I own an 09 R1 with Yoshi carbon pipes. I don't get why people go for the the side exhaust mod. It might sound a little louder and save some weight, but it just looks weird imho. Bike was designed for under seat exhausts.
@teamejvlog1391 don't worry If you really want it, it will come to you, you must never lose hope. I rode a 50cc 10 years back till today I still have just this bike. I aspire for an R6 06 07 08 2nd generation now im looking at this video I aspire to work harder and get this 09 R1. Don't lose hope brother, you got it! You are amazing
I’m almost 6’2 and I have to say you have to manhandle these bikes due to how tall they are and how heavy they are. It would be difficult but I’m sure you could do it if you put on some boots and muscle it around
It's certainly considerable. Having an undertail shifts the weight to the rear which makes it a little tougher in the corners. So I'd say use an undertail for the street and use a shorty for the track
Problem has always been with those 1st gen cross planes, 09-14 being quite heavy. 07 08, and particuarly 04,05,06 are a LOT lighter. Beutifull bikes though and can tear out of corners, like an F-16 on steroids.
2009 yzf R1 are the sexiest motorcycle alive, front side rear end. Very clean
2013-14 too
This generation R1 will always be my favourite
the beauty of old R1...
T E O old? This was the first year of that god awful exhaust. Sounds limp... wish they could bring back the Japanese sounding R1
@@suppaman12 Hell no. Go to the R6 if you want a 4 cylinder R. Crossplane plus R1 = Perfect.
AlphaSTI sounds like shit man. Straight up shit
Moreno12 that's your opinion lol go watch a CBR 600 video then, crossplane R1 is too much for you anyways.
@@suppaman12 Yeah i hate that crossplane sound so bad

So true. It literally takes away half the aesthetic of such a beauty. Under seat double exhausts complete this machine.
Looks nice but the heat gets unbearable sometimes.
@@airman4life626 pls explain… I’m about to get a 09 r1…thank you
@@cherrishcastaneda4328 the pipes are pretty much routed underneath the seat. there is a lot of heat coming from the exhaust pipes.
I saved around 15 pounds getting a side exhaust and putting the wieght lower makes the bike handle better
what a fucking beauty!
2009 still looks so sexy and modern😩
Best generation of R1
I am working hard to have this beauty,. 🙏 😢

I’m 5’8 155 lbs. would I beable to walk this?
Only one way to find out

You’ll be fine. Motocross seat heights make these look like nothing. And the fastest riders in motocross are like 5 6
Perfecta ❤
Desse cano da pra colocar na 2005? E esse suporte de placa onde encontro??
You can definitely tell it needs a new cam chain tensioner I can hear the tick
Lol its the slipper clutch 🤣
@@TheDarkKnight459 yep. Mine has an aftermarket cam tensioner and has the same tick.
Uhm, BS much ?
how much do u think the weight difference is between a dual under tail full exhaust vs a shorty full exhaust like this one?
It's certainly considerable. Having an undertail shifts the weight to the rear which makes it a little tougher in the corners. So I'd say use an undertail for the street and use a shorty for the track
Stock system vs this is 17lbs savings. My yoshi dual r-77 system is probably 6lbs heavier than this as they say its 11.5 lbs less than stock
