Thanks! I've made lots of char cloth using a tin. Now I need to get out and try making it without a tin. Plenty of cattails and punk wood around. Thanks again.

Just found your channel and I love it! Great content. I just made a fire on the weekend using flint and an old file blade with some char cloth. Just wondering what other steel you can use to get a spark off the flint? Looked like you used a knife in this video. Thanks and looking forward to watching your other videos! Cheers from Victoria.

I am actually using my Silky Bigboy Outback folding saw on this one. Most folding saws are hardened carbon steel which is what you need for sparks. My knife is 1085 carbon steel same as a file so it too will throw a spark. I think I've also used pin punches, my camp shovel and an axe head. 🪓 Thanks for watching, and glad you like the channel.

The empty cigarette lighter part changes things. Nice.

Charred Vaseline impregnated gauze pad or cotton balls with Vaseline in a 35mm film canister. Man those things almost burst into flames when you pull them out lol. Great videos mate!

Do you get white punk fungus in your area brother? You can nitrate your cattail fluff. It will last for ages. Never goes off like char cloth. Nice video and camera work. 😁👊💥💥💥🔥🔥🔥🪨🪨🪨🌏🌏🌏💯💯💯🦘🦘🦘🐨🐨🐨👏👏👏
