Your ability to be vulnerable with your audience is great. I’ve been a follower of your channel for years. The only thing I’d say is that either you believe in the vision or you don’t. Maybe you losing your job was the universe pushing you towards what you said you’d do anyway. Don’t ignore that be going back to what you are comfortable with.
I used to want to be in Tech so bad. I was doing everything to get into that space for a while now. However, the layoffs, recruiters ghosting you, and some companies having a million interviews to not get the position turned me off. Tech Industry is not for me and I'm ok with that.
I appreciate your transparency. While I’m sure this is difficult, I appreciate going on this journey with you. Your Internet cousin has faith in you Suga!
You’ve got this!!! I’m sorry that you loss your first tech job, but I’m glad that you have options… you can continue to grow Millennial… you can find another job… you can go back to teaching… you can do whatever you want! It will all work out for your good and for God’s glory!
Not a millennial (🤫53). You didn’t ask me but please continue with your passion. It’s not over yet , it’s evident you are a great marketing force. Invest in your self.
Yess girly!! Do what’s best for you!! Thanks for sharing this with us. I appreciate your vulnerability. I totally believe in you and will def be praying for you! 🎉🤗🙏🏾
Sorry to hear this . I transitioned to tech last year and definitely very scary times . We had phase 1 of layoffs but more expected later in the year .
@@caroln3564 tech is the industry . Personally I’m in the legal department of a tech company . I transitioned after working for law firms for 20 years. I work for a tech company but don’t have a tech position. Seems like layoffs hit recruiting , marketing and sales the hardest .
Longtime follower here representing your Xennial parent following. We’re a thing… lol. You’ve been a blessing to me, and I’ve shared you with nieces, nephews and mentees. I identify with your anxiety, but also your faith and your transparency. And I can’t help but be super excited for this uncomfortable growth moment you’re in. I have full confidence that something great is on the other side. I can’t wait to see.🙏🏾🍿
I never applied to those debt companies. I feel it is sort of casino with no real benefit to the society. They kind of advertise their jobs a lot, but I never had urge to work for them.
7:27 only follow passion after unearned income exceeds living expenses of housing and groceries. Until then we have to follow the economy basically and just do whatever the billionaires want from us.
Thank you so much for sharing!!!! Proud of you for taking time to yourself. That’s so important. Give yourself grace to regroup. We’d always love to have you in LA! Even in NYC they have a strong production market if you love that and wanna continue in it. I’m an accountant for a large entertainment company in LA. I started taking UCLA Entertainment business classes online to get me more well versed (only been in this industry for 1.5 years). Sharing in case it’s helpful! You share so many great things with us. I hope at least one of us can do the same for you. Sending you all the love and support!
That really sucks I know the feeling, I’m afraid of losing my job and not knowing what to do. But you are in a better position prob than 99% of people. You have a degree, decade experience in teaching, your own social media platform that now makes money. Um… I would be happy that happened to me! Now you can focus on your true passion.
Hi, I just wanted to say that I have been watching you since your channel's conception and I have loved your journey and evolution. I know you will figure out the best path for you. From one former teacher to another former teacher...deep breathes and carry on.
That is what I’m so use to is comfort and consistency. But I desire so much to being creative, but teaching is so draining. I am a nyc teacher 10 years and ready to move on. But also the fear of lack of job security. Praying for you!! Thank you for your transparency!!
Ton of perspective that I can identify with it. Love your story and transparency. The job market is really tough to navigate right now, especially tech. However, I do know that you’ll kill it with your personal projects and the next company that’s smart enough to give you an offer will be lucky to have you. Cheers to your upcoming milestones!! 🥂
teaching will always be there. the school I support is desperately looking for teachers. you would have looked back on life and regretted not taking the risk.
Honestly your job title was fluff and did not require any hard skills, these fluff positions that pay really well but only require you to be in meetings all day are getting depreciated first, trust me.
Dear Millenial, your movie is truly moving. I feel proud of you that you stand this situation so well and created this content to share with others. I help people in tech get onto the right track and I would like to help you too - please drop me a message any time if you would like to chat (my email is in the channel description).

I’m sorry to hear that. I wasn’t laid off but 18k ppl were laid off and it was scary.
18k wow!

Do you feel safe and secure in the "entertainment" industry?

Why do you arrange your shoes like that ehn. It is supposed to be facing the same direction 🤦
Downsize while you can. Enjoy the reunions at the unemployment office.
You left teaching for the money in tech. Stop with the nonsense.
