The last one I bought was Madden 22 and they didn't change much and it's kinda buggy I won't be buying Madden 25 didn't but 23 or 24 but I played them and it's the same shit and the commentators are the worst ESPN 2k was one of the best hands down.

If ultimate team did not exist, madden would be better because the developers didn’t have to develop p2w mechanics, therefore being able to keep more of the removed features, therefore, leading to better reskins, since it would be as good as the ps2/original Xbox days, I guess friendly competition would help, but I don’t think competition would be that good when every sports game has some ultimate team in some shape or form

I just think at the moment, madden could be better if it didn’t have ultimate team, and competition is a step in the right direction (in quality, not ending micro-transactions), plus, those games have really good single player modes, unlike madden, it feels like with those games, even with how bad they are, compared to madden, it seems like the developers care about giving you a good product (even though it’s just to make money)

This is and has been the real problem. I have scratched my head for years thinking of a solution. Business wise, it makes sense to put out a half assed game year in and year out, profit purposes. The only solution I can think of, is someone needs to go all out making an incredible football game that will take years to do right, but they need to make it high quality and with a simple way to edit teams, cities, and players. They won't be able to get NFL licensing rights, so some individual will have to take a huge gamble and bet that the people will pay willingingly for something they don't have to, out of appreciation. If everyone pays $5 as a tip, they can get an NFL game with player names that can be downloaded by bypassing the licensing rights, and now we can have a legit football game with actual team names and rosters.
The problem is this shi* is a monopoly and EA along with the NFL have been allowed to conduct business like this. No competition will continually yield a mediocre product. U don't have to do much when there is no one to go up against
A boycott is never gonna work. I been gone from Madden for almost 10 years and nothing has changed with getting the game out of there had. I am sure it's because of the check they cut to the NFL. It's probably the biggest one the NFL can get for the right to the game. That is the nuts and bolts of it.
Boycott isn’t the right word, but the NFL hates bad press and anything that put them in a bad light. The more people who get turned off by EA and Madden the more the NFL won’t want to work with them, even if they are cutting a huge check to them.

Man I used to play every Madden every year since the early mid 90's, up to about 10 years ago when I had enough. The game stagnated, a new release every year with no justification for the pricetag, no new features, just a new updated roster and more bugs, year in and year out.
Sad part is mostly 99.9% complaining actually got the game early. Its all bullshit at the end of the day from EA Sports and the Content Consumer Creators in bed with them... Creators need the views so....

As a nearly 40 year old man who's been playing video games and specifically sports games for around 32 years, I have to say the current state of not only sports gaming but gaming in general is ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC!!! I don't think it's a coincidence that the "retro" gaming community has EXPLODED in the last 5 years. Which unfortunately has caused it to become (just like literally EVERYTHING over the last four years) to become COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL in terms of financially speaking. It's just like you see with diesel trucks. You're seeing the older Ford's and Dodge's selling for ASTRONOMICAL PRICES because THEY'RE BETTER THAN THE TRASH BEING SOLD/PUT OUT NOWADAYS (and it's also true in the big rig industry too because people are sick of the emissions BS they're forcing on everyone because it makes the trucks FAR MORE UNRELIABLE and honestly far more expensive to maintain and run but it makes all the tree hugging morons happy who are too stupid to realize they're NOT SAVING THE ENVIRONMENT/PLANET AT ALL). The feature that I miss the most is the ability to make formations and plays from scratch. The last Madden I know that could do this was Madden 2005 (Ray Lewis). I really wish I could play that version on my PS5 or XBox. As of now, I own 23 and 24. Every year I tell myself I'm protesting because of every single point Rob made. Madden 25 is days away from releasing and I'm not buying it as of now. The only reason I would buy Madden is my team (Miami Dolphins) is decent for the first time in years and T. Hill has just been voted #1 out of the top 100 players in the NFL. Other than that, I'm out of the market. Thank you again, Rob.

I spend probably a grand a year on ultimate team in an attempt to beat all the exploit players that only run broken plays. I held out last year until it went on sale fairly quickly for $20. I caved in and disappointed myself. Mind you I've bought every Madden for more years then I'm sure of. This year is my year. It's our year. They are hurting and I know they are based solely on the survey they sent me a month ago. I'm not doing it this year. Not even for $20.

the problem as most already know is the monopoly EA has on the NFL license. Many agree 2K Sports/ESPN NFL 2K5 was one of the best sports games ever. I believe that one was even just 20$ at release. when they destroyed the franchise mode by giving scouting 3 random options to scout on attributes, that was the beginning for me. that was madden 18. when your player had enough points to upgrade, they gave them random stats...instead of being able to put points in attributes that you wanted.

Naw the maddens on the ps2 were much better smooth gameplay player motions and the tackling were more real you felt like you had total control plus you could create your own formations and plays had very few glitches nowadays there's to much issues with madden
Funny: you talk about the wishlists. One guy named Deuce Douglass used to make them (you can still find them on TH-cam), and it ended up getting him hired. Since he joined the game has improved quite a bit.

But the kick in the kick in the teeth is...they pitched this Mico transaction bullshit with the draft. Instead of updating the ROSTERS FOR FREE like they should. I'm a Pat's fan who wanted to get Drake Maye in the game!! Did they update the Rosters to allow all teams to get the draft picks for the NFL Rosters?? Of course not. Infact.. I doubt even if you refuse to get Madden 25, when the season starts, they'll update 24 either for free like they should. It's complete BS..
@@RobElderton it’s a fun game. I’ve played some of the newer versions of Madden with friends and the gameplay has gone downhill since the earlier iterations. However, CFB 25 is significantly better. It could be due to the fact that they built it from the ground up and really paid attention to what the CFB community wanted; but whatever it is that they did it’s evident in the quality of the gameplay and Dynasty Mode. It brought me back to when EA used to care about its football games.

Man I used to play every Madden every year since the early mid 90's, up to about 10 years ago when I had enough.
The game stagnated, a new release every year with no justification for the pricetag, no new features, just a new updated roster and more bugs, year in and year out.

I played it back in madden 25(Sherman)with my main friend. I went to college and we got to connect through it. Which is the only reason I even played it. Since then I’ve steered cleared of it
As a nearly 40 year old man who's been playing video games and specifically sports games for around 32 years, I have to say the current state of not only sports gaming but gaming in general is ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC!!! I don't think it's a coincidence that the "retro" gaming community has EXPLODED in the last 5 years. Which unfortunately has caused it to become (just like literally EVERYTHING over the last four years) to become COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL in terms of financially speaking. It's just like you see with diesel trucks. You're seeing the older Ford's and Dodge's selling for ASTRONOMICAL PRICES because THEY'RE BETTER THAN THE TRASH BEING SOLD/PUT OUT NOWADAYS (and it's also true in the big rig industry too because people are sick of the emissions BS they're forcing on everyone because it makes the trucks FAR MORE UNRELIABLE and honestly far more expensive to maintain and run but it makes all the tree hugging morons happy who are too stupid to realize they're NOT SAVING THE ENVIRONMENT/PLANET AT ALL). Sorry to get sidetracked, my point is, Madden and gaming in general has been on a downward trajectory for years now and with all these people who are either too i*norant or misinformed who keep buying/supporting these ABSOLUTE TRASH GAMES/PRODUCTS, it's only going to get worse because they're NOT BEING FORCED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEMS (and that goes for FAR MORE than just the gaming industry)
The feature that I miss the most is the ability to make formations and plays from scratch. The last Madden I know that could do this was Madden 2005 (Ray Lewis). I really wish I could play that version on my PS5 or XBox.
As of now, I own 23 and 24. Every year I tell myself I'm protesting because of every single point Rob made. Madden 25 is days away from releasing and I'm not buying it as of now. The only reason I would buy Madden is my team (Miami Dolphins) is decent for the first time in years and T. Hill has just been voted #1 out of the top 100 players in the NFL. Other than that, I'm out of the market.

I have been telling people this for years, especially after seeing comments complaining about everything wrong with madden. And my input was always stop buying it. That's the only way to make EA make a better football game

Hopefully the college football game will do better than Madden this year. I used to get Madden every year and stopped forever ago but I am getting the NCAA Football 25 to play with my son.
I spend probably a grand a year on ultimate team in an attempt to beat all the exploit players that only run broken plays. I held out last year until it went on sale fairly quickly for $20. I caved in and disappointed myself. Mind you I've bought every Madden for more years then I'm sure of. This year is my year. It's our year. They are hurting and I know they are based solely on the survey they sent me a month ago. I'm not doing it this year. Not even for $20.

the problem as most already know is the monopoly EA has on the NFL license. Many agree 2K Sports/ESPN NFL 2K5 was one of the best sports games ever. I believe that one was even just 20$ at release. The annual release is another reason they suck, imo the studio should take their time and release them every, say 3 years ..and quit the dumb forward release titling, if a game comes out in 2024 then it should be titled as such, not 2025

when they destroyed the franchise mode by giving scouting 3 random options to scout on attributes, that was the beginning for me. that was madden 18. when your player had enough points to upgrade, they gave them random stats...instead of being able to put points in attributes that you wanted.

I’m sure it definitely adds to the problem, but NFL 2k added espn as a presentation partner, then madden added the hit stick, 2k then did first person mode, madden responded with truck stick… they had to make a better game every year

Naw the maddens on the ps2 were much better smooth gameplay player motions and the tackling were more real you felt like you had total control plus you could create your own formations and plays had very few glitches nowadays there's to much issues with madden

I boycotted madden a decade ago and it’s one of the best decisions I ever made. This franchise has disintegrated.
Funny: you talk about the wishlists. One guy named Deuce Douglass used to make them (you can still find them on TH-cam), and it ended up getting him hired. Since he joined the game has improved quite a bit.
Madden was awesome decades ago back in the 90s when it was fresh. Over the years it became the same game with a new roster. Ea is on a downfall. Ufc games are just as bad as well

Im never playing madden again, one time in my career on madden 22 i was playing against houston and somehow THE ENTIRE CITY GLITCHED ONTO THE FIELD and i couldnt see who to throw to. I had to restart the game. Ive been playing college football and i already love it more than madden

My first Madden was 17 and I enjoy playing Madden I don’t see nothing wrong with the game
I get that, but when madden had competition from other NFL games they were pushing the boundaries of what a football game could include. NFL2k5 is the reason Madden has the hit stick. The games made each other get better.

Genuine question from a Brit: Is College 25 worth a buy? I have Madden 24, I have zero idea how the whole college league is structured. I like what I’ve seen from the trial. I know I’m one of only a handful of Brits who like American football. If you were me, would you? And why? (Without wasting too much of anyone’s time). I’ve seen huge differences of opinion re: College 25, BUT I like what I see so far. I still play M24. Help!! Thank you 😊👍🏻

I finally did it. I decided to wait on the purchase this year for at least a month, and then start checking out reviews. So glad I did this. 100% man. I bought Madden 24 because it was like 85% off. Think it was 19.99. So I was like, fuck it, all try it for that. And of course, not much changed. But the kick in the kick in the teeth is...they pitched this Mico transaction bullshit with the draft. Instead of updating the ROSTERS FOR FREE like they should. I'm a Pat's fan who wanted to get Drake Maye in the game!! Did they update the Rosters to allow all teams to get the draft picks for the NFL Rosters?? Of course not. Infact.. I doubt even if you refuse to get Madden 25, when the season starts, they'll update 24 either for free like they should. It's complete BS..
CFB 25 is the first EA game I’ve bought in 20 years.

@@RobElderton it’s a fun game. I’ve played some of the newer versions of Madden with friends and the gameplay has gone downhill since the earlier iterations. However, CFB 25 is significantly better. It could be due to the fact that they built it from the ground up and really paid attention to what the CFB community wanted; but whatever it is that they did it’s evident in the quality of the gameplay and Dynasty Mode. It brought me back to when EA used to care about its football games.
I have been sayin for YEARS someone just needs to come out with a super cheap Football Game called "NOT MADDEN" and every year EA releases a "new one" everyone should just go buy the SAME $5 "Not Madden" game as a DIGITAL PROTEST
2k has tried a couple times to put out a football game that isn't madden, but the NFL license is so strong that people can't justify buying a knock off, even if 2K's game is better. Everyone wants to play as the Dallas Cowboys, not the Dallas Gunfighters (That was the actual team name of the Dallas franchise in All-Pro Football 2K8)

But on the subject of Madden, the game lacks depth, that's the biggest problem. I felt like 24 was the first year in a long time they had decent gameplay, but franchise mode is barren and superstar mode blows.

The games arcade mode is far more realistic and playable than the simulation mode is.
