheels off the track. Tightening the adjustment screws can be an option for some designs.

I didn't even notice that the hardware that attaches to the top of each door was different!,Can you confirm that the door that is furthest back is the one that used the deeper hardware?? In other words the door you would be hanging first. And the hardware that has more of a jog or angle? Thanks again. Lydia

      @homemend  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      hi lydia! im glad you saw it too! i can not confirm as i don't have any of those doors in my house.. i believe the ones that hang nearly straight down without the little z curve would hang to the back so those would be put in first, again I'm just guessing, but they can only hang one way, if you hang them wrong they will hit each other!lol thanks for watching

    Wow, you made this look simple! The epitome of efficiency and clarity in a DIY video. In other videos of this topic, the problem with the wheels was mentioned. They said that the wheels marked #1 go on the back door, the #2s on the front. You seem to be saying it doesn't matter as long as each door has a matching pair of wheels. Am I getting that right? Seems like it would make a difference which offset is used on which door to space the doors appropriately.

    • @homemend
      @homemend  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gary Duncan hi Gary. Yes both same numbered wheels go on the same door however one set in the back one set in the front. The doors will hit each other if the doors aren't put o. The correct corresponding track.

    An analytical mind should be able to do this w/out a demonstration. However, it is extremely helpful to see someone else do it and then duplicate it. A lot more here than I was looking for that will be useful information to share with others someday. As I am often asked how to do things. Thanks! :)

    What about the 7/8 plastic wheel on my Primeline N7536 (N 6649 has two 3/8" offset) with two 3/8" offset and two 1/8" offset? Using the 7/8 is too large as the original must be about 3/4 or wore down over time and the do not sell a 3/4. So change the style from 3/8 with adjusting wheel to 3/4 with fixed bracket?

    • @homemend

      Hey doriano. Matching can be difficult. Buying the whole kit is usually the way to go. New track and new rollers.

    Can you install these doors before installing baseboard? I've heard it should be the other way around and install the baseboards first then notch out the closet doors, but I don't think I could do that as easily as I could place a piece of bb on either side of the doors. thoughts ?
