As a lifelong GM diehard and proud supporter of “everything needs an LS”, I highly APPROVE of this build!!! Every part of this just fits so well with each other. The engine, the body kit, the spoiler, the color and the identity crisis of the interior just work so good together.

@@solla_ They should convert those salad shooters to deep dish 3 piece wheels. Look up “C4 Corvette deep dish salad shooters” to see them, would take a decent chunk of money and time but they look wild

This is crazy loving the progression. I think I've watched every or nearly every C4 video. Awesome to be at this stage. It's gonna look even more amazing with the wheels and it's gonna drive even crazier when the new clutch comes in and it gets more spice in the tune. Even as it is right now it is incredible what you guys have done thus far

C4 is so slept on for drift
Its funny Adam mentions a wheelie, if you look into C4 rear axle forward geometry, they have a lot of potential
C4's with as little as 500whp have been known to do wheelies on drag tires
Engine behind the front “axle”, great weight distribution, only flaw is that there’s two options to my knowledge for off the shelf coil overs. Vansteel & Exotic Muscle.

@@DR.P3RKY nah.. there's atleast 4 I can think of off the top of my head. the cheaper being Aldan American which drift hq already carries for the c5/6. but ride tech makes a set, they are a big name. Doug rippie is huge in road racing, they have a set. its nothing special to make one for it, it's just a standard 20$ shock all the way around them. now that fdf made an angle kit, totally slept on. everyone rebuilding half of the car to put a standard tranny in the front a c5/6 while a c4 has a regular lay out already with tons of room. the zf 6 speed from the 90s fit in that tranny tunnel, you fit a bus tranny in there lol. any drive train fits and they are like 4k$ for beat up ones.

@@DR.P3RKY do it up man, I'd love to see some c4 drifting. I have a soft spot for them from my youth. oddly the older tpi cars have grown on me, the less rounded look when back in the day all I wanted was an Admiral blue grand sport but was way to broke haha
As someone who has one of these Corvettes... they hook up REALLY well. You have to commit 1000% if you actually want it to break loose. I run double the HP in my C4 and it literally doesn't even chirp the tires on launch, meanwhile other cars with the power my car made stock will break the tires loose. They hook like its nobody's business.

Maybe it’s my inner American coming out, but it’s weird seeing an engine swapped Vette. With that being said, the color, the body kit, and the sound all go extremely well together. This car has a unique character man💯

I love my c4. I built an L33 with all forged internals, ported the heads myself, stage 4 texas speed boost cam, 82mm borg warner turbo, faceplated t56 with a triple disc mounted to the engine, fortune auto coilovers, hotchkiss tubular k member and front control arms, highly modified knuckles to allow almost 55° of angle, c6 zr1 wheels and brakes, and a ton of other shit. Fuckin thing made 900 wheel on pump e85 14 psi and very conservative timing. The car straight up fux. I mean FUUUUUUUX, Jack. I can dump the clutch in 4th gear when im completely stopped and the thing just knocks the tires right off. Its ridiculous. With 3.73s in the standing half mile i did 206. Flat out it does 221 and is stable as a rock. Love my c4 so much.

As the owner of a car stuck with a rb25de neo, this build has had me super interested what the engine is capable of instead of swapping for a det. Would be great if you could do a budget breakdown of what it took to get the engine to where it is!

I cant say ive seen many c4 builds done like this but this definitely tops all others for me. Exterior was executed beautifully i couldnt have designed it better it really fits the 80s daytona racing theme. The engine is a curveball forsure but was a great choice i never thought those sounds would come from a c4 but i love it. You guys killed it!

The car sounds surprisingly really good with the artec manifold and magnaflow. Might have to get an artec for my Non VVTi 1JZ
now we just need someone to honda swap a vette and then there can be a Rotary vette vs K swapped vette vs RB vette!

It’s fair to say that 255mph is still a little bit quick by modern-day supercar standards. Now, bear that in mind as you read the following quote from the Bring a Trailer auction advert for this one-off ‘Project SledgeHammer’ Callaway Twin Turbo Corvette…
“In October 1988, the car was driven round-trip from Callaway headquarters in Connecticut to the Transportation Research Centre's 7.5-mile oval track in Ohio and piloted by John Lingenfelter to a record-breaking speed of 254.76 mph.” Yes that's faster than Bugatti Veyron's top speed and over 20 years ago.
That’s getting on for a 1,500-mile round trip, with a quick stop halfway to obliterate a record for the world’s fastest road car.
More detail on the brilliantly named SledgeHammer, then. This was a 1988 C4 Corvette that was originally delivered to Callaway and built as one of its Twin Turbo examples. It was then selected for this rather special project, and was fitted with a hand-built 5.7-litre V8 with a Cosworth crankshaft, forged pistons, a dry-sump oil system and of course the all-important twin turbos. The result was a terrifying 880bhp and 772lb ft of torque being sent to the rear wheels through a Doug Nash manual gearbox (which was changed for a ZF six-speed manual in 1989) and a custom Centerforce clutch. The Paul Deutschman-designed Callaway AeroBody was also particularly eye-catching and would subsequently become an option for those ordering ‘standard’ Callaway Corvettes. You’ll notice that the SledgeHammer retained its electrically adjustable seats, digital dials, the gloriously 1980s cassette player, the air conditioning and the cruise control. This thing was absolutely mighty.
At the time, Callaway also fitted Dymag magnesium wheels with specially designed 300mph Goodyear tyres, a custom stainless-steel exhaust and a roll bar with five-point harnesses.
Two-hundred and fifty-five miles per hour.After the record run, the SledgeHammer was fitted with FX3 Selective Ride Control and electronically adjustable Bilstein shocks - something that became a C4 Corvette option in 1989.
The one-off apparently now has around 2,000 miles on the clock and has been stored in a museum for much of the past 30 years. It was refreshed by Callaway itself back in October 2018

I think you're onto something with this weird frankenstein widebody c4. Put some effort into cleaning it up and it could be a really nice looking car. Kind of reminds me of an F40. Get some side exit exhausts and a full rear diffuser and it'll look sick
