    Got my pair this week and i love them. Spent too long convincing myself to run in supershoes and putting up with sore ankles.
    These are an absolute game changer. So stable, really responsive and just good fun. I didnt need the runners knot either.
    Thanks for a great video

      Hi, I am in Brazil and going to run El Cruce (Patagonia) - all of my friends have bought the Hoka Speedgoat 5. I thought it was a bit narrow for my feet. From Nike I am able to get the Ultrafly. Do you think that is a good shoe for a 3 day 100KM (broken into 3 runs of 33KM) . Thanks for your videos. I watched this one to understand whether I should get the Zegama or the Ultrafly - I already run on aslphalt, but this is my first run in the mountains and mixed terrain. best, Leo

      @leonardoe8869 hey 👋🏼 that sounds like a fun multi day adventure! I wasn’t keen on the Nike Ultrafly.. the Zegama 2 is better in my opinion - certainly for how you intend to use them anyway… here’s my Ultrafly review to learn more about them: Nike Ultrafly Review

    Speedgoat 6 or Zegama 2 for somebody who loves Mafate Speed 4 but feeling beat up on longer distances (30k+)?

    • @trailandkale
      @trailandkale  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question! I’d personally take the SG6 on anything above 30k as it’s lighter than the Zegama 2. It’s a bit more snug too so you may want to size up a half size (watch my review for more on that). I loved the Mafate speed 4 too.

    Hi, would you recommend this shoe for a crushed linestome trail/gravel 50k? Or any other recommendations for that terrain? Thank you so much!

    • @trailandkale
      @trailandkale  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey 👋🏼 yes they would be great for that terrain. The cushioned midsole is soft and protective on hard ground and the vibram outsole offers superior traction

  • @suggg
    @suggg 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    For me, the mid sole doesnt feel that energetic .... for the amount of weight of these shoes, I think the midsole should feel more lively. I also think the upper mesh is a little too flimsy around the forefoot sidewalls. On off chamber / downhill technical it feels like my forefoot is going to slide off laterally. I lace up through top eyelet and still get a bit of heel lift. My local trails go from ranch road to longer high speed dow hill singletrack wnich sees varying degrees of maintenance. Im going to install some longer bubble laces and give the shoes another couple of outings. This is sort of a odd trail shoe. Keep up all the rad reviews!!!!!!!

    • @trailandkale
      @trailandkale  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks so much, and thanks for sharing your thoughts too! Are you using the top eyelets with a standard lace setup, or are you using racers loop? Racers loop will give a better fit for sure.

    Hey Alastair, what distance you think this excels at the best? I’m guessing 50 miler to 100k?

    • @trailandkale
      @trailandkale  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey - I think they'd be great all the way up to 100k, but this going to be dependent on the runner, and whether you mind a slightly heavier shoe. Lightweight runners may prefer the Speedgoat 6 - but really there's not all that much in it. It's very technically proficient at all distances up to 100k too - you'll have seen in the review how much fun I had running fast technical downhills in them. :)

  • @rhinansuba3391

    • @trailandkale
      @trailandkale  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The Zegama 2 will be perfect, but also the Arc’teryx Sylan and Brooks Calder 7 are both great trail shoes for heavier runners. Sylan: th-cam.com/video/b7Kyuyz4bHQ/w-d-xo.html - Caldera 7: th-cam.com/video/mYEjGNdiXEU/w-d-xo.html

    How does this compare with Merrell agility Peak 5?

    • @trailandkale
      @trailandkale  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey 👋🏼 Both have awesome traction thanks to Vibram Megagrip outsoles. Zegama 2 has better heel lock and a more responsive ride with good cushioning but it is a touch heavier. Both are super comfortable and run true to size. It's a really close call between these two! If you have specific trails you like to run, or use cases (long distance, lots of jills, short distance etc), or if you prefer firm or cushioned for example, please let me know and I'll share which i think will be best for you. -Alastair

      Hey there, thanks for all that information! Based on the shoes you currently enjoy and the running you like to do I'd recommend you give the Speedgoat 6 a try! I live in Houston and it’s hot here. Was thinking about buying these shoes for a trip to the Oregon coast tomorrow…and I need new trail runners anyways. It’s between these or the Brooks Caldera 7! I’m a bit wider on the foot size 12 and 6’ 220 lbs…bigger guy and have two repaired torn ACLs so I need a supportive shoe. I do jog/run in them but really buying them more at trail walkers / light hiking shoes that I can also wear around the city while walking. Which ones should I get between these the Brooks Caldera 7 or any others you might recommend for me? Just liked and subscribed…great video! I don’t run over a 5K and again looking for just a more supportive trail shoe and something versatile for the city and/or gym after being on trails during the day. Really love the look of the Nike Zagama 2 but worried about the breath ability you mentioned as I do live in HTX!

    • @trailandkale
      @trailandkale  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, thanks for the sub! The Caldera 7 may be a better fit for you! It's definitely more breathable and has a wider fit, and also footprint underneath which gives it nice stability. It also has plenty of cushioning in the midsole which you'll appreciate. Hope that helps! -Alastair
