I’m 16 right now. Been listening since before I could properly comprehend words. This will forget be my favorite song by Hurt. J is a phenomenal singer and songwriter and my dad even had the pleasure to meet and sit down to talk with him for a few hours way back when.
To each their own, but in my opinion, HURT is one of the greatest bands of all time. They don't have to have a ton of hits on the radio. It's about the lyrics, melodies and soul that goes into their music. I have seen at least a dozen shows, acoustic & plugged in, small bars & large arenas. They put everything they have into every show. If you give them good vibes, they give them right back. J's voice is like no other. He can release so much emotion. Truly talented band.
Saw Hurt play live many a moon ago , and the standout for me was when this song was played and it turned into a fiery jam session with J ripping on the electric violin like nothin I ever heard before! Still love these guys ❤️
Still in 2021 these are my favorite band by a long way too... So good, so full of emotion and feeling, so many memories with their songs. I just wish i had got the chance to see them live...
I will always remember how I discovered Hurt. My mom went to buy some CDs for my birthday. Not knowing what exactly I would like she took the "metal favorite album" of the store. And that's how it began ... Hurt really is a group that must be discovered and I will always be thankful to my mom for that (of course not only that)
my son went to boot camp and i miss him so bad i come here to listen this song so i cant get the tears out Hurt is the only band that can express the deep pain i feel never heard such gut wrenching music the most underrated band ever but maybe its for only people who feel so deeply
Can't tell you when exactly I heard this band. It was headbangers ball on fuse and tool's sober had jus finished up along with lacuna coil heavens a lie. Then I heard rapture. It seized me and I was taken on the sad yet glorious journey rapture created. I got my hs friends into this band. I dont talk to them anymore but this music still speaks volumes to me.
Lot of memories with an awesome person attached to this song. Every time I hear it I think of them, and hope their life has gotten better, and is going well for them. But this version is by far my favorite version of this song, and might just be my favorite Hurt song. The violin sends chills down my spine every time. So serene and beautiful. Hurt speaks to my soul and no other band has ever really done that for me. Each time I hear them, I am glad that this band exists. ❤️❤️❤️
Been listening to this song all day. Literally. The replay button is on fire and I would try to put it out if it weren't for the fact that I'm still trying to click it. Words simply cannot describe the beauty of this song and the sense of inner peace I feel while listening to it.
I remember when I first saw hurt at band camp years ago, they were opening up on the main stage at the time I had no idea who they were at the time,we waited in the rain and it was hot to for an hour. and man it was was Worth it they came out and kicked ass, when they played Rupture I just had to get there album after concert.
I was there too and that was also my 1st Hurt experience (and Band Camp). I've seen them probably 10 times plus the acoustic at High Noon. Damn I miss these guys.
Every time i hear this song i feel as though its the first time Ive heard it. It takes me to a place that few things do. It haunts me and i love it at the same time. Like i live the song.
i remember when i used to sing this song for someone, then they broke my heart. HURT helped me get through it, and i can't wait for the day to come when i can finally sing it to someone again...
I'm a Hurt fan and how in the hell have I never heard this song... soooo goood.... wow. This masterpiece just blew every song I've ever heard out of the fucking water.
@woostergino It only has (now) 28 likes because the other 3,960 were in tears from it's beauty. Sadly, 4 people so far have TRIED to click dislike. I'm sad to say they burst into flames.
There is only four studio quality accoustic songs recorded by HURT, they are the following: Danse Russe, Falls Apart, Loaded and Rapture. Have a nice day.
I used to bounce at club that played that dance shit. I would take noise reducing headphones and play songs like this blocking out the background music. It was like I seen people for what the really was...just dancing like clowns. Do it one day, go to a club with headphones and play this song. The little dancing jesters will give this song the edge it needs to make it even more beautiful
Lol, yes. Let's condemn people for their taste in music. p.s., I get that you posted that a year ago, don't fret over me saying this a year later. Lol just passing a friendly joke.
I personaly dont believe in hell nor heven in that matter so what i meant was for him to have a bad time if you will... dont think of me as bad person :) but if you do i rly couldnt care less...
+MendMyWings 7 (Crimson) He is. It's supposed to be pronounced similar to "goose". However, he mentioned, in the footnotes of the Besides & Footnotes album, that the reason he pronounces it this way is because it's written from his perspective as a country boy who doesn't know much about the world.
+AJ Ashland (Elitist Cuisine) Gets confusing, because Rus (as in Kieven Rus), the old name of Russia, is pronounced like goose and the old poem Danse Russe means Russian Dance(r) so you'd think Rus + an extra "e" would make it roos-ay. If I remember right, the poem was about a dancer in the Russian Ballet so that may be why it's pronounced Roos like goose.

Been listening to this since it came out. Underrated band.
This song gives me chills. This is the epitome of beauty.

I did not think it was even possible to have a better version of danse russe. Damn you J. Loren, You are a musician for the ages.
my son went to boot camp and i miss him so bad i come here to listen this song so i cant get the tears out Hurt is the only band that can express the deep pain i feel never heard such gut wrenching music the most underrated band ever but maybe its for only people who feel so deeply
God the second verse is so good...
Can't tell you when exactly I heard this band. It was headbangers ball on fuse and tool's sober had jus finished up along with lacuna coil heavens a lie. Then I heard rapture. @Eli Haha hell yes! Wi-Five!!
Heard this song for the first time today, every time I open TH-cam I play it again!
Beautiful song by Hurt. A lot of their songs have very deep lyrics.

I love this song. The non acoustic version is amazing but this is powerful. I feel like its ten times better than the regular version.
I adore this song. Ridiculously.
I remember when I first saw hurt at band camp years ago, they were opening up on the main stage at the time I had no idea who they were at the time,we waited in the rain and it was hot to for an hour. and man it was was Worth it they came out and kicked ass, when they played Rupture I just had to get there album after concert.
I was there. Little did I know that J would become my guitar instructor about 10 years after being there and seeing them live. Life is funny that way.
I was there too and that was also my 1st Hurt experience (and Band Camp). I've seen them probably 10 times plus the acoustic at High Noon. Damn I miss these guys.
Song will always make me think of my mom, in spite of what it's about lol. This was her favorite for the longest time.
Love this song
Every time i hear this song i feel as though its the first time Ive heard it. It takes me to a place that few things do. It haunts me and i love it at the same time. Like i live the song.

We will Never forget this song. EVER

great upload thx
Word
Top notch comment, he still stands alone.
lyrics are fantastic, the reason there are so few likes , most that view the video want a video and dont really care about the music cut
play this at my funeral
The songs title an some of the lyrics are reference to a poem called The Danse Russe :)
When someone says today's music sucks, I usually point them in this direction.
Read the poem too... It's really good
The original is on Vol 1, yeah.. This particular version is from the Black Market E.P I believe, which is only sold at their shows.
If there is any justice in this world, he will.
I feel this
Best live acoustic version iv here so far were did u find this and did u post more?
There's so much anger on the comments.. Even worse than I remember. Even on songs like these..... It hurts guys....

it kinda makes me feel like im reliving an unwanted part of my past just so i can change it or like it. idk. confusing
Is he mispronouncing russe?x
+MendMyWings 7 (Crimson) He is. It's supposed to be pronounced similar to "goose". However, he mentioned, in the footnotes of the Besides & Footnotes album, that the reason he pronounces it this way is because it's written from his perspective as a country boy who doesn't know much about the world.
Omg thanks. Ive been wondering about that for ages. I know it's a silly thing, but it was annoying me lol x
